Chapter one Ryan's pov Light could be seen in a shabby house, signalling that there are people inside the house, this house is located inside a dense forest, filled with trees, a lot of wind and the tree leaves swayed to the rhythm of the wind. Inside this house, singing could he heard, it was the voice of a mother singing a lullaby for her children, her husband standing right beside her as she was putting them to bed. “I can see the stars it shines so bright The sun goes down it's dusk twilight Lay down my darling See you tomorrow, sweet dreams follow, good night my darling" mum said as she tucked the both of us in bed, “Ryan promise me something" my dad said and I stared at him “promise me you'll look after your sister no matter what" he said, I just nodded “i promise dad" I replied him" as our mom kissed our foreheads “go to sleep now" mom said as I closed my eyes, that was the last time that we ever saw our parents, we lost them when I was eleven and my little sister was nine, ever since that incident, I had always tried my best to keep my promise to dad. It's been 8 years I think after we lost our parents, I sat outside remembering, everything, that happened in the past, but I was jolted back to reality when I saw Amyra walking past my direction, but this guy was bothering her, “Amyra hey I'm talking to you" he said pulling her backward" “ohh you shouldn't have done that" she said as I lunged up towards the direction of the dude who was forcing himself on her, “do we have a problem here man?" I asked him “f**k off looser" he said as he tried to force himself on her, then I punched him, on the face, he cleaned the blood on his mouth and beckoned for some of his friends to join him. I was out numbered and they all hit me really badly, I just narrowly escaped from them, I grabbed Amyra's hand and we ran, “you act all tough, but you can't hold your own down in a real fight!" He yelled as we was retreating, I felt bad, but I was a little bit content knowing at least I had protected my sister from him “you know you don't always had to get into fights because of me" Amyra said, “i'm not contentious you know it's just that I completely loose my cool whenever someone tries something funny with you" I said as she just sighed “wait let me take a look at that" she said looking at my injuries, “it dosn't look too bad it'll all be healed up very soon, but you won't always be lucky, you have to be careful with those guys okay" she scolded me and I just laughed. “promise me you wouldn't get into trouble because of me" “you know I can't do that" I said. Jack's pov The moon was high in the sky, we were deep in the forest,I was sitted with my dad at the middle of the pack as the seer related the prophecy to us once again “One shall arise from the dust, who shall surely cut down all that is known and loved, but all is not lost, there also shall be another, which shall try to defend all that is good and pure, but the problem is, it's only with the heart of his true love shall he win the battle, a price to dear for him to pay" thus states the prophecy by the moon goddess" he said again as I howled and the others joined in all excited. “evil days are ahead of us, but thank the goddess for sending us jack, the saviour of our clan" my dad announced as every one cheered, but I noticed that the countenance of the seer wasn't as excited as everyone else, but I didn't care to much about him. I ran forward and morphed into a wolf and started running as everyone else ran behind me, all howling it was like a kind of bond between every member of the pack. We hadn't even even gone too far, when I saw, a guy and and the most adorable lady I have ever met, she smiled, at something that the guy said, seeing her smile made me smile, I watched him trying to roast a deer in the fire, “dont get it burnt, Ryan okay" she said with a really calm voice, “i may not be really good at a lot of things, but I am pretty sure that I can cook a deer" he replied as his hand got slightly burned by the fire, and I just smirked “what looser" I muttered under my breath. I had hatched a plan to get to her I was gonna go through this guy since he happens to be acquainted with her. I had been following Ryan all through, and in the morning time he and Amyra where headed to a school, huh, I studied him, but before they got there they were ambushed on the way by a group of guys “alright looser you got away from us yesterday, try it again today let's see you try that again" the guy said as he cracked his knuckles, I saw this as an opportunity to get into their good side. “let them be," I announced as I stepped into their aid, I was beside Amyra, and I smiled “just keep going hobo, mind your business this dosn't concern you" I just smirked as they lunged towards me, I didn't morph but I allowed the energy of the wolf within me flow, and my senses where heightened, I seamlessly dodged and maneuvered through their punches and finally I took down 3 of the guys “unless the rest of you guys wanna end up like them I suggest you better run" I said sternly as they hurriedly ran away. “woah how'd you do that?" Ryan asked me excitedly but Amyra looked at me like she was studying me “we had this under control" she said disapprovingly “yeah I can see that" I replied straightening my shirt, as Amyra pulled Ryan away from where I was and walked away. Ryan's pov “Why'd you do that, he just saved our asses right there" I complained, “i just have a bad feeling about him" “how could you have a bad feeling about him we just met the guy" I complained to her “Ryan I love you a lot and I don't want you to get into trouble, and I know you, you are always drawn to this kind of people," “what kinda people?" I asked “the kind that exhibits power, that cant be explained, please promise me you'll stay away from that guy" she said but I didn't, she stared at me “we've lost mom and dad already, I can't lose you too" she said as she rested her face on mine. Weirdly I felt the urge to kiss her and I think she felt the same, because they way her eyes glittered, while staring at me. “we have to get to class" I said slowly taking in a deep breath breaking our moment. After a while the, school was over, and we both started going home, I saw a glimpse of someone deep into the forest but I could tell it was the guy that saved us earlier, I was intrigued I wanted to know how he got that strong so that I could protect Amyra more efficiently, “ill catch up with you later Amyra I wanna check out something" I said heading another direction, I could tell she didn't want me going but I had too. I followed the trail I saw, and finally I caught up to him, but he wasn't alone “hey Ryan right, wheres Amyra?" He asked me “you know my name but I don't know yours" I replied complete bouncing his question, “im jack, and this is my pack of friends" he said pointing to the group of people around him, as they all chuckled, “Ryan tell you what how would you like to be strong?" He asked as he put his arm around my neck, I just stared at him speechless.......
