The Queen Gangster

Chapter 5

Violet ran to wherever the singer's voice was. I need to know who he is. Who owns that voice.

She finally got to the front of the rusty gate, and she entered without speaking at all. As she finally saw the clear view of the park, he saw Glaze sitting at the top of the slide set, strumming his guitar to an unfamiliar tune.

Violet slowly approached him and crouched to sit behind him and he seemed to feel my presence and immediately addressed me. “Hey, Nyx.” She stepped back in shock. Wrong decision.

She gasped and when she didn’t feel the hard metal from the ground. 

"Violet!"

Violet almost fell but Glaze swiftly grabbed her to prevent her from falling.

He made her sit on the cold metal floor while she still stared at nothing in shock. Violet was dizzy, as if electricity was flowing through my brain. Then she  looked at Glaze, the background changed, it was dark all around and he was already smiling at her but it went back to normal.

Her ears were ringing as if she was going into shock. It was normal since she did go through death the first time.

Violet closed her eyes, not knowing what to do. When she opened her eyes again, she was in the old playground—but it looked neat and new. She became confused when she saw her younger brother sitting on a swing while a man was holding him. They turned their backs.

She carefully approached them and tried to touch the younger version of her only to let out an air stuck in her lungs as her hand went straight through as if it were just wind.

"Nix, Promise me we won't be far apart" said the little boy on the swing to the younger version of her’s right

"Didn't I promise that?" The little Violet laughed "And of course. I can't afford not to have my best friend."

Who is he?

"But seriously... I'll wait for you if you disappear" said the boy

"I also promise, I will never leave you" continued the young Nix

Violet felt frightened when her vision faded into black, she couldn't see anything but felt like she was falling. Something painful hit her arm and she immediately started shouting.

She jolted up awake, eyes wide.

"Oh My Goodness, Nyx" Elise worriedly exclaimed “Are you okay?”

"A-Where am I?" Violet asked "W-Wait, where is he—?"

She stopped when Ash jumped on to the side of her bed and he leaned his head on her stomach..

"A-Ash?" She asked, laughing. He whimpered as if worriedly asking if she was in a good state..

"Awe, what a cute dog!!" Elise shrieked 

Kora and Aera suddenly entered the clinic, to which she saw the worry plastered on their faces. She knew Aera was mad, but her worry was still winning.

"Nyx!" Violet grunted just because of their hug

Damn seriously?

They let go so Ash jumped back up to lay his head on my stomach, who came down earlier.

"Whose dog is that?" Elise asked

"Glaze’s.” Violet said and stroked his head “He’s a good dog so I didn’t really mind.”

“Is this your way of manipulating the enemy to get the first rank easier?” Aera joked

She just rolled her eyes at them and continued to stroke Ash's head. Glaze entered the door panting but he smiled when his eyes laid on the dog beside Violet.

"Glaze? What happened to you?” Elise asked

"Oi First, Thanks for bringing Nyx here" said Aera

Glaze just nodded and approached Ash.

"YOU ANIMAL, DON'T RUN AWAY FROM ME AGAIN" He shouted which made her laugh, his forehead furrowed "What's so funny?"

"F-First of all, you’re yelling at a dog. Second, he ignores you shitless as if you’re not his owner.” Violet laughed “Isn’t that sad?”

He just blinked and touched my forehead.

"You have no fever but you look like you’ve just escaped from the mental hospital.” He claimed

Violet sneered and swatted his hand away his hand on her forehead. Ash jumped up to her lap as he finally laid on her lap while he rested his head on her shoulder. The girls awed while Glaze rolled his eyes at his dog. 

"I think I'm hungry. Can I go out? She asked Aera, but she shrugged her shoulders. She sighed and went to stand up as she carried Ash in her arms.

"NOPE" her heartbeat stopped when he grabbed her arm and sent her back to the hospital bed

"What the..." Violet just stared at him in disbelief because of how he acted "What do you mean Nope?"

"You will not go out, You are still sick. Did you not see your body movement when you tried to get up? "he said in an overprotective manner

"Are you sick or something?" Violet squinted her eyes at him “Why are you acting like this?”

"Just shut up "he said annoyed

"Aight, we’ll go back to class.” Aera pushed Kora and Elise out of the room “we’ll see you in a bit, Nyx!”

Glaze sat on the sofa while looking at her.

"You are the weirdest guy I've ever met. You know? I don't know you at all, but you act like I'm your sister or something—and then that overprotective thing? What the heck! " Violet exclaimed

She was expecting him to be offended or something, only to hear him laugh at her claims.

"You don't need to know me. All you have to do is trust me." He said casually as if trust was something that is supposed to be given to anyone

Trust? How can I trust someone that I don't even know?

"Ash" Glaze called, and Ash immediately jumped down towards him

He immediately stood up and approached Violet. Ash tried to stand up and held on to the side of the bed.

"I want you to be with Ash all the time, I don't want to see him not by your side" She just kept quiet while he said that. She was so confused beyond belief that she was unable to formulate words.

He left the clinic and left her and Ash. Violet also stood up while Ash was next to her. He's a big dog. At first she thought he was really a wolf rather than a dog. She was short, but he was actually reaching her waist.

But Violet will never forget the scene that occurred earlier.

Was it a dream? Or a memory??
