The man stared intently at his mother's grave, then placed a bouquet of white roses on it. This is the reason he is reluctant to visit his mother's grave, especially because he visits it with other people. The feeling of longing is hard to contain, he tries to look strong even though he feels sad in his heart.
The woman who is at peace with God is the greatest woman in her life. Elise taught him to survive even in difficult situations, even when they had to live in poverty, because suddenly Immanuel stopped sending money and ended up abandoning them both.
He knew what it was like to be poor, to struggle even to eat. The reason he stayed was because he didn't want to experience that kind of hardship again in the future, relinquishing his right as one of the sons of the Galloway family to his half-brother—William Galloway.
He glanced at Immanuel, who was standing still without the slightest expression. "Apparently, you are a very shameless person," he said.
Immanuel, who felt disturbed, immediately turned to him. "Why do you always want to argue every time you talk to Dad?" he protested.
"I thought one day you would sob in front of your mother's grave because of guilt. Apparently, I had too much hope in an arrogant man like you."
Immanuel took a deep breath. "A man's feelings don't have to be shown by expression or behavior."
"You're just bragging."
The old man let his son think as he wished. He was too tired to argue with Alexander at that time. He looked back at the grave of the late woman he loved so much. When tears were about to fall, he immediately held them so as not to shed even the slightest tears.
He who is used to keeping his feelings hidden doesn't want to show how vulnerable he is, especially in front of his son, who is the only hope he has right now. "William came yesterday with his girlfriend, he discussed marriage," he said, changing the subject.
"So? Are you going to force me to get married right away too?”
“Yes, I think you are also ready to get married. Choose one of the daughters from a big family, they will be good to be partners in working together.”
Hearing that, how angry Alexander was at his father. Elise taught him many things, especially about the sacredness of marriage, his message before he died even asked him to find the woman he loved and live a happy life. But Immanuel, on the other hand, the man actually pushed him to do things he didn't want.
"I can find a business partner without marrying her," he insisted.
"Marriage is a solid form of cooperation, you don't have to be afraid of being betrayed--"
"Tch! You are advising the wrong person. Don't talk about disgusting things like that. I don't want to hear it again. If you dare to interfere in my personal affairs, don't blame me if you will later on the agreement we have agreed on," he threatened.
Immanuel took a deep breath. "At least stop messing with those bitches."
Hearing that, how angry Alexander was. The news about him frequently changing partners was a rumor that William had done to damage his image, but he didn't think that Immanuel would also believe in such ridiculous things.
"You believe the rumours?"
"I'm trying to believe it, but seeing a girl walk into your hotel room and leave in the morning made me think again."
Alexander clenched his jaw. “You are following me?!”
"I was just watching you. Why are you judging him like I'm a stalker?”
“Are you so free that you keep stalking like that? Stop doing that to me, I'm getting sick of it!"
Immanuel stared at his son intently. "While we're on the same side, you had better get used to being kept under surveillance."
Alexander was speechless, the old man in front of him really irritated him. "But I think you've misunderstood. That girl is my lover,” he said.
"Really? What family does she come from?” asked Immanuel enthusiastically.
"You don't need to know, so stop intruding into my private life."
The man returned to his mother's grave, then kissed the tombstone before leaving. "Mom, I'll go first. It's suffocating in here," he whispered.
Ignoring Immanuel, the man walked away, leaving the old man who was now staring at the grave of his lover with a look full of regret. After the son left, tears began to fall. He looked down when he saw Elise's name written on the tombstone. "I'm sorry, Lise ... I did it for our child," he whispered.

Tonight was a busy night for Lucia. After considering many things, she finally decided to move to another city with her grandmother, who was now lying weakly in the hospital. She returned to her apartment to collect her belongings, and took the remaining deposit for the apartment rent that she had paid for 1 full year. Of course, this is a difficult choice, but she needs time to calm herself, away from past memories which, of course, are very painful.
She also decided to withdraw the deposit money for the house where her grandmother lived, all of the money she would later use to start everything again with Samantha in their new city later.
"I really regret your sudden decision, Miss Lucia," said the owner of the apartment where she lived.
"I don't really want to move either, but grandma is sick, so I can't stay in this city, madam."
The woman reached into her pocket, then took out an envelope containing Lucia's deposit. "That's $1,500 in total, of course, minus the fine."
"Thank you Madam. In that case, I'll take my leave first."
"Yes, goodbye, Miss."
Lucia walked away, carrying her meager belongings. Shortly after he left, a luxury car stopped right in the courtyard of the apartment, making a scene for the other apartment residents who lived there.
The owner of the car was, of course, Alexander Galloway. He immediately went to find Lucia after the funeral. He quickly went to the apartment that Lucia had occupied before. There, the apartment owner, who had just finished checking the condition of the apartment, was surprised by his arrival.
“Y-you are Mr Alexander Galloway, right?”
"Is this Lucia Lancester's house?" he asked, ignoring her.
"O-oh, yes. But, now that Miss Lucia has moved, just now.”
Hearing that, Alexander snorted in annoyance. "Do you know where she's going?"
"Looks like she wants to stay in the village, but I don't know for sure either, sir."
"Do you have her cell phone number?"
"Yes, sir. Just a second…” she took out his cell phone and showed Lucia's number on it. "Here, sir."
Alexander then copied the number, then immediately called her. But unfortunately, Lucia had already deactivated the number and discarded it as an attempt to forget the past. "s**t! Are you trying to run away from me?!”
