“I am your rejected mate Alpha Matthew. REJECTED!”
The ball room is in total silence, many of the attendees in shock at the revelation. All night Matthew has been saying to other Alphas and Lunas that he senses his mate who is Alpha Ava but that she is ignoring the mate bond. He does not realize or care that I have heard all of the malicious rumors he has been spreading about her tonight.
“Alpha Matthew” I move in front of Ava to protect her. She does not need my protection but my wolf and I need this, Ava seems to realize this as she lets me take the lead and squeezes my hand. “Alpha Ava is not your mate. You humiliated, belittled and abused her before rejecting her on her eighteenth birthday. Alpha Ava accepted your rejection.” The crowd gasps.
