With the sun gently kissing her face, Rian woke up with a smile on her face. Who knew that being excited to meet your long friend would be this exciting? She took her phone and texted Shin.

‘I’m getting ready for school. I'm quite excited to see you later.’ She texted.

Since the start of summer, it has been a long time since she had ate with a friend. That is also the reason why she woke up early so that she could prepare their lunch. She had no idea what Shin would like so she just made the typical Japanese bento consisting of Omelette, Sausages, Rice Balls and etc.

‘This is going to be a wonderful day.’ She thought.

After all the preparations, she got ready for school and stuffed a beautiful blue picnic mat on her bag.

On her way to school, she saw Lance coming out of the creepy looking structure that no one wants to go near to. She doesn't even know what its purpose was! When Lance and Rian’s eyes had met, Rian immediately walked faster than usual and tried to calm herself down.

Unknown to her, Lance was also following her in her quick pace and it didn't took long before he held the handle on Rian’s school bag.

“Wh-what do you want...?” She tried speaking boldly, unafraid but that made her expose her nervousness and tension.

“Why do you look so scared?” Lance questioned and laughed. He then gave her a very dangerous looking smirk.

“I wont bite.”

Rian was horrified at his expression as she slapped Lance’s hand away and ran away like she was in a life-threatening marathon.

‘Cute’ Lance thought.

‘Again! I can f*cking hear you!’ Kei basically broke the ice with his unwanted remarks.

“Is the plan ready?” A dark-cloaked figure said with his voice echoing throughout the vast room.

Everything was tinted with black. To the wide table and chairs that that the figure was currently sitting on, to the color of the paint of the wall, to his suit. Black.

“Ye-yes! It-its ready!” The terrified voice belonged to someone who was shivering with fear. He had the hair as golden as sunshine, eyes as blue as the sea and voice as mellow as a sweet melody. He looked divine. It was such a shame that he was under the orders of the people from the dark.

“You need to do this fast. Kill Rian Schevets and take her ability.”

Time quickly flew until it was Lunch break. Rian hurriedly left their classroom and ran towards the rooftop. Opening the doors, she was greeted with a bright light coming from the run rays.

“Heya Rian.” A familiar voice had greeted her.

She blinked repeatedly until her eyes finally adjusted to the light. She then saw a figure waving his hands at her.

“Shin? Is it truly you?” Her eyes widened. He wasn't the same Shin anymore. He wasn't nerdy. He wasn't chubby. He changed his hair color. He had changed so much.

“Well? What do you think of the new me?” Shin lets out a chuckle and smiled at his friend. It has been a long time since he had seen Rian and he is excited to what she has to say.

“You're looking more handsome than before!” She lets out a laugh and started to set up their picnic mat.

“I made lunch by the way.” Rian told Shin and took out some big lunchboxes. Call her overboard but her excitement took out new lengths.

“You didn't have to. I made lunch too! But Thanks for this Rian. I appreciate it.” Shin said with a sincere smile. Rian smiled back but she was surprised that the male had called her by her real name when he used to call her by her surname, Schevets. However, she shrugged it off because her may memory may be wrong.

The pair started to unbox their lunches and everything looked delicious. The two continued to chat about random things and started questioning about each other. Rian then saw Shin happily eating a shrimp. She smiled, seeing someone enjoying her cooking made her feel fuzzy and warm.

“Rian. Take this apple. I was the one who grew it.” Shin handed Rian a green apple, eating the other one himself. Rian then placed the apple on her bad because she felt full.

After eating, they still had much time but Shin was summoned to the Principal’s office for some reason. Rian told the male to text him if something bad happens.

The female was left on the rooftop, enjoying the wind. She sighed in relief and made a mental note to thank Mike later and her decision to stick with her number was truly a good thing. She wondered where Mike were. They stopped hanging out after the Summer Vacation started— after the Moving-up Ceremony even. But nonetheless, she felt indebted to her friend.

After being lost in her thoughts, her eyes darted upon a tree. Something was rustling in its branches that she cant quite figure out because of the thick leaves that it bore. Her heartbeat was once again getting crazy and she had too much craziness to deal with, it was beginning to get too far from what she can bear. Suddenly, the unknown figure popped his head out and said.

“You better stay away from that boy.” The sudden voice startled the female that she fell on her butt.

“You scared me Lance! Theres a door for a reason!” She scolded him as he jumped on the tree into the rooftop. Lance offered the female a hand in which she slapped away as she pulled herself up.

“Just do it or you'll be in danger.” Lance said, putting his hands on his pocket and headed out towards the door.

“You gave me such a scary and flashy entrance just to say that? What the hell?!” He heard the female shouting from outside the door.

‘Well. You warned her.’ Kei said as he helplessly watch Lance having one of his rare, worried expression.

The female on the other hand, had a tick mark on her forehead. She decided to clean up and go straight to her classroom since she had nothing left to do and no one left to talk to. Her classroom was in a mess and she is confused as to why was no one trying to clean and organize the chair. She looked at her schedule and she scratched the back of her neck.

‘Ah right. Free period.’

She sat on her chair and looked at Lance who was really looking interested in the book that he was reading. He was wearing an earphone to indicate that he doesn't want to be disturbed and he also had his reading glasses on.

‘He looks like a normal person when he is like that. I guess he is a smart,handsome and megane(glasses) bishounen(hot guy) that you'll find on one of those mangas that otaku’s read. Looking at him like this, he really looks...human.’ She thought.

Lance looked his he didn't notice anyone staring at him seeing that he didn't look away from his book at all, as if that was the only thing that gave him fun. Rian grew curious of the ‘super-interesting’ book that he was reading as she moved his side to see that Lance was...

Lance was reading a fairy tale book! It was Snow White!

Rian tried hard hard to suppress the laughter inside of her until he finally let out a giggle that made Lance’s eyes fall upon her.

“Whats so funny?” He said, annoyance evident in his voice. His concentration has been destroyed.

“You're reading a children’s book.” She deadpanned and proceeded on laughing, catching the other girls’ attention.

“Its cause Im still one of those cute children. You hag. I bet all you read is erotica.” Lance gave her one of his ‘I-won-so-shut-up’ smiles that made the female’s eyebrow furrowing, she was the one annoyed now.

The demon inside Lance was smiling at the Rian’s behavior while Lance was clearly trying not to insult the female in front of her.

‘Can she be any more dumb?’ Lance said and groaned.

‘She left her brain at her mother’s womb. Have pity for the child.” Kei said and let out a laugh.

‘I gave her a clue already. Damn it woman, think!’ Lance complained and imagined strangling Rian for her foolishness.

‘Looks like you have no choice. Just kill him. He is not mortal anyways.’ Kei suggested.

‘Alright. Hope you didn't become weak. Kei’ Lance joked.
