The Last One

Connor

    A boy got into the office and by his scent, I could tell he was Leo's son. 

    "We have a brother!", said Rylee waving her tail.

    Rylee was happy to meet our new brother but Eden was quite enough for me to tell that she wasn't that happy. I could tell she didn't trust him at first sight. 

    Leo put me on the floor and I remembered that I was still in pajamas. The next thing I know is that I was standing in front of Connor and Leo was still behind his desk. 

    "Connor, she's Lilah. She will be staying with us", Leo introduced me.

    Connor's eyes were flying to Leo and me. I wasn't sure what to do so I offered my hand.

    "Nice to meet you", I finally said. Connor took my hand and said, "Nice to meet you too".

    "Both of you will train together", said Leo with a hint of expectation in his voice. 

    My wolves were happy to hear training from Leo but when he said training I though he would train us. It's been a month since I got here. Everyone knows me, even Kyle who was curious at the beginning. Kyle is the best tracker of the pack and every morning we share breakfast. If I'm not doing homework or training I look for Kyle so we can watch movies together. And when I say look for Kyle I mean track him. He's only 17 and is the best tracker, when we get bored of the TV he helps me with my training skills. 

    Connor, on the other hand, wants to be better than me at training. When Mason paired us to fight each other he tries so bad at the point that Eden wants to kick his ass. Sometimes I let him win cuz it seems so important to him that I just let him. But today is not every day of training, Leo is here watching closely at the pack members train. Once again Mason pairs me with Connor and I look at Mason with pleading eyes but he doesn't notice or maybe he just ignored the fact that I want to kick his ass but not in front of his father. I sigh in defeat and position myself to fight. I wasn't even paying attention to Connor, who was in front of me. I sniffed and just like that time, something was different. My whole body got tense and my wolves were warning me that something was wrong. Then, Connor approached me and I dodge him. Every single move was predictable and Eden took control of me. She step aside from Connor and ran towards the smell. 

    "What are you doing?", asked Leo through the mindlink. 

    I took control and Eden rolled her eyes at the Alpha's question. I ran toward the smell, I was getting closer and then I saw it. A dozen of rogues and the warrior's blood spilled all over the place. They caught my scent and snarled at me. Rylee took control this time and shift. It was fast as if I have shifted before but I couldn't tell. I snarled back showing my teeth. 

    "Rogues!", I shouted through the mindlink. 

    The rogues were trying to kill me but I was obviously smaller and slippery. I couldn't manage a dozen of rogues on my on but I could keep them busy while the real warriors came. 

    The first one to come was Kyle he looked at me worried and then surprised and I didn't know why. He started attacking the big one and I helped him bitting his paws. Then Leo came and took half of them like they were flies. The others were taken down by Carter and some warriors. The fight was over and Kyle came to me like a big brother.

    "Are you ok?", he asked through the mindlink. 

    "I'm ok", I simply reply.

    Unsatisfied with my answer he starts to look for any injuries and when he's done sits in front of me expectantly. 

    "You are the very first female to shift with only seven years. You really are something", he said amused. 

    I was about to say something when we heard a loud growl. Leo was furious at me. Kyle flinched away and Leo was, in no time, in front of me. His black wolf ten times bigger than mine, I was just a pup. If I didn't know him I would say he wants to kill me. I lowered my ears and hid my tail, I knew he was mad at me for coming here alone. 

    "Take care of this mess", he said through the mindlink before opening his mouth and take me by my loin. 

    At first I thought he would lead me to the pack house but instead, he led me to the river that was in the territory. He led me down with delicacy. My white fur only had blood from the rogue and I think he also knew that but didn't utter a word. 

    "Don't ever do that again. I was so scared", he said with his muzzle on my neck. I knew he was saying the truth, the bond was still there and before he got to the fight I could feel him getting anxious.

    "I'm sorry", was the only thing I could say to him. Eden wasn't sorry, the only thing Eden was sorry was that she didn't shift, the one that shift was Rylee and she was happy to do so. 

    Leo took my scent and led me closer to him. I couldn't help but wave my tail. Since I met Connor I haven't seen Leo and it felt like ages. It was like I was missing something and it was him. The only thing that kept me from crying while sleeping was him but I never saw him the next morning. Leo was like a ghost but now he wasn't and I was happy about it. 

    After that day, Leo decided to train me after school. We trained every day near the river, he knew I loved that place. I told Leo about the existence of Eden and Rylee, he didn't look surprised when I told him about it. He told me not to tell a single soul about it and I nodded. Later I discovered that it wasn't common having two wolves but one. Leo knew I was the strongest warrior in the pack and he decided that I had to take the task of Luna to keep me safe and out of the spotlight. Until one powerful pack came in asking for me.
