Rejected but then Regretted

Chapter 6- The Moonlight Pack is reborn

Ava POV

I smile looking out at my pack, I then hold my hand up and motion for Jake to come to me. Jake nervously comes up onto the stage. I stand there, talking into the microphone so that the pack can hear me while I speak to Jake.

“Jake, the pack has recognized me as their alpha and they will follow me back home. Now, I have a question for you, my darling.”

Jake takes a deep breath and then nods his head, indicating that I can continue. “Jake, will you take your place at my side? Will you become my male Luna? I know that the Luna position is normally taken by the female but…” before I can continue, Jake willingly submits his neck to me.

“Ava, I will follow you everywhere. You are my fiancé, my love and now my alpha. Of course I will join your pack and I would be happy to take the position of the male Luna of the Moonlight pack, nothing would give me greater pleasure. The alpha position is yours my love and I do not want to take your birthright from you.”

Jake looks up and is eyes widen in shock, he pulls me into a hug for I have stated to silently cry at his statement. This man really does love me for who I am and not what I am. I have found the purest and truest love without the aid of the mate bond, and for that I am extremely grateful to the mood goddess and fate.

“Jake, stand beside me and I will connect you to our pack.” I motion for Jake to move closer and face me. Standing here like this feels like we are at our wedding. I shake my head to clear away such thoughts.

“Jake Aug, do you pledge your loyalty to the Moonlight pack and me, their alpha?”

“I do”

“Do you promise to fight and protect this pack in the name of justice and whats right?”

“I do.”

“Jake, do you accept the position of male Luna? Know that this position requires you to answer to me, as well as working with the pack to fulfill their needs to be best of your ability. To aid and assist the Alpha in anyway and to always support and protect the alpha?” I hold my breath, hoping that Jake accepts but also worried the he will change his mind.

“I accept Alpha Ava” I slice my palm and Jakes palm, holding his hand to solidify his acceptance into the pack and also as my male Luna.

Jake and I face the crowd as a united front for the first time. It is then that I decide to do a pack run with my pack. “Moonlight pack, let’s do a pack run to celebrate the return of our pack! Tomorrow please pack your belongings for we shall be finally heading home”

The field erupts into cheers and howls, the pack happy that they can finally return home. Everyone in the field shifts and stands facing me, waiting for me to shift and lead them on the run.

I then shift into my wolf for the first time, surprised that the shift went well as I had been told that it’s supposedly painful.

I hear gasps of shock go through the pack, who all are standing there with their jaws open. I look down and see that my fur is white with bright, shiny green on my paws and tail. “Jade, what’s going on?”

“I’ll tell you later Ava, at the moment let’s just enjoy our first run and with our pack no less”, Jade responds.

I watch in awe as Jade takes control and we run so fast through the field and trees, everything becoming a blur of brown, green and blue. I feel so free with us just running through the forest, no caring where we go or how long we are out. I then realize that I have lost the majority of my pack so I slow down and wait for them all to catch up.

We walk through the forest until we come to a green. We all lay down while the pups (who were carried by their parents on their backs as they cannot shift) begin to play around the wolves. Some of the younger wolves join in while the rest of us just enjoy to small amount of peace we can get at this moment in time.
