"This is the reason why I did not  want you anywhere near her in the first place." "Meghan, you can't directly blame me for what happened yesterday. In fact that is simply a prove that I was right about someone plotting." "I don't care whether you are right or not, I don't want you anywhere near her. She's not doing any of your dirty work anymore." This was the exchange that woke me up from my sleep. Mum and Dimitri seemed to be in a heated argument. No one was killed yesterday, but a lot of things were scattered by the time the lights came back on at the party yesterday. Mum had been so pissed when she found out that Dimitri had taken me away from the party during the power outage but she didn't say anything yesterday due to exhaustion. "Carry yourself and all your psycho thoughts the hell out of my house." My mum yelled in Dimitri's face. "You should be telling me 'thank you' you know." Dimitri said in a very low voice. You could feel the anger sipping through his entire body. "Thank you? Really?!" Mum scoffed.  "The only thing you've done is brainwash my daughter into becoming your puppet." "I did not  force anything on Kimora." He screamed hitting the counter angrily. "She made the decision to do what is right in honor of her brother and father, unlike you. She is not a coward Meghan and she'll never be." Dimitri said looking at my mum with so much disappointment. I decided to make my presence known. "Hey." I said acting like I had not heard any part of their conversation.  "Kiddo." Dimitri said with a smile as he hugged me. Mum just gave me a tight smile then stormed off to her room.  Yep, she was angry. "What just happened?" I asked trying my best to seem clueless. "That's something you should ask her yourself." Dimitri said with a carefree shrug.                               "You're good right?" He asked with concern. "Yeah." I said confidently. "I'm going back to L.A. tomorrow, business meeting coming up." He looked tired. "Okay, that's-" My sentence was cut short by a crashing sound.  I got closer to the window that got shattered and saw a note attached to a stone.  Not again!!  "Hey! Stop there kid." I heard Dimitri shout as he ran out. I followed him outside and saw him running after a boy. I joined him immediately, this boy could be the key to solving this puzzle. Dimitri caught up with him in no time and tackled him to the ground. I increased my pace so I could catch up with them. "Don't lie to me if you don't want me to mess your face up." Dimitri said angrily. "I swear I'm not lying, I was on my way to meet my girlfriend when I noticed someone watching your house, I was about to scream at him for being a creep when he pulled out a gun and motioned for me to come closer. He gave me the note and told me to get it into your house." There was fear written all over the boy's features. "And I'm meant to believe that?" Dimitri said looking at him with a calculated gaze. "That's the truth, I promise. I told him I couldn't and he threatened to shoot me, he was the one who gave me the stone and told me where to stand and throw. You can even call my girlfriend to confirm from her that we were meant to meet up in a couple of minutes." He said with tears streaming down his cheeks. I looked at Dimitri and it was obvious we both believed him. "Can you describe what he looked like?" I asked him. "I can't, he had shades on and he wore a hoodie. The only reason I know it's a guy is because of his voice. I'm so sorry." He said bowing his head. "Take us to where you saw him." Dimitri said taking in deep breaths. He was livid. The guy stood up and started leading the way. ****************************************** "This was where he was? You're sure?" Dimitri asked. The guy nodded in confirmation. This was ridiculous, this spot was so freaking close to my house. Whoever did this is a creep. "This doesn't make sense. Why will you be so close and still send someone else? And why make so much noise to get attention when you could be subtle and not risk getting caught?" Dimitri said more to himself than to us. He was in full brainstorming mode. I and the guy just stood there in silence watching Dimitri pace about restlessly. "Kim what did the letter say?" He suddenly turned to me. "I didn't check it." I answered a little confused about what he was driving at. "s**t!" He said throwing a fist angrily into the air. "We need to go back home now. I think this was just a distraction." He said already running back to the house. "Thank you." I said to the guy who threw the note before running after Dimitri. ****************************************** "What the actual hell?!" I said as I looked at the mess in my room. "Did you find any...holy shit." Dimitri said as he looked at the mess in my room. "How? Why? What exactly are they looking for?" I asked no one in particular. This was getting confusing. "No one can make such a mess without being noisy. Maybe Meghan can help." Dimitri said matter-of-factly. "Mum!" I said marching into my mother's room. It was empty. And some books were on the floor along with her phone. "Looks like some kind of argument or fight took place here." Dimitri said. "The note!" I said immediately as the light bulb lit up in my head. Hello Kimora, Guess you fell for my little distraction. Don't worry sweetheart, I'm doing you a Favour. I may not be the best person but that b***h doesn't deserve you. I read this note over and over again. "What does this mean?" I asked confused. "We'll have to find Meghan to find out. But while searching, I can not let you stay here alone." Dimitri said.  I was sad, really sad and angry but it wasn't because my mum was missing.  My brain kept connecting some dots between the first note I had gotten about a traitor and this one. And for some reason my gut feeling was in approval.  What did my mother have to hide?
