Training

Daisy was drug out of bed with Eric by Megan the next morning at 4:30 am, to begin her training. The warriors of the Gray Dawn Pack were all assembled in the training grounds, the smell of the fire still strong in the air as they drank coffee several of the Omega women had banded together and prepared for them. Megan lead them all to the training grounds, and they split into their sparring groups as Megan looked at her. "I assume you had basic combat training in school?" Megan asked as Daisy smiled while the group of new warriors of the Pack laughed. "Yes." Daisy replied as Megan looked at the other Wolves who all nodded. "Excellent, the rest of you partner off and begin your drills." she said as Daniel smiled as he was teaching them. "We shall have to see how well you learned." Megan finished looking at Daisy as she smiled. "We shall have to see." Daisy said simply as she reached up and braided her hair into a tight bun quickly before she crouched into a ready stance. Megan didn't see Daniel and the others stop when they began the sparring, Daisy letting Megan test her beginning with the easy. "I give it another 30 seconds." Jacob said as tje others agreed. "What are you all on about?" Daniel asked them as he watched the two women. Megan seemed like she was actually trying to hit Daisy as they went through the basic striking and defense moves all Wolves and Humans were required to learn in school. "Delta, we are betting how long it will take Daisy to become bored with the beginner level fighting." Jason said as he looked at his watch. "Why would you think she knows more than that?" Daniel asked as Jacob looked at him and laughed. "Sir, Alpha Derrik may have never cared to check the results of the testing done at the school, but I am surprised you didn't." Jason said as Daniel growled. "I pulled the scores of every warrior in our Pack." he said through clenched teeth. "Ah, that's why they don't know than." Jason said as Daniel looked at him with a questioning look. "She is top of the class, 6th Degree all forms." he finished as Daniel's eyes went wide as Megan used her speed and hit Daisy as she smiled while her head rocked to the side from the impact. "32 seconds." Jacod said as it seemed like an explosion of activity went off as Daisy began counter striking every move Megan made. Daniel was amazed at how clean her form was, as she seemed to flow through the maneuvers with ease, surprising even Megan at how skilled she was. Daisy however was just warming up as Megan had to begin using her Wolf speed to block the counter strikes, and Daisy began using her speed as well before she sent Megan flying sideways when she connected a kick into her side. Megan was laughing as she landed, and the rest of the class was not surprised at how it turned out as Daniel stood there with his mouth hanging open as Daisy walked up to Megan and held her hand out to help her up. "Super advanced, Elite Warrior status." she said still laughing as she let Daisy help her up. "You could have asked ya know." Daisy said with her own smile. "Don't need to now, I would hate to be the one facing you." she replied as Daisy smiled. "Don't tell Eric." she said knowing the Elite Warriors were unable to see them as Megan narrowed her eyes. "Why?" she asked her future Queen. "Is it not going to be my job to be the caring and nurturing one?" she asked as Megan chuckled. "Being those things doesn't mean you have to be weak. We have a long history of Warrior Queens, who many times saved the innocents of the Pack as she protected them." Megan said as Daniel recovered from the shock and made the class get back to their drills. "What was your specialty in school?" Megan asked now. "Combat Mage." Daisy said with a smile as Megan's eyes widened in surprise understanding the sword now. It would have been the one piece she needed to complete her ensemble after having left Gray Dawn Pack. "I will tell the King you will require some training, however we will not be able to hide it forever. Eventually the Elders will test you." Megan told her knowing it would be mere months before they required it. "What was your rank and specialty?" she asked needing to know as Daisy shook her head. "You won't believe me if I told you." she said as Jacob looked at them. "That lightning slap she does will leave you reeling for days." he said making Megan's eyes widen again as she looked Daisy up and down. "Jacob, 30." she demanded as he sighed and dropped down and started doing 30 pushups as Daniel looked at her. "I am curious now as well if he is going to comply that easily." Daniel sighed as he walked over to join the two women as the others went about the drills. "I am the first since Jane to Master all 7 forms." Daisy said ooking at the ground and shuffling her feet. "Associate Instructor for the last 2 years, and yes Delta, top of the class and holder of every current school record. Capable of casting from all 7 schools of Magic." "Why would you not be proud of that?" Daniel asked as Megan sat down. "Because she is not a Lycan Orphan, but the next War Chief." Megan said not believing the words coming from her mouth. "I would bet my life on it." Daniel looked at Megan like she had been struck crazy as he shook his head. "We haven't had a war Chief in 70 thousand years." Megan looked at him and smiled as she nodded. "We Lycans know a bit more of the histories than you do, and there is more than one way for a Lycan to be born. I am willing to bet if we do a comparative analysis, she and I will not be blood related." Megan said sure of what she was saying. "What does that mean?" Daisy asked as Megan put her head in her hands and closed her eyes for a moment. "All members of the Lycan Pack are the descendants of Todd and Ashley, as well as the Wolf Mates who were turned. Either way, if you are Lycan your mitochondrial DNA matches directly to Ashley. I