Chase’s POV.
When Lily says Shane’s name, my heart stops. I watch as Shannon sways and I move and grab her as she lands on the floor. We all fight to get to her. But I grab her up off the floor. She is shaking, blank, then her body goes limp and I rush her to an empty bed and place her down. X-Ray rushes around checking her vitals and I ignore Lily’s gut-wrenching sobs as I watch the woman I love with tears in my eyes.
In just over a week, she was told that her father and brother died. That the man who killed her mom was behind the deaths, including the chief of the sheriff’s department. To her finding out truths from Ruby, to finding out she is the sole guardian to twin girls. To reliving the pain of her mother’s death. Then to find out it was a damn lie.
