They Left

"So what are you going to tell me about?" Maxine asked.

But suddenly Miggy break into the conversation.

"What are you guys talking about?" Miggy asked.

"Uhm nothing I just want to tell Maxine that she is pretty today" Topher nervously responded.

Miggy glowered Topher and said nothing.

"Ow that is so sweet, oh by the way I gotta go, sister Amelia told me to water her flowers in the garden, talk to guys later, bye!" Maxine said.

After Maxine left, Miggy stare at Topher and said angrily as he whispered, "Are you crazy? You gonna actually tell her about it?!"

"What's wrong about it then? she have the right to know about it, she is our friend" Topher responded calmly.

Maxine woke up the next morning, confused as to why Miggy and Topher were not in their bed, she immediately asked other orphan.

"Hey, have you see Miggy and Topher?" Maxine asked.

"Didn't Miggy and Topher told you?"

"About what?" Maxine asked with curiosity while feeling a bit anxious.

But then Maxine noticed something on her desk that says "FOR MAXINE", Maxine immediately open and read the letter.

"I'm sorry Maxine, I tried to tell you but we thought you will get mad if we told you this. Sister Marry introduced us Ms. Mendoza our new parent, yes we got adopted. We will miss you, I'm really sorry. -Topher"

Maxine felt betrayed after reading Topher's letter; she felt abandoned by her own friends, whom she considers to be her family.

After a few years, Maxine finally turned 16 and was considered leaving the orphanage. Maxine enrolled as a scholar at the fancy university while also working a part-time job as a barista near her apartment.

One time Maxine is in a hurry then suddenly she bumped into someone.

"Gosh! are you blind?" the unknown guy said.

The coffee that the guy is holding got spilled into his sweater.

"I'm so sorry, but I actually need to go. Here is my number call me and I will get you a new one but for now I do really need to go, bye!" Maxine said.

Maxine ran away but the guy unexpectedly recognize her.

"Maxine?" The guy said as he whispered to himself while Maxine running away from him.

"You are late again!" Maxine's boss said.

"I'm sorry" Maxine respond.

After the conversation of Maxine and her boss, Maxine immediately do his job.

"Okay maam, one venti matcha latte, and one slice of cheesecake, and that would be 351 pesos maam, just wait for minute, thank you ma'am. Next please" Maxine said.

"Uhm can you give me a venti caramel macchiato and a cheesecake too" the guy said.

"Okay sir, I will just repeat your order, venti caramel macchiato and cheesecake, that's all?" Maxine said.

"Yes, that's all" the guy said as he smiled.

"Okay sir that would be 357, just wait and have a seat sir, thank you" Maxine said as she smiled at the guy.

"You didn't recognize me?" the guy asked.

"What do you mean sir?" Maxine respond as she wondering who is it.

"It's Topher" the guy said as he smiled at Maxine.
