CHAPTER FIVE SEBASTIAN “Who do you think bailed us out?” I questioned Lizzie as I put back my wrist watch. It was a present from my boyfriend-ex-boyfriend to be precise.   “I was about to ask you the same. I didn’t call anyone but whoever bailed us, has to be someone who-holy s**t!” she cussed, her eyes widening at something or someone behind me.   “What?” I asked turning around at the same time as I saw my boss, pacing to and fro.   “We are f****d,” Lizzie cussed exactly the same thoughts in my head. Why the hell did Mr. Stuck-up-ass bail us out? We weren’t exactly friends with each other and so I was pretty taken aback by his whole charity.   “Lets find out just how far deep we are f****d,” I said. I wouldn’t be surprised if this cost us our jobs. Ares Cohen was one of those men that despite having the looks that make you want to cheat, his attitude was a total turn off. His droolworthy looks that earned him the name Sin would have been appealing to me if he toned down on the haughtiness.   “Sir,” I called to get his attention.   He stopped pacing, turning to us and well, his furious expression had me halting in my tracks. We were definitely f****d but why the hell was he only looking at me like that?   “In the car, now,” he ordered, turning on his heel as he strode outside.   “Well, maybe we just cost ourselves our jobs,” Lizzie whispered.   “You know, if you hadn’t hit him, you wouldn’t have been in jail with me,” I pointed out as I walked towards the car.   “He called me a b***h. No one ever calls me that,” she said.   “I have to admit, that was one hell of fist though. Where did you learn all that?” Lizzie may appear as a no-nonsense woman that could beat your ass at the slightest provocation but believe it or not, tonight was the first time I had seen her beat the crap out of someone in a really long time.      “Well, you don’t fight bullies in high school and not learn a thing or two,” she shrugged as we got in the backseat of the Lamborghini.   Ares said nothing as he pulled the car out of Metropolitan, getting into the main road. I knew the storm was brewing and so I was just bracing myself for it to pour over. We didn’t have to get far before he pulled the car to a stop on the side of the road.   “Now care to tell me why I had to bail you out of jail?”   “With due respect sir, I didn’t ask you to bail us out. It was your own decision,” I get that he bailed me out but something about his whole nasty attitude always found a way to set me off.   “That is because my company’s reputation would have been in the line lest all this leaked to the media. Do you have any idea what would have happened if the headlines tomorrow read that not one but two employees from Cohen Entertainment, one of the big seven entertainment company in the US, were jailed for physical assault? Do you have even the smallest inkling of how that would have looked on me?” he was really mad and now thinking about it, he actually did have a right this time to be upset. Entertainment companies treaded on reputation.   “We are sorry Sir,” There was no use antagonizing the man further so as not to lose our jobs, that is if we hadn’t lost them already.   He was about spit something but his phone rung and with his aggravated look still on us, he picked it up.   “So what did he say?” he questioned straight away, listened a bit then said,” I owe you one buddy. I’ll meet you in a few minutes,”   After he cut off the call, he looked a bit relaxed which was a good sign.   “You are lucky that shitty boyfriend of yours has agreed to drop the charges after a payment of ten thousand dollars was deposited into his account. Bad news to both of you, I’m going to cut that amount from your end-month salaries,” he said. At least that meant we still had our jobs. Tarmacking the LA roads for a new job was something I dreaded.   “I supposed a thank you sir is in order,” I answered.   For the first time his attention turned to Lizzie,” And how do you even know this incompetent secretary?”   “He is my best friend, Sir,” She answered.   “Oh. That actually makes sense. You both have shitty taste in men and that shows quite clearly. Yours left you for another woman and what did yours do to deserve such an assault?” he questioned, glancing at me.   “Cheated on me,” I replied, trying to hide the sting out of my voice.   “Not surprised,” he shrugged. Not surprised? Wow, even in the wort of situations, he could not tone down his arrogance. Did he have any idea how it felt to find out the man you’ve loved for so long did not reciprocate your feelings all along? And the worst part was actually finding him with another man.   “Anyway Elizabeth, when are you coming back to work?” he returned his attention to Lizzie. Her expression was a bit pale and I instantly realized when Ares talked about Lizzie’s ex, he had touched a nerve. Way to go Sir.   “In a week, Sir,” she replied softly.   “I suppose I could tolerate Sebastian for a week. Speaking of work, do you happen to know George Pitson, Sebastian?” he questioned as he restarted the engine, navigating the car back into the main road.   “Yes, I do know him,” Everyone who happened to be a movie addict knew George Pitson. His astounding performance in Werewolves of Atlanta had everyone wishing it was not just a fiction. If werewolves were real, I would not mind him being my Alpha.   “Good. Now, you have less than a week to scout him out and convince him to sign with our agency,”   “W-What?” I could not have possibly heard him right.   “I won’t be repeating myself,”   This was the first time I was getting an actual assignment instead of sitting behind my desk with stacks of papers and he chose to give me George of all people? I was not complaining but George seemed way too famous for a first time assignment. What if I mess up and got on Ares’s bad side again? On the good side, this was a good way to escape my broken heart and the fact that I’d have to find a new apartment soon.   This was certainly the worst day of my life.
