"Ok today you learn your first recipe," Pete announced when Cassie walked on Friday at eight in the morning.
"Oh yay" Cassie responded in the flattest voice she could muster.
" I'm serious. You have proven your worth in cleaning. You can start cooking," he told her smiling so bright she still did not trust him.
"Really?" Cassie asked just to be sure.
They had made her wipe the kitchen cupboard Thursday and today she was expecting to be scrubbing floors or something back-breaking.
"Yep."
