It's dinner time when I get to the house.
It's a relief that I got out of James' house in one piece. I'll admit it. He scared the s**t out of me. The way he acted after hearing about his wife's death... the guy is a f*****g monster.
I find Dad, Maya and Wendy gathered around the dinner table chatting and laughing. I take a seat next to my sister and serve the food. Mindy is really a pro at making chicken wings. She knows that's my favorite and she frequently makes the dish. Ugh! The woman is so sweet!
"So, where have you been?" Maya asks sternly. "We've been worried sick about you, young lady."
She has this serious look on her face and demand etched in her voice. It's kinda funny how she's acting like my mom.
