Angelica’s POV
We wandered down the corridor and into the assembly hall where they were holding the graduation ceremony. The moment Casey opened the door, the place fell silent and everyone began to stare at our little group. Not that I blame them, it’s not often the school has a visit from the royal triplets. I couldn’t hold back the pink that started to rush to my cheeks as one of the triplets put a protective arm around my shoulders.
I didn’t even realize we had stopped walking as everyone continued to stare. “You need to get your cap and gown” a low voice whispered in my ear. I turned my head to glance at which triplet was talking to me. “I’ll come with you.”
I nodded at Reece as he moved his arm from my shoulder to pick up my hand, and we started to head to the stage area. “What the f**k are you wearing” a loud sinister voice called from the side and I stopped walking. I didn’t need to look to see who was talking, I knew immediately who it was. It was Simeon. “You little b***h, did you pinch my money to buy that dress? You aren’t graduating, you shouldn’t even be here.” I should have known he would try to stop me from graduating even though I passed all my classes with high honors. Even though I wasn’t named Valedictorian, because hey, why would the wofless girl be smarter than everyone else? I was still top of my class and had a right to graduate. Using the excuse as me buying a dress, that’s absurd.
Before I knew it, two other bodies surrounded me. “I beg to differ”, Isaiah said behind me as Caleb took hold of my other hand to keep me moving down the aisle.
I don’t know if it’s because I had three royal members surrounding me or because I was reminded, I am the girl that punched an older student in the nose for pinching my arm on the first day of school, but for some reason I found the courage I lacked to stand tall and glare at Simeon for what he had done to me. “How dare you?” I screamed, finding my voice against him for the first time since I was 12. “I don’t want or need your money to get a dress. My actual father gave this to me. I have done nothing to you except want to be loved and belong to a family and this is how you treat me?”
Simeon’s smirk told me everything. He didn’t care about me and never did. “How dare you talk to your alpha that way” he seethed, a small grin appearing on his face as though he was amused by my boldness. “You will be tried for treason” he added, raising his hand to strike.
Did I cross the line? Goddess, I’m in for it now. I scrunched my eyes closed waiting for the beating to happen, only it didn’t happen. What was going on? I heard a loud growl and I opened my eyes to see Isaiah holding Simeon’s fist and forcing him to his knees. “NOBODY TOUCHES HER, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?” he screamed in Simeon’s face. I can see the anger in all three of the triplet’s faces and… Holy f**k, Simeon looked scared. I’ve never seen him look scared before.
“I apologize for my Alpha’s actions” my mother said, placing her hand on Isaiah’s arm and batting her eyelids at him. Goddess, is that all she knows how to do? Flirt and sleep with someone to get her own way? Isaiah looked down at her hand with a low grumble as she quickly removed it. “Angelica, darling. Can you ask your friends to release your father?”
“My father?” I scoffed, taking a step back to narrow my eyes at my mother. “You dare to call him that, after I told you my actual father gave me this dress?” I scream at her as she took a step back. I point towards Simeon; “He has done nothing to warrant being called that. He has done nothing to warrant being my Alpha. He has hurt and abused me for what, mother? Money that was inherited to me and not you, like you wanted?” I could see the shock on hers and Simeon’s faces when I mentioned the inheritance. Shock I was aiming to get. It didn’t last long, because it turned from shock to anger in a matter of seconds. “Yes, I found out the truth. The truth about who my real father is. I don’t need you. I don’t need this pack and I don’t need your f*****g graduation certificate.”
“I’m going to kill you” Simeon seethed, trying to push past Isaiah as he pushed him further to the ground, not releasing the fist he was holding.
“You will have to kill me first” Isaiah snarled through gritted teeth as gasps echoed around the assembly hall.
I took a step forward, continuing the courage I once lacked. It’s now or never; “I, Angelica Leigh Newton, denounce Simeon Oscar and the Blood Moon Pack as my Alpha and Pack” I shouted, stumbling backwards as my legs began to give way. I’ve been told renouncing a pack can be just as painful as a bond rejection, bringing the member to their knees. Luckily for me, I had four strong arms holding me upright. I may have had six, but the last triplet was still holding Simeon to the ground.
