Rejected but then Regretted

Chapter 4- Alpha ceremony crashed

Matt POV continued.

The knife slices against the palm of my hand as I recite my vows. “I, Matthew Kaede, hereby swear to lead, rule and protect the Sunlight Pack from now until my last breath”

My father looks at me with pride as he reslices his palm (werewolf healing means his palm has already healed) and shakes my hand, our blood running together and with it his alpha power flowing from him and into me.

Regina runs to me and hugs me, smiling and knowing that she will be the Luna of my pack soon. I wanted to mark Regina right after I rejected that slave mate of mine but Ben has refused to mate her, he still wants his mate. I have tried and Regina wants to mark me but I refuse, I want her tied to me but I don’t want to be tied to her.

Regina congratulates me by shaking my hand and giving my cheek a kiss in front of the pack before stepping back to her previous place. That’s what I like about Regina, she knows her place is beside me, even if she is only with me for power.

I then turn and look at the crowd smiling, finally my time has come and this pack will follow me now instead of my father. I expect to see the whole of the pack bowing to me and showing me their necks before we go on our pack run, but instead what I see is two thirds of the pack still standing.

I try to mind link them to tell them to kneel as maybe they didn’t feel the change in power but all that I am met with is silence.

“I don’t understand, why is only a third of the pack bowing to me father?” I ask, looking around as half of my pack stand back glaring at me with defiance. “Why are they fighting me? Ben do you know?”

“I do, but I’m not saying, I think I’ll enjoy the show instead” my wolf answers cryptically

I wait a few seconds but none of them submit to me.

“I ORDER YOU TO SUBMIT TO ME, I AM YOUR ALPHA!” I command in my new alpha tone. I have been so excited to use my alpha tone but I never thought I would have to use it on my own pack.

I am shocked when some of them smirk but not one of them submit to me.

“Why are you not submitting?!” I scream at them.

Then before I can say anything else I hear the most angelic voice exclaim “Because they are my pack members, not yours!”
