Chapter 7

Kelly's P.O.V.

" From the extent of the damages to your vehicle, it looks like it was Arson" Jeff Tucker said. He was the first firefighter on scene and tried to put it out but it was too far gone. He was Brent's older brother and we had always gotten along. " I'm so sorry Kelly. Who would have done this?" He asked me as I hugged Mac and he was holding me like a daughter. " I don't know really..." then last night's episode flashed through my mind.

" Wait... my dad" " Daniel?" Mac said. " Yes, he got mad at me last night, screaming at me wanting money. Then Glynn, pushed him away from me before he hurt me again" as Glynn walked up and shook Mac's hand. " Glynn Worthington" he said as he shook Jeff's hand as well. " Well I'm glad you helped my girl out last night " Mac snorted as I just punched him in the stomach. " Owww" he said playfully as I just hit his arm. " Do you see this? She's beating me up" Mac joked with me as Jeff laughed and Glynn just stared at me. " I've got to look at my Jeep and see if insurance is going to be able to help me out" I said sadly as I got my phone out. All ny belongings, everything that I owned was in my Jeep. Now I definitely had nothing. I sat on the curb, looking at the ashes of my vehicle and leaving a message for my insurance agent to call me back.

" Ugh.. Can this week get any more trying?" I said as Glynn walked over to me. " So what did they say?" " No answer, it's Sunday. Probably won't hear anything till tomorrow. Till then I guess I'm a foot with no clothes on my back" as I just put my face in my hands. My father knew how much this Jeep meant to me, I knew it had to be him. He was mad at me and I wanted to go over there and beat the crap out of him but it was useless.

Glynn looked down on me, " Come on, let's go back to the house and talk" he said firmly. " I can't do that, you barely know me and after all of this, I'm just spent " I said as I took his hand and stood up. " Please Kelly..." he pleaded. How could I say no?

I said my goodbyes to Mac and Jeff, Mac making sure that I had his number in case I needed him.

Glynn and I went back to the lake house and as we got out, he came over to my passenger side and helped me out. " Come on, I want to talk to you about something " Glynn said as we walked back into the house and I just collapsed on the couch. He got us two bottles of water and I thanked him. " So for one, I want to know the deal with your father, how close is your relationship?" I explained to him that it used to be great until my mother died. " But I already told you all of that" I said as he nodded. " I know I just wanted to make sure. Just curious, do you have any college under your belt?" As he leaned back into the couch and I could see his business side coming out. " Yes actually, I'm finishing up with my last CPA class. I've got to get it approved to finish online but if not then I don't know what I'll do" I said as the biggest smile came upon his face. " Perfect" he said as I asked, " What do you mean?" I asked. He leaned forward and grabbed my hands, " What would you say to coming to work for me as a CPA?" " Are you serious?" I said a little loudly. " Of course, personally you shouldn't stay around here and I would love for you to finish up your college while working for me " he said. " Is there any other reason why you would be doing this?" I asked him warily. He smirked, then leaned forward to kiss me. " Yes, I have my own selfish reasons. I want you all to myself" he whispered against my lips.

I was taken aback, this man wanted me, ME?! I was country and proud of it, but never had any man treat me the way he had in the last forty eight hours. " But why?" I asked him. He gently pecked my lips, " Kelly, ever since I first met you, I cannot get you out of my head. You know we have something here and I want to explore it with you. As a token of my good faith and not making you feel pressured about this, here take it" he said as he handed me the keys to his black Jeep. I held the keys in my hand and pushed them back towards him, " I can't take this. It's way too much" as I tried to give him his keys back. " No, I don't want them. I want to take care of you " he said as he looked deep into my eyes. " If you ever feel uncomfortable or don't feel like this is working out, you have a vehicle to leave in" he said plain and simply as though it was nothing for him to give away something as expensive as that. " One request though " he smirked at me. " Anything" I said as he laughed and pulled me onto his lap. " Be careful, I will hold you to that" as he started kissing my neck and I felt myself relax against his hard body. " I need a ride home first" he chuckled against my back and I turned to face him. " I think I can manage that" as I straddled his lap and he took my head and put his hands in my hair as he started to gently kiss my lips, then ravished it by planting his tongue in my mouth and I melted under his touch.

Glynn's P.O.V

As we sat on the couch making out, I could feel myself being turned on by Kelly and her rubbing up against me. My phone went off and we pulled apart as I grabbed it from the table. " Hello" I said breathlessly. " Hmm..what's my big brother up to?" Griffin said as I ignored his comment. " What do you want?" " Just wanted to let you know I got all the forms and fixed. There are a couple interviews for the CPA position in the morning, you want me to handle that?" " No, go ahead and cancel them. I've already got somebody " I said smiling as Kelly blushed. " hmm, you've got some explaining to do" Griffin replied. " You'll find out soon enough, see you tomorrow. I'm coming home tomorrow anyway" " oh coming home early, this should be good. See you then" he said as he hung up. " Who was that?" Kelly asked. I pulled her back onto my lap. " My annoying little brother, you'll meet him tomorrow at the office " " You were being serious weren't you?" She said. " I was and I am about...us.." " What about us?" She smirked. " Well for starters, I want to see what's under these shorts" as I began to massage her legs and get closer to her core. She leaned her head back. " Can we take it slow?" She asked me. " Of course" as I kissed her. " You tell me when your ready" I said. She nodded in agreement. " I've got an idea, why don't you grab your things, we'll go shopping before we head to my place in Dallas and we can go over your job duties. " Okay " she breathed out.

I didn't want her to be overwhelmed but it felt so right with her and I wasn't going to let her out of my sight.

I hurried and packed my things and as I walked downstairs, Kelly was cleaning up the kitchen. " Babe, you don't have to do that. The cleaning lady will come by tomorrow and do that" she stopped and stared at me. " What?" I shrugged my shoulders. " You keep calling me that.....why?" She said as she looked scared. " Because I want to, does that bother you?" I asked her and she nodded. " Well then I will come up with something else to call you" as I went and hugged her tightly and I felt her relax. " You ready to go?" " Of course" she said as I locked up the house and we jumped into my Jeep. We were heading west and I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