“Where ever you go. I will find you and I will kill you”, Simeon shouted at me from under Isaiah’s weight. I don’t doubt he will. That was until Isaiah bent down and whispered something to him. I couldn’t hear what he said, but the color drained from his face.
“You ungrateful little…” my mother roared, lifting her hand to strike me. Reece dropped my hand and grabbed my mother’s wrist.
“Careful. You’ve already been banished from the werewolf kingdom. You hit her and your life will come to a dramatic end, just like your fathers did for k********g my grandmother” Reece seethed through clenched teeth as Mum dropped her arm. “That’s what I thought. Oh, speaking of nana, she sends her regards. Pity you didn’t hit her, she would have been happy to hear you were finally eradicated.”
Mum stomped her foot, turning quickly before storming off to the back of the assembly hall. “This was exciting” Caleb said with a chuckle beside me. “Mrs Robinson, can I have Angelica and Casey’s graduation certificate. I think we have overstayed our welcome here.”
“Umm… I have Casey’s” she said, her eyes dropping to the ground, not able to look me in the eye. She doesn’t have mine. I should have known I was never going to get a graduation certificate. I can’t go to university without it.
“Yes, you can” Caleb whispered beside me as I twisted myself to look at him. “The scholarship will still stand. All you need to do is take the entrance exam.”
Great, another bit of information I didn’t know about. Why does everyone want to keep me here? “They can’t now, princess” Caleb said as I jumped at his new nickname for me. That was something I wasn’t expecting. Caleb laughed, rolling his eyes at me.
“Yo… You have a scholarship?” Mrs Robinson asked me, coming over to wrap me in her arms. She had never done this before and I tensed at her touch, not understanding what exactly she was doing. “What university are you attending? I’m sure we can work something out with your entry.”
“You do, and you’ll be banished” Simeon shouts, still on the ground, even though Isaiah had let him go. Whatever he said to him, must have really struck a nerve.
“f**k you” Mrs Robinson yelled, pulling her arms away to stand beside me. “I, Renee Kelly Robinson, denounce Simeon Oscar and the Blood Moon Pack as my Alpha and pack.”
She began to tremble as Aston came from behind to catch her. I never noticed this before, but he had love and admiration towards the high school teacher. Were they an item? “Is that what you are thinking about at the moment, princess?” Caleb whispered in my ear, causing goosebumps to spring up on my arms. He grinned and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
He was right though; I should be concentrating on the fact Mrs Robinson had just denounced the pack too. I glance around me as Aston, still holding onto Renee, steps forward. “I, Aston James Matherson, denounce Simeon Oscar and the Blood Moon Pack as my Alpha and pack.”
“I, Casey Marie Matherson, denounce Simeon Oscar and the Blood Moon Pack as my Alpha and pack.”
In fact, there were 8 other members who denounced the pack, two families and Mrs Robinson. The other family was Simeon’s gamma, Blair, his mate Courtney and children Lewis, Evelyn and Quinten. “I wish to seek asylum in the werewolf kingdom”, Blair said to Reece, who looked at Caleb. He nodded with a smile before looking down at me. “We all do.”
“Courtney, you can’t leave. We’ve been friends since we were pups” Mum shrieked from the back of the assembly hall. I didn’t know this.
Courtney scoffed, turning on her heels to stare at mum. “Correction, we may have been friends. We stopped being friends the moment you laid hands on your daughter. And what’s this about an inheritance she is receiving and not you? Is that why she’s here in the first place? I knew you were a self-centered b***h but to use your own daughter for your own personal gain. f**k you.”
I couldn’t help the tears that welled up in my eyes. I didn’t know the Gamma even knew I existed. “If you leave, you will never be able to return” Simeon’s voice echoed through the assembly hall. Blair let off a snort, indicating he didn’t care. “LEAVE… NOW.”
“That’s my cue” Caleb said, releasing my shoulders and waving his hands in front of him. What is he doing? “You’ll see” he said, reaching out to grab my hand before taking a step forward. As I stepped towards him, the whole area changed, and I looked around me. What the actual f**k?
“Welcome home” another deep male voice said as I looked into the eyes of King Nicholas Jackman before everything went black.
