While we're on the subject of oddities related to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, let's visit a little comic series that almost was. Back in 2007, I had the brainstorm of creating a single-page comic for Johnstown Magazine. When I pitched it to one of the editors, she seemed to love the idea...but she wanted to see samples. So off I went, whipping up a series of sample scripts for the first six installments of the proposed series, which I called Made in J-Town. The first one was straight-up humor, but I wrote the others with Harvey Pekar's autobiographical style from American Splendor in mind.
