Glynn's P.O.V.
I searched the entire park and was about to circle back towards the pond when I almost ran into an older lady. " Excuse me, have you seen a young woman about this height with blonde hair?" I asked desperately. She looked at me and smiled, " Ahh, so you must be the young beau. She is sitting on the bench over that hill there. If I were you, I wouldn't let that one get away" she chuckled. " I don't plan on it ma'am. Thank you" I said as I ran over the hill and saw Kelly just staring out at the lake. " I've been looking all over for you, thank god your safe" I said as I captured her in my arms and held her close. She kissed my cheek and I released her. " I'm sorry for worrying you, but I was upset about that woman who was hanging on your arm" " You mean my secretary Jackie? You have nothing to worry about Darling, she has tried for years to get all of this, but never suceeded" I jokingly said as she began to laugh. " You think so highly of yourself, don't you?" she said as she stood up and put her hand on her hip. " Well I do actually, thank you for confirming it for me" I said as I grabbed her hand and led her back to the Jeep. " Now, we need to get home because I am starving and would like some one on one time with my girlfriend." Kelly stopped in her tracks, " Girlfriend?" she stammered out and I smirked. I brought her close to me as her intoxicating smell surrounded me. I leaned in and pecked her lips, " Yes my girlfriend" as she smiled and her eyes shone so bright as the sun was setting in the west.
We headed back to the house and once we both got back inside, I attacked Kelly with everything I had. I couldn't get enough of her and I never wanted to stop feeling this way. We kissed passionately as we sat down on my couch and began to make out. I laid her down and she was so just happy, I couldn't help but want to kiss every part of her body. I began to undo her buttons on her blouse but she stopped me and looked at me with a sad look on her face. " What's wrong Darling?" as I sat up and she did as well. " We need to talk" she said as she sat with her hands in her lap, looking like she lost her best friend. Nothing ever came good out of those words.
Kelly's P.O.V.
I wanted to go all the way with Glynn, but I couldn't do that without clearing the air between us. What Evelyn and I discussed meant something to me and I needed him to know how I felt about what was going on between us and how I felt about the land development in my hometown. I sat across from him, hoping he would understand. " Glynn, I need to tell you the whole truth about how I'm feeling right now. Until I'm finished, can you just listen?" as I looked up into his face and he nodded. " This must really be important huh?''
" Yeah, it is" I said as I began. "When my mom died, the place where we met a few days ago was always her's and I's safe haven. It was the only place that was secluded enough that we could be free and some of my best memories are in that natural area that you want to turn into a land development. I know it means alot of money for you and your company, but I have to fight for it somehow. I can't let you just destroy such a beautiful piece of property on top of some of the best memories I have of my mother. I know you probably don't understand but I needed you to know my position about this whole deal. I'm falling for you but I will not allow this to come in between us" I said as I took a breathe, waiting for his response. " So you're telling me that your afraid your feelings are going to intefere with this land development that I have going?" he asked and I nodded "Yes". He sat back on the couch, " hmm.. well I truly don't know what to say. This is a huge issue, I've already got everything figured out for the land to be developed. I am just waiting on the EPA to finalize the plans" he said as I felt my heart breaking in two. I knew this would never last and that I would never have a fairy tale ending. " I understand, I will leave in the morning" I said as I walked into the guest bedroom and he never followed me.
