Chapter 9- Matt Finds Ava

928 Words
Matt POV- 1 Year Later A lot has happened in the year since Ava took a lot of my pack members with her. I do not care what anyone says, they were and are my pack. I know Ava and the Moonlight pack left our territory the day after my alpha ceremony. I also saw some of my pack members renounce their ties to me and the Sunlight pack. I later heard that they joined Ava’s pack. The return of the Moonlight pack flooded the werewolf network. At every alpha meeting I went to, they were speaking about it and how the pack had a female alpha and a male Luna but were flourishing like never before. I had hoped to come across Ava at one of the alpha meetings but she always attended electronically or sent a representative, she avoided me at all costs, which has really infuriated me. Knowing that what should have been my pack has already regained and even surpassed its previous size, strength, power and money within a year is even more of a kick in the teeth. I am currently reading an article in the Wolf Times about the Moonlight Pack. Apparently the alpha has stopped attacking rouges like the rest of us and is instead offering them a chance to turn their lives around, this new approach has resulted in an expansion in the packs territory along with a huge reduction in rogue wolves. Why would she house rogue wolves? I think to myself. Ava is too kind hearted and that will be my way in and her downfall. I know she has a male Luna but from my understanding they are merely good friends, she is looking for her mate. “Alpha Ava Knight of the Moonlight Pack has introduced a new scheme within her pack which has been opened with open arms and is enabling the pack to flourish. The scheme is that instead of attacking rogues, if they approach the pack in a peaceful manner, then Alpha Ava hears the history of the rogue and then offers them a chance to become a member of her pack. We spoke to one such wolf: “I was kicked out of my original pack because the Beta abused my mother and I attacked him to defend her. The Alpha saw this as treason and killed all of my family, then made me a rogue. Wherever I have gone I have been attacked by packs, even though I was doing no harm and simply wanted to live in peace. Every home I made was destroyed, taken or I was chased away from. When I came into Alpha Avas’ territory, the border patrol asked me what I was doing. I said I was simply trying to find a home. They took me to Alpha Ava, who listened to me, even gave me a shoulder to cry on. She then offered me a home, a pack and support. I took it whole heartedly and the pack opened their arms to me. There was no animosity or anything. Alpha Ava is truly an exceptional Alpha.” We spoke to other previous rogue wolves and they shared the same sentiments. After walking around the pack, you can tell that Alpha Ava really cares for her pack. This is shown by the way Luna Jake Marigold and the pack members speak so highly of her. This is one Alpha to watch out for.” I throw the paper into the bin in a fit of rage. All I want is my pack back and that b***h to be back at the bottom of the food chain. Once I am mated to her then not even the werewolf council would be able to interfere. They say they would but they won’t, the mate bond is too sacred to them. I rejected her but now I want her. I want her power. No matter I do I cannot seem to get close to her, everyone I sent to spy on her turned traitor after a while and actually joined her pack. All of my letters and requests to meet, officially and unofficially, have all been either ignored or rejected. Then I heard about the mating ball, I cannot believe that it has been a year again already. The mating ball is held annually in a predetermined pack territory. It is one night a year where territories, ranks and allegiances do not matter. The idea of the mating ball is for single wolves to find their destined mates. However, it is an excuse for alphas to meet up and discuss alliances, procedures or whatever they want. I go every year, but this year I will take Regina. I want Ava to know that Regina is my Luna, I want to see the look on her face when she realizes that no matter what, she is replaceable to me. But she is not replaceable, she is mate, Ben quietly growls. I push him to the back of my mind. I know he is in love with her, but Regina is the only woman I want. She is my chosen Luna. I smile to myself, the mating ball is next month and as an alpha, her attendance is mandatory. I will make my move then. I look at the picture of Ava from the newspaper looking back at me, her eyes glinting showing how happy she is. I mind link my Beta, Adam put the plan into action. Yes Alpha Soon Ava, I will have you, of that I promise.
