CHAPTER 4The four wagons came to a river a day later that was wide but appeared to be shallow enough to ford. Beyond, the land changed. There was still forest but above the trees were hills rather than just open sky. Becky appeared beside Kyla and glanced up at her where he sat beside Wyman in the driver's seat of the leading wagon. "This is the edge of our territory, Kyla," she said. "We can escort you no further." Kyla frowned and turned to Wyman. "Does that include you?" She asked. "No Kyla.
