Chapter 11 Cam cleaned and checked her police revolver for the third time. Since she’d left the office at seven, she hadn’t known what to do with herself. She wanted to call Maggie or Pauly but stopped herself every time she wanted to pick up the phone. She knew that tonight was the night. The “suits”, as Russ called them, had been around for two weeks and Cam knew they’d been watching her closely. She’d even seen a dark burgundy car parked on the corner when she came home and the restaurant on the next block suddenly had a new valet parking cars. She knew her apartment was being watched. Her phone was probably tapped, too. If she really were a thief, as they suspected, she’d just curl up at home with a good book for the next few weeks until this all blew over but she had a job to do.
