Dinner

At 8:30 20 Van's pulled into the Pack Village, all bearing the name of the restaurant they came from, 5 of them Drakes Restaurant as the Emergency Services were wrapping up the night and the fire was extinguished.

They had managed to save most of the building, although it would require extensive repair, and the kitchen was a total loss. The Fire Marshall came up to Daisy as she had taken control of making sure all the people were otherwise occupied and were able to find a meal, as the Gray Dawn Pack would not be able to cook communal meals for quite some time.

Derrik had done everything he could as well, and was amazed when all the Van's pulled up and began unloading food. "What is happening?" he asked her knowing that she was likely responsible.

"Dinner for the Alphas has arrived." she said dismissively as she grit her teeth together.

"Thank you, I must say you have rather taught me more in 2 days than I ever imagined possible." Derrik said as he bowed to her making her turn.

"Let us get one thing clear Alpha Derrik, I did not do this for you. Nor do I care what you learn from it, as you have not proven anything to me yet. If you truly wish to earn my forgiveness, make this a Pack people will flock to. Make it a shining beacon of what being a Wolf can be. Only than will you have truly learned the lesson you need to. First, even if not a Fated Mate as I know you loved your Luna very much. Your Pack needs someone to love them, even if she is chosen." Daisy told him as his eyes went wide. He had never even considered it, and had not had a mate ball since his Luna had died 10 years before.

Derrik bowed to her, and held it for a moment as he knew she was right. "I hope I may be the first Wolf to tell you this, and if not I hope you know that no matter what happens in the future I mean this. You will make a great Lycan Queen, despite what I did to you. I can only hope to one day earn your forgiveness My Queen, and I shall strive to prove I have truly learned the lesson." he said surprising her as he bowed to her. "If you do not mind, I would like to take over this assignment for you, and will alert everyone when dinner is served."

Before she could respond however the man from the first van walked up to them. "Good evening, I am Porter Drake of Drake's Restaurant, I am looking for Daisy Knight." he said formally.

"I am Daisy Knight." she replied as he looked at her.

"Excellent, we just need to know where to get set up and take care of the payment." he said as Derrik stepped forward.

"I am Alpha Derrik of the Gray Dawn Pack, we are setting up an area right over here where you can set up. I will also take care of the bill." he said as Daisy nodded to both of them and walked away.

'How goes it love?' Eric asked in their Mate link huskily.

'It goes surprisingly well. Dinner will be ready within 15 minutes behind the Pack House.'she replied.

'Excellent. You will be happy to know that your speech was very moving on the Alphas.' he told her as she smiled.

'Good, maybe they will pull their heads out of their asses and make this world a better place for all Wolves.'she said closing the link with a smile as she watched as they did indeed set up a massive buffet that would easily feed the entire Alphas Gathering.

She sat at the high table with the other Lycans, and they had ensured that the Wolves knew they did not have to wait for them to eat to get their food.

Porter Drake had been amazed when over a thousand Alphas emerged from the building, as well as the Lycan King himself walking up and shaking his hand. It wasn't until everyone had been served, and the staff the restaurants had brought were walking around filling wine glasses when King Eric tapped his glass and the Alphas quieted down.

"Today has shown us, that once again we never know what may happen to any of us. We must give thanks to these humans, what such a late hour rose to the occassion to provide us with the feast we are enjoying tonight. As I see there is plenty of food leftover, and Alpha Derrik assures me the Pack has been taken care of this evening, we must ask that our human friends join us umin this meal." he said to a small round of applause for the local Humans who had prepared the food.

"If I may Majesty?" Derrik asked as he stood from the end of the high table and he nodded and sat down.

"A few days ago, an Orphan taught me the value of each of us. Human or Wolf, each of us has value to give. Without our future Luna Queen Daisy Knight, this would not have been possible." he said as the Wolves clapped once again, as did the humans as she blushed. "In 2 days, she has taught me more than Incould possibly have imagined. As such, no matter what this council decides at the vote tomorrow, I decree the Gray Dawn Pack will no longer align itself with Packs that do not honor our Futire Queens wishes in regards to the Orphans. She is right when she says they have not been tainted by the Moon Goddess, and we cannot treat them as if they automatically will be." he said before he raised his glass. "To the Future Lycan Luna Queen!" he said as nearly three quarters of the Alphas and Lunas stood and raised their glass to her as she blushed deeply and tried to hide her face.

"You must say something my love." Eric whispered to her as she shook her head. "I will be right here."

Daisy lifted her head. 'You suck.' she said in the mind link to the Lycan who all laughed as she stood. "Thank you Alpha Derrik, and thanks to Porter Drake and all the other owners of the restaurants that provided tonight meal on such short notice." she said as her face returned to normal. "I do not know what the future holds for us, but I know that whatever it is we cannot move into the future divided as we have become. Since the time War Chief Jane left us with her mates, we have grown complacent and allowed divisions of the past seperate us once again. No more can we allow this to continue, or I fear we shall once again face consequences most of us cannot bear. Let this be the beginning of a new era, of peace and cooperation for ALL of our people!" she said raising her glass as the Wolves started stomping their feet.

One of the Lunas lifted her face, and started a howl that was quickly followed by all of those present. King Eric was impressed, as they had not done so since Jane herself had ascended to the Celestial Plane with her Mates.

"That was beautiful My Queen." Eric whispered as the Lycan joined the Wolves howl and the Humans clapping. Her face went beet red as Eric laughed and knew that she would make a great Queen.
