Chapter 7- The Jade wolf

Matt POV

I cannot believe that Ava just embarrassed me and my father like that. How dare she?

I stomp into the pack house, slamming the door behind in anger. Regina has taken off god knows where, though at this point I’m glad she is not here otherwise she would be on the receiving end of my anger.

No sooner have I entered that pack house that I get a mind link from dad, “Son, come to my office now”

I sigh and start to head up to my office. No sooner have I opened the door that my father’s wrath hits me, the anger and resentment pouring out of him is so strong in the room that I am almost pushed back out.

“WHAT THE HELL WAS YOU THINKING? REJECTING HER!” He shouts at me, while rising of the desk to tower over me.

“SHE WAS JUST THE PACK SLAVE AT THE TIME FATHER, HOW WAS II SUPPOSED TO KNOW HER TRUE LINEAGE? IT’S HER FAULT FOR KEEPING IT FROM ME!” I yell back. Normally I have total respect for my father but I have already had a shity day and I am not taking anymore.

My father sighs and sits back down, running his hands through his hair. He doesn’t even look at me, “Matt, you have just been made Alpha of this pack and already over two thirds have left to follow Ava. Granted half of the pack was part of the Sunlight pack, but others from our own pack have left because they do not feel that you are a worthy Alpha to follow.”

I go to respond but my father holds up his hand. “That was the reason many of them mind linked to me for before cutting ties with this pack”

“That’s treason father! Now we can go after Ava and take back our pack!”

“No you STUPID BOY! Ava was right all along, the Sunlight pack never fully came under my power. For the last few years I have been trying to find out why, but what Ava said was true. She is their Alpha, that is why she never bowed to us and was immune to our alpha commands.”

“You are giving up way to easily father. Where has your fight gone? Ava lied to us, the Sunlight pack is rightfully mine! That slave lied to us and then took my pack!”

“Matthew, you rejected her and she left after reclaiming her rightful place. I have not given up Matthew, I have just realized that making you alpha may have been a mistake at this point. This is a mess that I should have cleared up but now it has fallen to you. So son, what are you going to do?”

“I am going to find Ava, mate and mark her and take back my pack. Then I will make her a slave again and take Regina as my Luna.” I look at my father straight in the eye.

“Son, that is ruthless. Are you sure that is the path you wish to take? Please know that there will be no coming back from the path once you take your first step.” I turn around so fast, surprised by my mother’s voice. How long has she been standing there?

“Mother, what are you doing here?”

“Son, I have heard everything. I not agreed with everything your father done when he was alpha but he always tried to do what was right for the pack. Ava was enslaved because she fought back, even I fought her corner but your father would not listen. However, you are talking about taking a young girl and basically torturing her all because you want her pack. Why son?”

My mother walks over to my father and embraces him, her sad eyes never once leaving mine. My father was a ruthless alpha but ever since giving up his title it’s as if he has done a complete 180. He sits behind the desk in my mother’s embrace looking like a man regretting his life decisions. Though I am not surprised, he did cost me half of my pack.

I turn around and leave the office. I cannot believe the dramatic change in my father already; he has become weak. I will get my revenge on Ava.

I walk into my room and hear Avas’ voice coming from the back yard. I head over to my window so I can see what is going on.

“I told you not to reject her you moron” Ben says angrily to me. “Now look, she is in the arms of another” Ben says forlornly as we stand at our window looking down on Ava on the stage. Ava stand there in the arms of another man, both looking happy to be with each other.

A part of my heart aches at this sight, it should be me holding her, me taking charge and me loving her. I shake my head to rid myself of these stupid thoughts. Five years ago she was the pack slave, now she is the alpha to a previously thought extinct pack that holds so much power already. How? Why? Why moon goddess? Why have you forsaken me? I tried to take back my rejection.

I feel slightly bad for the way Ava was treated in this pack, ever since she left the slaves were made into omegas so that they had some kind of freedom. And I did always want to know that she was safe. Was this the mate bond or was the need to want to know where she was simply because I view her as one of my possessions? Either way, I want her back.

I watch as Ava talks into the microphone and asks the man at her side to be her male Luna. Male Luna? Never heard of such a stupid thing, my mouth drops when he agrees. Has this man got no masculinity? What a disgusting man-wolf he is.

All of a sudden Ava starts to shake and transfer into a white wolf with bright green fur on her paws, tail and ears. Is Ava the Jade wolf? What the Hell?!

I stand there shocked. Did Ava just turn into the Jade wolf? No way! I stand there smirking, it appears that it’s even more imperative that I mate and mark her. Once I do I will be truly powerful if the prophecy is anything to go by.

The prophecy says that once a jade wolf is born then the supernatural world will be thrown into turmoil as light and dark fight in a final battle for dominance. Whichever side has the jade wolf will win. That is because the jade wolf will give whomever is mated to her incredible powers that make them undefeatable. With Ava by my side, then I would be unstoppable.
