Chapter 13

Micah’s POV:

I woke up in the hospital, and I was angry. I remembered everything that happened, and I know I got hurt. Why didn’t I feel any pain? Was I dreaming? There was a woman touching me and I immediately grabbed her to push her away and I felt something but I wasn’t sure what it was, wait could she be...

“Micah, relax, your in the hospital! She’s helping you!” Nicole yelled.

I could smell something faint, but I knew all the hospital smells plus me being almost killed were covering a lot of it. I was still holding her wrist and I saw the woman fell and let her go and we made eye contact. I knew right then she was my mate. She stood up and I grabbed her again and pulled her close. I needed to smell her.

She smelt of Roses and Sweet Peony flowers. It was so sweet and intoxicating. I let her go for a second and took in her appearance.

She was so small and cute. She looked to be 5’3 or 5’4, brown wavy hair down to her shoulders and an hourglass figure. She was beautiful.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Tara. I’m so happy your okay. I hate we met like this, but I’m thankful for it.” She replied.

“I couldn’t agree more.” I said and she came closer to me. I couldn’t help myself and grabbed her face and pulled her in for a kiss. I loved her already and she was mine. We started fighting with our tongues almost immediately and I got so caught up, it felt like it was just us in the room.

“Ahhh-heeem.” Coughed Nicole. Evan laughed slightly and we stopped. We were both breathing heavily and she giggled.

“Okay okay, I’m going to get the doctor so we can get out of here. I will see if I can leave early and spend the day with you? If that’s okay with you Alpha?” Tara asked.

“Of course it is. I assumed you would be joining us anyways considering.” He said.

Tara smiled and nodded and slipped out the door.

“I’m so happy for you! I know James will be super happy too. We all are just happy your alive. I can’t Thankyou enough for saving my life and so many others.” Nicole said.

“Yes, I couldn’t agree more. I’m just happy your okay.” Evan replied.

“And it’s only after eleven forty five. We can make it back home before morning to celebrate. And Tara of course has to come now. I hope she moves in with us. I don’t want you to leave us.” Nicole said.

“I’m going to ask her to move with us, I can’t leave you two anyways. Who would save you then?” I said laughing.

We spoke for a few more minutes when Tara and the doctor came in. We all got quiet and serious when he walked over. He looked at me and my body and smiled in Taras direction.

“Good job Tara. He’s completely healed! See Alpha Evan, she really is the best.” I grabbed Tara’s hand when he said the last part. The doctor saw and smiled even bigger.

“Tara, congrats, I see he is your mate I’m assuming?” He asked.

“Yes he is. And I was hoping…”

“No need, take the week off. You have earned it anyways. When I found my mate, I went crazy because I had to work sixteen hours a day, I will not do that to anyone else. Enjoy your time!”

They shook hands and the doctor gave me my discharge paperwork. It took me less then two minutes to fill it out, I was ready to leave.

Evan and Nicole went outside the room to speak with the doctor one more time, giving me and Tara some alone time. I was about to kiss her when I heard Nicole scream. I was up and out the door in a second with Tara following.

Nicole’s POV:

I took Evan’s hands and led him outside. I wanted to thank the doctor personally for what he and Tara did for Micah. We walked into the hallway but I couldn’t see him anywhere.

“I’ll go ask the nurses over here. I’ll be right back.” Evan said as he kissed my cheek. I smiled as I watched him walk away then I was hit by an immense amount of pain that made me scream and drop to the floor.

Evan ran back to me and went to pick me up but I was hit with another wave of pain. I screamed in pain again staring to get scared.

“What’s happening?!” I yelled. By this time, Micah and Tara were with us.

“Baby, it’s past midnight now I think your shifting.” Even said rubbing my back. Another wave of pain.

“AHHH! I can’t deal with this!” I arched my back in pain as Evan went to pick me up. The doctor quickly came and ushered Evan to take me in the room. Another wave of pain and I was starting to shake.

“Get me a sedative! This isn’t a normal shift! Hurry!” I heard the doctor yell.

“Everything will be okay baby, I promise.” Evan said then looked at Micah.

“Get Lynn and James. And link Eddie to let him know what’s going on.”

“On it.” Micah said. He grabbed Tara’s hand and walked out.

I felt another wave of pain and during this one I felt bones break. I could hear snapping in my ears and it felt like my body was on fire.

“Hang in there baby, you will be okay.” Evan said. He was still holding me, but it was not helping the pain.

“I want everyone out but Evan. Please!” I felt hot and scared and my body was on fire.

“Okay, but if you need the doctor I’m bringing him back in. Everyone please go. I’ll call you if I need assistance.” He said. Everyone followed his order.

I made him let go of me and I started to crawl to the floor. The coldness felt good on my skin but I was still hot.

I started to strip not even aware that I was doing it and spread my body across the floor trying to take in all the cold tiles that my skin could touch.

Another wave of pain and this time I felt my bones stretch and grow longer.

“Why is this taking so long?!” I yelled. I couldn’t take the pain anymore. Even being sedated didn’t help.

“Evan I’m scared. This isn’t normal!”

“You’ll be okay baby, I promise.” Evan said as he sat on the floor and started rubbing my back.

Another wave of pain and it made my whole body convulse. The pain made me start to grow weak and I felt I was going to pass out.

Evan stood and yelled out the door, “Get Tara!”

Evan’s POV:

I looked down at Nicole and saw she was unconscious. Tara came in and knelt down beside Nicole.

I sat down and rubbed Nicole’s back and she started to stir awake.

“Is it over?” She asked groggily.

“Not yet baby, I don’t know why it’s taking so long.”

Her body started to shake again and I looked at Tara who was focused on Nicole. She placed her hands on Nicole’s body.

“Somethings wrong. I can sense her wolf, and I know she is in shift, but I don’t know what it is.”

Just as she spoke, Nicole’s body started to flow and lift up off the ground. Everyone has gathered at the door and we all watched and she drifted further up in the air.

“Tara? Are you doing this?” Micha asked.

“No, I’ve never seen this.” She replied.

A big blast of light shot out from Nicole and it made all of us cover our face. When we turned back, I couldn’t believe what I saw.

Nicole had shifted fully, and she was a beautiful white wolf. She looked twice the size of Nash and her fur almost looked like it was glowing. Then I realized it had an actual sparkle, like it was covered in glitter. Her body slowly went back down to the ground and her eyes shot open.

“Oh my goddess!” Yelled the doctor. He quickly dropped to his knees and knelt before her.

“What’s going on?!” I yelled as people started dropped all around us.

The doctor was quick to respond.

“It’s the queen! Nicole is the queen of the wolves!”
