Ravanan

Chapter -11

It's early morning. The sun light seeped into the ground and the day dawn was crisp and clear. Ragav came out from his tent and called out everyone to get ready . All the officers who were worn out due to the long journey, rubbed their eyes and exited their tents .

On their way to the village, the team noticed a half degraded tiger covered in worms and insects.

"It must be him. He keeps..... You guys go to the village. I will make the proper burial and catch you later", Bala said.

Ragav nodded his head and the rest of the team headed towards the forest.

"He must have done this to scare us ", Lakshman said.

" May be....May not be", Ragav replied.

Ragav and his team claimed the long mountain and swarmed around the village to ensure no one could escape during their process. Then the officers suddenly sprang from nowhere and raided every single house. Ragav approched the village and noticed a Ten headed man's idol was sculptured artistically with a single rock . The ten heads represented unique facial expressions. Ragav asked Bala what was the weird looking idol .

" It's the idol of the greatest king in history, Ravanan. He is well known as a devout follower of the god Shiva, a great scholar, a capable ruler and a maestro of aveena, known as the ravanhattha. A man with ten heads and twenty arms and known as the king of the demons. His ten heads represents lust, anger,delusion,greed, pride,envy, intellect,mind, will and ego, making him complete man who stood against the God- Lord Ram. I never heard of anyone worshiping Ravanan as their god", stated Bala and the words increased his keenness even more and admired the 10 faces showing different facial expressions and said," A man with ten heads, huh? I have heard about him. This is why these people named their upcoming clan leader as Ravanan" .

"I think the same . Because the villain of our story is a great and mighty leader too ", Bala whispered with a surprised face.

While these two people where admiring the idol , the remaining officers brought the entire village under their control and there were no sign of either Ravanan or Bindhu. "Sir! Everything is under control . Now you may proceed for further investigation", Laksman addressed Ragav.

Ragav took a seat under a tree shadow and requested Laksman to send everyone in succession to the other. Laksman dragged an old man and forced him to kneel down near Ragav . Ragav politely asked the old man where was their leader Ravanan. The old man said that their leader left the place early morning .

Disappointed Ragav leaned back and lied his head on the tree and closed his eyes . Laksman asked him when will he return home.

" This entire forest is our home sir . There are totally 18 villages inside this forest. "

" What ? ", Lakshman's eyes widened.

" I guess this gonna be a lot harder than we thought", Bala claimed and turned towards Ragav whose eyes were reddening.

" Next ", he yelled.
