Jack's pov

“are you sure jack that this plan is going to work, making us attack them like that?" Leroi asked me “i know the kind of person that Ryan is he hates weakness and would do whatever it takes to protect my Amyra so, I showed him power, and he is going to cone to me to seek it out, but the quest for power isn't an easy one especially when you aren't born with it....... I smirked.

I knew full well that my plan was going to work. Silly Ryan. I thought.

We had waited for a while, when someone was seen, making their way towards the village “speak of the devil, he got here quicker than I would have predicted" I said “wow I'm surprised he actually came, i***t" leroi said as long walked up to him, “welcome my friend, so glad you could join us," I said trying to muster the most genuine smile I could muster, end though I didn't feel, happy but I knew that I was one step of getting rid of Ryan.

“how did you find this place, surely you haven't been here before" leroi asked Ryan “it wasn't hard really, I saw a huge smoke from afar, animals don't make fires, but humans do" Ryan replied smartly. And everyone started laughing, as Ryan had a smug smile on his lips.

“so why go through all this hassle to find us," I asked “i hate being weak, all my life I have been weak, I want you to show me how you got strong" he said as I smiled, "welcome, to purgatory" I muttered underneath my breath.

Ryan's pov

I was brought into the village properly, “welcome to my humble home the Waikiki clan" he said as I took in the luscious scenery of greens, and huts built in a really organized way, I could see some of the guys on tall trees, as if they were keeping watch, I saw a large variety of birds, flying all around in a calm manner, I was just taking in how life happens in the Waikiki clan.

“come in let me introduce you to the chief my father," he said with pride in his voice, we got in and I saw a dark man sitting on a throne, he was shirtless just like the rest of the males in this clan, but he wore really beautiful ornaments that adorned his neck. Some one else was with him, I noticed that he was looking at me very keenly. Jack noticed the direction of my gaze and introduced me to the man that I was staring at, or to out it more correctly was staring at me.

“that is the seer, he is the special advisor to my father" I bowed in front of the both of them, then I stood up, “what is your name child?" The chief asked me “i am Ryan sir" and what is it that you seek “all my life I have been weak in the face of danger, but I don't want that anymore, I met your son Bryan, he is strong I want to become strong like him" I finished my sentence as they both looked at each other, then the seer spoke “the road to power isn't a walk by the river side, that is calm and refreshing, it's more of a dive into the restless river ridden with poisonous animals, are you sure you want to drink from that cup child?" “what ever it takes to protect the one I love" I said as they both nodded.

“you may go" the chief said as all of us left his hut leaving just the seer and him.

Seer's pov

When jack brought in the boy, I noticed that it was the same one the goddess showed me in my vision, I was instantly alarmed that the prophecy had already started to take effect.

Hearing him seeking for power just butresses the fact in my mind that, it wasn't long now before the apocalypse, but what marvelled me was when he said power to protect the one he love, I was taken aback and began to question what the true meaning of that vision really meant.

I watched as they all welcomed Ryan into Jakes home then another thought but me, no regular human had ever survived the transition which it would take, to become one of us, and get he power that he so craves, it fot me wondering again “what Jake has under his sleeve, he knows that Ryan is going to die in that transition, he must have another agenda that he is playing at" I said within my self.

Ryan's pov

We were at Jack's house, seating outside round a table as everyone was so fixated on devouring their meal.

I finally felt that I belong somewhere, a brotherhood who had each others backs, I have always craved this acceptance my whole life, and finally I got it, “by tomorrow Ryan you are gonna become one of us" Jack said, “if he can pass the test first" leroi chimed in almost immediately, I noticed tension between the two if them, “what test?" I asked in earnest really wanting to know,

“its nothing you should be worried about my friend" Jack said handing me a cup of wine, “tonight we celebrate the soon to be newest member of our pack", immediately everyone started howling, they all got in a frenzy and started running around, they were so energetic and full of energy and vigor. And slowly the night passed away.

The next day, I woke up noticing that we had all slept outside under the cover of the moonlight, my back ached me a little, I wasn't used to sleeping on the bare floor, I took a look around the place in the morning light, I noticed that the village wasn't full as it was last night, it was as if most if the villagers had gone somewhere, I looked around me searching for the guys but I didn't find any of them.

The seer approached me while I was still in my dilemma, I had noticed that he had taken a particular interest in my affairs lately, “young fellow everyone is assembled in the square where your transition test shall be held" he said beckoning for me to follow him.

“I had heared of this test from leroi, sir would you mind please enlightening me on how it is done" I pleaded with him, as we walked towards the venue, “many generations have come and gone with a lot of men seeking for the exact thing you are looking for now, power, but in order to acheive power, one must first go through hardships, for only iron can shapen iron, my child what you about to go through no one has survived it" he said leaving me startled.

If no one had survived it then why did Jack suggest it to me, I always thought leroi didn't like me but I'm beginning to see that he tried to warm me but I didn't listen, “jack is trying to kill me" I said as if just realizing something but it was too late, we had already gotten to the arena and everyone was there.

There was something dark about those guys, and sadly Amyra was right, “i don't want this anymore im going home" I said aloud “its too late my child" the seer said and with a poof I couldn't see him anymore, then I heared a growl, and I was on the alert, something was watching me from behind the shadows I could see it's yellow eyes, really brightly.

I bolted, running away frantically “running won't save you now Ryan" jack announced as the huge wolf caught up to me and bit me slightly, I could tell. Something was being injected into my skin, it still had it's fangs on me, but I said kicked it away with my legs, panting heavily and looking at my bleeding arm, the huge wolf started coming slowly closer to me as I was becoming weaker, it's poison was spreading through my body, I could barely keep my eyes open.

“take him down!!" Jack yelled as the wolf started moving forward with a lot of force, heading towards, me, “this is it" I said underneath my breath as my eyes were closing shut, “please don't hurt him!!!!".....