would be willing to bet that hers does not." Megan said as she got an idea. "Come with me." she said as she ran to the Pack Clinic. Daisy followed her inside as she walked up to the triage nurse. "What can I help you with?" the nurse asked. "Do you have the equipment for a mitochondrial DNA comparison?" Megan asked her bluntly. "Of course, we are fully equipped." she replied as she set her paperwork down. "I need you to run the comparison between her DNA and mine and tell me if they match in any way." Megan said as the Nurse nodded. "Follow me." she said as she stood up and lead the through a few doors before she got some cotton swabs and had both women sit. The Nurse swabbed both of their cheeks one at a time, and took both samples with her before she disappeared into what was clearly a lab. For 20 minutes the Nurse left them waiting before she walked back in with a printout. "No match whatsoever." the nurse said as Megan smiled. "Do you have the sample for Queen Ashley and War Chief Jane?" Megan asked. "We have the data from their test and can run the analysis." the nurse replied making Megan smile. "Send me both results, and run them again just to make sure. Come with me." Megan said as she grabbed Daisy by the wrist and took off running with her beast aiding her speed. "What does that mean?" Daisy asked when they got to a clearing far from the village and Megan stopped. Megan was pacing back and forth trying to decide how to put it. "Outside of being a descendant of Queen Ashley and War Chief Jane, their is only one other way to become a Lycan." Daisy waited for a minute as Megan continued pacing as she thought. "Well?" she demanded after a minute as Megan stopped. "It is difficult to explain, especially with how much has been hidden since Jane left us, and even before. She never wanted it to be common knowledge among the Wolves, so as not to entice them to do what has happened again. The prophecy of the War Chief is very explicit, and if those tests come back the way I think they will, you very well could be a War Chief." Megan told her bluntly. Daisy sat down as she processed that, and remembered all the times her instructor had compared her to war Chief Jane. It had happened so much she just stopped hearing it. "Tell me." she said. "When Zeus created the Wolves, he ran enough tests trying to create Lycans, that he created a Pack for each of the strains of Todd's venom that creates Werewolves." Megan said as Daisy nodded. "War Chief Jane was the first Wolf to combine all of those seperated strands into a cohesive whole, which made her the second Lycan. She in turn turned Ashley, who as a Human originally, was also pure Lycan. She and Todd began the Lycan Pack, while War Chief Jane's child was born a Wolf. The first in her line to have a Male child in 70,000 years. He later came to be the Alpha King, and his descendants make the Royal Blood Moon Pack."Megan said quickly before she sat down next to Daisy. "She told us that when it happened again, it would be the dawn of a new Era for Wolf Kind, as the next War Chief came to power and made life even better for the Realms again." Megan said before she looked at Daisy and her phone went off with an alert. Both test results were Negative. Daisy was not related to either Jane or Ashley in any way. "I am not sure I can conceal this." Daisy looked at Megan, and knew she was torn between her duty, and her new friendship. "That confirms the prophecy?" she asked as an orb of glowing light filled the clearing and appeared before both of them. It quickly changed intonthe form of a woman, and both knelt before the moon goddess. "Hello my children." Selene said with a smile. "It seems it has happened again." she said looking at Daisy. "It is true than?" Daisy asked as Selene nodded. "That you will be the next War Chief, yes. But the path of Jane will be no guide to you, as your challenges shall be far different." Selene warned her. "What challenges?" Daisy asked confused. Selene smiled as she looked at Daisy. "Each War Chief is called in a time of utter need, in the face of great challenges. I wish it were different my child, but the time has come for the impossible to happen, and you are the only one with the power to achieve the impossible." Daisy shook her head, not wanting to believe what she was hearing. "But why me?" she asked. "Because he is your father, and he has no idea you exist. It is time he came in from the dark, and it will be your journey that determines the outcome." Selene said knowing that what was about to unfold would reshape the future of the Wolf World forever. "Who is my father? What happened to my mother?" Daisy demanded. Selene sighed as she looked at Daisy. "Your mother was named Iris Johanson of the Pearl Pack. Your father is indeed Marcus of the Progue Royals, punished for his betrayal of the War Chief for the last 70,000 years." Daisy shook her head, and knew this significantly complicated things. "She died shortly after your birth, but not before delivering you to the Gray Dawn Pack." Daisy knew that what she had been told was the truth, as Megan looked at the Moon Goddess. "What are we supposed to do?" Daisy looked at Megan, her eyes wide as Selene smiled. "You my dear, shall indeed play a significant part in what is to come. However the path is not mine to walk, nor can I interfere in what you choose War Chief. You alone have the power to effect the outcome, and your choices shall forever reshape the Wolf Nation. For better or ill, the choice is yours alone." she finished saying as she looked at Daisy. "The Rogues are more complex than you can know, as some of them are indeed nothing more than the product of what they have been forced to do to survive. Yet others still are exactly what you have been lead to believe all Rogues are." Selene said before she dissolved intonthe globe of moon light and disappeared with a pop.
