CHAPTER TWO

The class was over and the class was too noisy as everyone talks about the teacher and the new topics they learnt. Jerry and Eva quickly packed up their jotting notes and are about to leave when suddenly      a hand grabbed at Jerry’s trouser ‘where is my money you borrowed and promised to give me today? Bryan asked. Bryan is a popular and in fact the rich guy among the fresher’s.  He has a BMW 2019 latest model which cost about $100,000 and the ladies admired him. ‘I am sorry I don’t have the money now but I promised to give you back tomorrow when I come to class, said Jerry. Jerry borrowed $50 from Bryan to use it for transports within the week and promised to pay him today but he has no money to pay back.

Bryan did not actually need the money urgently, but wants to humiliate Jerry and also expose him for being poor and make a show off to others that he has much that he can borrow out. ‘If you did not pay me back by tomorrow morning, I will raise the amount to $70 for been late in paying at the actual time’ says Bryan. Jerry quickly agreed and left the class in shame.

The student laughed and talk about what happen. ‘How poor is this Jerry that he can’t raise $50 for himself’ some student said. Jerry’s cousin Tasha, was always regretting why she become a relative to Jerry. She always thought of Jerry as a bad luck, disgrace and embarrassment to her family personality.

Jerry and Eva went to the noodles shop restaurant nearby. That’s their usual spot during the lunch break. She wasn’t happy with Jerry for collecting money from Bryan without informing her. Eva has been helping Jerry with the little she has, to carter for his transport to school. Jerry thought it was too much on Eva and never wanted to disturb her for money. ‘Please you have to payback Bryan his money tomorrow morning before he adds the charges’ said Eva. Jerry promised to do so even though he is not sure of where he can get the money from.

Tasha went home angrily and told her mom about what happen in school and how humiliated she felt. Her mom was not really surprise because she knew Jerry will soon be in trouble towards money problems. ‘Oh common darling you shouldn’t be worried, at least he will stop coming to school when he has no money left’ said Mrs Adam. When Bryan beats him up and called the police to arrest him, you won’t be bothered and also get humiliated in school’ Mrs Adam said again.

When Jerry reaches home, he quietly went to Tasha’s room door and knocked. ‘Come in’ said Tasha. When Jerry enters the room, he saw Tasha in her sleeping rope dress; he wouldn’t want to look her further before he thinks more negative thoughts on his cousin. ‘Tasha about what happen today, please borrow me some money to pay Bryan back before he makes additional money on the initial’ says Jerry. Tasha knew exactly why Jerry came and she knew he will come to her so she had made up a story to tell him. ‘I don’t have any money to give you; you should look for the money elsewhere and payback Bryan before tomorrow morning or else you wouldn’t want to know what Bryan would do to you’ says Tasha. Bryan’s father is a constructive officer. He has the largest company in the Maltin City. He constructs most of the tall buildings and also the university his child is in now. Jerry would not want to be in trouble with the rich family and was thinking on how to pay back the money.

He quickly remembers the toy car he repaired earlier and immediately left Tasha’s room to call the owner. He immediately called and asks the owner to come get the toy car. Jerry was fully relaxed as he will have some cash at least to face Bryan.

As the toy car owner arrived at Mr Adams residence, Jerry came out with the toy car and handed over the toy to the owner. The toy owner tested the car with the remote and it was working perfectly and asked Jerry how much it cost for the repair. Jerry was so comfortable and there was a little bit of hope as he glares with an extreme smile. He charged him $70 because of the new parts he replaced with the damaged ones. The owner handed him the money and Jerry went into the garage happily. He has money to pay Bryan’s debt and extra money to pay for his transport and eats lunch at school.
