The Last One

Ten years

    Ten years have passed and now I'm 17. Just about to get the hell out of school I noticed Connor talking to a red haired girl like the playboy that he is. I roll my eyes and he noticed this so he starts kissing the girl in front of me. 

    "Thank the Goddess he is not our mate", Rylee said.

    Of course, Eden agrees cuz Eden doesn't like Connor. She can bear him but she doesn't like him. It is not like I LOVE him but I kind of like him since he's my stupid brother. 

    "Fake brother", corrected Eden. I suppress a smile and get to my car so I can leave and play tag with the pups. When I'm about to get in someone grabs me by my waist. 

    "Hey cupcake", said Axel trying to lead me closer to him. Before I could react Connor was getting his hands off me.

    "Don't ever touch my sister", he said with a growl. Axel saw this as a challenge, they were both Alpha. Their eyes were pitch black already and if I stayed like a damsel in distress they will start fighting and my car is going to take punches too so NOPE. I put one hand in each other chest and pull them apart. 

    "Gentlemen we're definitely not doing this now", I said and gave a stern look at each other. After some seconds that seemed to be hours, Axel smirked and left while Connor wanted to erase his smirk. So I immediately put both hands on Connor. "Stay still", I said and his eyes were turning from black to green. 

    "Why?", he asked me. I knew why he was asking. In other situation, I would have let Connor kick his ass. Also, our pack is strong enough to deal with his pack. His pack may be strong but in the past, we have dealt with the Dark Moon Pack and his pack wasn't different.

    "It's Thursday, Connor. I want to get home and play with the pups", I replied like it was the obvious thing on earth. 

    "Liar. Don't tell me he's your mate because I swear to the Goddess that your mate's an asshole", he said amused. 

    I punched him playfully and he laughs at me. 

    "Nope", I said with an emphasis on the 'p'. "And I don't want an Alpha for a mate", I said joining his laugh. 

    "Well, see you around, cupcake", he mocked. 

    "Jerk", I tell him before I get inside the car. 

    Just when I'm about to leave, Gary gets in the car.

    "What the f**k are you doing here?", I shout at him and he shivers with my Alpha voice. 

    "Hide me, please", he begged. 

    I turn my eyes to the front and see his worst nightmare, Claire. 

    "Don't tell me you slept with Claire's sister", I said getting pale by the second.

    "Yes", he almost cries. 

    Without a second thought, I turn my baby on and get the hell out of there before she notices that Gary's almost dead body is inside my car. On our way to the territory, I scold him for being an asshole. 

    "I told you not to sleep with Claire's sisters but what the hell did you do? Oh right, sleep with Claire's youngest sister. You are definitely the dumbest friend I have!", I tell him in disbelief. He wasn't looking at me or the road but instead at his hands like a pup. I sighed in frustration because I knew I was being too harsh on him. "Was it worth it?", I ask changing my tone to a mocking one. Because I couldn't be mad at my best playboy friend for too long. 

    "Well, considering the fact that she literally destroyed my Camaro, it wasn't", he admitted laughing. 

    "That b***h sure is mad. I don't know her mate but I'm starting to feel sorry for him"

    "Tell me about it, I know him", he admits.

    "f**k! Who is he?", I try to suppress a tear from laughing.

    "Me"

    I stopped the car immediately and he almost comes out of the windshield. 

    "What?", I snapped. He just only nodded. "You are kidding me, right?", I ask just to make sure is a bad joke but he doesn't answer. "You are so screwed"

    "Yeah, the thing is that I didn't sleep with her sister", he finally says sighing heavily. 

    "Why you didn't say so?", I asked still surprised by the news. 

    "She believes her sister more than me and you thought the same when I told you that I did", he admitted. 

    "I believe you because I trust you. Honestly, I didn't know about the rumor 'till you got in my car", I say with a small smile. He tries to smile back at me but his smile fades away as soon as appears. I caressed his cheek and he leans to my touch. "We'll fix this, I promise", I assure him with a big smile. 

    "I hope so. I don't know what to do without her", he said almost at the edge. 

    "Hey! Heads up, your crown is falling", I said in an attempt to make him smile but instead burst into laughter. I start driving again as nothing happened.

    "f**k! Don't start with that s**t, please. I mean thanks for cheering me up but don't ever say that again", he says laughing at my stupid comment.

    "It works on your sister", I remind him.

    "Yeah, her mate is a pain in the ass", he says trying not to talk about it. 

    "Well, maybe at tonight's party I can talk to Claire", I change the topic.

    "Would you really do that?", asks with wide eyes.

    "Of course, pup. What are friends for?", I say even if he's the same age as me.

    "Wait I thought you were going to play with the pups today", he said confused.

    "I will, but you are also a pup at this very moment", I winked at him. 

    "Asshole", he replies.

    "Jerk"

    "b***h"

    "Stupid"

    "w***e"

    "Walking STD", I finally said when we arrive.

    "Wait what?"

    I ignore Gary as I got out of the car. Walking through the pack house to find my dad's office takes me no time. I'm about to knock when a strange scent hit me. How I didn't notice before? I was way too distracted with Gary. Paying more attention to my bond with dad I knew he wasn't comfortable with the visitors. 

    "Hide your scent", was Eden's fast reply to our new visitors. 

    I did as she told me and then Rylee said, "Room now!". Rylee was a carefree wolf but when she was serious something was really off. In less than I expected, I was in my room panting. I waited 'till dad knocked my door.
