Chapter 17 That Sunday, Maggie looked into Cam’s eyes across the table. “Are you alright?” she asked. Was Cam even thinner than last week? She wasn’t sure she liked the look in Cam’s eyes. Something there was harder—meaner?—than she’d ever seen before. Cam shifted her weight to lean forward on her elbow, careful not to lean too far across the table that divided them. She was aware of the guard that stood at the end of the row of tables, listening and watching. She shook her head. “I don’t know.” Cam ran her hand down her face. “I’m not sure I like what I’m turning into.” She leaned a bit closer. “There was another OD here. I’m taking it personally.
