A Rainy Day
I got the idea for this poem when I was walking down my street on a rainy day. I was looking at the puddles on the grass and the streams flowing elegantly down the street. Which made me think of how, at least from my experience, a lot of people hate the rain. People usually associate it with sadness or depression. But I see beauty in it. This poem is a collection of my thoughts and comparisons of a rainy day to life.
A rainy day is the best way to explain life
Whether someone is going through a joyful time or heart-wrenching strife
Some hate it and some love it
But, whether you like it or not, it won’t quit
It will flow like water on the ground
You may not even notice how much has gone by without a sound
The clouds are all different shades, not just black and white
Life isn’t linear but everyone will sometimes see a little light
Sometimes you’ll see reflections in the water that it and the real-world share
It’ll make you think of a parallel world where you would live without a care
The rain comes down not all at once but in an asynchronous pattern
And they are many, like the rings on Saturn
It will go by with or without you
So why not enjoy it? I think you’ll find you know what to do
