I could not control my anger as the news had me reeling around the room. I was already losing my mind. Billions of dollars of my hard earned money were gone in a flash.

How was she with my money? I was going to make sure she coughed up every single dime.

“What do you want to do sir?” Richard got me out of the trance I was in.

“I am going to make sure she dies a horrible death for scamming me.”

“Sir, I would refrain from causing a public scene.”

“And why would I do that? That w***e owes me money.”

“If this escalates then your father would be the one suffering the repercussions. The son of a respectable politician and businessman found gambling in a Vegas club. He also had his money sent to the wrong account and he’s attacking random women for money.”

“I don’t care about the headlines now, I need my money.”

“Your father would lose trillions while you are afraid of losing billions. The stakes are higher than this sir. We need to be smart about these things. Also, if she were to approach your father, you would be screwed. He has warned you to stop gambling. You need to handle this on a very low key so no one would know.”

I could see the points being made here and I hated that the manager was right.

“Fine,” I sighed. “As my financial advisor and strategist what do you suggest that I do?”

“The first would be to set up a meeting with her and know her demands. I know that you dated her so you should not have a problem coming to an agreement.”

“And what if her demands can’t be met.”

“Then there are other alternatives to use Harry. I’ll be here throughout the meeting with you.”

I started to feel bad for what I had done to Ariana. I knew what Queen was requesting for but I could not do it.

I was not going to have her back. There had to be a way out of this and the only way I was seeing was getting married to Ariana.

She was already pregnant with my child. It would make more sense to marry her than go for someone like Queen.

I was sure that after I would be done with the contract marriage to Ariana, I would be able to easily get whatever I wanted from my fathers will and I would not only get the respect of the family members as a responsible man but also have Queen respect my boundaries and send me my money.

I was sure a contract marriage would work between me and the woman.

I dismissed Richard to call the waitress.

She picked up and she was not in a good mood. I knew why. It was all my fault she was in a bad mood like that.

“If you’re calling to get on my bad side again you’ve already done that successfully. Please don’t get on my nerves anymore.”

“Let’s get married,” I blurted out.

“What?!”

“You heard me. Let’s get married.”

“No,” was her direct answer. This answer caught me off guard. I was rich, handsome and every woman wanted to be with me with every man wanting to be me, what was there to not love?

“No? What do you mean by no?”

“No means no, Harry. I decided that I would take care of the baby myself.”

“Your baby will suffer.”

“Fine by me. So long as it does not have to deal with a man like you as a father, I’m good.”

“Your baby would be a laughing stock.”

“Tell me what’s new. I’m already a laughing stock now. What’s to change?”

“If you get married to me, then we can both raise the baby to be better than the present. The baby will grow up in a rich home and inherit all of my things.”

She scoffed, “So because your baby is going to take after your properties that is the only reason you want the baby.”

I knew that if I said my main aim she would not want to be with me anymore. The best thing would be to lie and get her to be with me.

“Fine, I’ll tell you the truth,” I cleared my throat. “The truth is that I did not grow up in a normal household. Everything was business-like over here and I grew up like that. If you can be my wife and teach me the ways of…”

“Enough of this story, Harry,” she laughed. “I’ve caught onto the reason for why you want me to marry you.”

“You have?” I was taken aback by her sudden outburst and laughter. What did she know?

“I can speculate that with the earlier call I had received, your money from the casino had gone to Queen’s account that was why you reacted in that way to me. You not only got rejected by queen, you are seeing me as an escape belt to tell her that you are married and can’t have her back.

“I knew she was your ex by the way she kept screaming it out during the party in Vegas. If she sees that you are married, she would have no choice but to send you the money unless she has something to use as a leverage over you.”

“You are smart,” I laughed. “Smarter than I would like actually. Well, now the cat is out of the bag, what do you say?”

“My answer is still no. I am not a pawn to be used in your game. If you want someone to do that with then get someone else to do it with.”

“But you are already pregnant with my baby.”

“I can take care of the baby myself.”

“You are poor. You cannot do that.”

“Oh watch me and see.”

“Don’t do this Ariana. I still have the right to my baby and I could drag you to court after the baby is done. Do you really want to spend your first few years in court?”
