CHAPTER 12

1545 Words
Rey wanted to close her eyes, to see if what she had done earlier with her grandmother could at least work, but she didn't. She briefly looked around, it was past midnight and except for the birds chirping all over, there was a stillness around her and as she stared at the huge wall of protection right in front of her she knew exactly what she wanted to do. Only built by iron sheets and wood to strengthen the lower part, she smiled at how naive they all were and then she allowed herself to loosen up while she took in very heavy breathes and in a split second she could feel it, she saw the fire blazing inside own eyes and she allowed it to go through her, all the way to her hands, she felt the sudden increase of nothing but pure energy, a great source of immense fire just evaporating inside her waiting to be released and while she slowly opened the palm of her hands there was nothing but fire and she lifted her hands up high and threw one blast. "Dont you think this is a bit too much?" Vee who was just watching her in utter silence asked. "An just getting started." Rey answered as she let the fire blaze all over while she kept the fire off from her hands and then she let the air within transfer all over the wall of protection and as she caught sight of the fire spreading she stepped back and watched the fire burning. "This, this isn't you." "We make our own people get revenge for any wrong doings to our enemies why not them?" Rey asked Vee. "Because they are human people Princess, that's why." "It doesn't make any difference, I brought this on Ellen and her people, I have yo fix things." Rey tried to explain. "Princess, you don't even feel like what you've just done is in anyway wrong, this isn't like you, this isn't who you are." "Then I guess we can just blame the darkness, can't we?" Rey shot her eyes at Vee from the watch on her wrist. "You know better than I do, that it's there you can feel it as much as I can, that it's controlling some of your feelings." "Quit acting like the queen okay! You are not my mother Vee, and you do not get to tell me what I should and shouldn't do!" Rey lashed out almost ripping off the watch but she stopped herself. "Everything that was written is all true. 'In her anger shall the boloved crown princess change form. Through her dazzling green eyes turned by the darkness to fiery brown exhumes a great blaze of fire.' The more you let the darkness control you keep in mind Octus Nova may be left without a future noble and true queen, the one with the purest heart." In the most hurtful way, Vee said in a very soft voice and her words cut Rey deep, very deep but before Rey could say absolutely anything to her she shut herself off. "Vee..." Rey panicked. "Vee come on." She tried calling out to her but the watch remained shut. She rubbed her temples in anger contemplating what to do but she stood still, she could hear them, the roaring wails, although from a distance she heard them all and in a split second everything that was covering the wall of Westworlds was down to ashes seeing that she took off.                                 ****** "Where could she have gone?" Eli paced back and forth in the living room it was thirty minutes to 3am, and it was evident just how worried he was. "How would I know?" Ellen shrugged in her sit, typical Ellen she wasn't to show emotions but the ones to helps others with them but then the way she was fidgeting her fingers was enough for her brother. "Rey doesn't know this place too well, I don't think she could have gone far." Haley said. "And." She yawned. "She will be back, I know that."She added staring hard at the sofa Rey usually slept on. "I just got a text from my dad, the walls of Westworld have just collapsed." Halsey coming out of the kitchen said to them, she had checked every room to just reassure herself that no one was playing a joke on her about Rey missing, boy was she wrong but she didn't dare admit that. "Collapsed?" Ellen raised an eyebrow at her from the sofa. "It was set on fire." Halsey answered her. "What?" Eli asked shocked. "Yap, that has just happened, it's bad, they are trying to put out the fire because apparently it was spreading in mysterious ways." Halsey said. "It couldn't have been her? Could it?" Eli asked but they all just shook their heads there was no questioning what he meant, they knew all too well that he meant Rey and as they all took Halsey and Eli took their respective sits, exhausted, sleepy and tired they had only one thing in mind, that Rey couldn't have been the main cause of what they all heard. ****** As the sun was just beginning to appear Rey stood still, the position she had been for over six hours. She allowed herself to close her eyes and she listened, listened to her heart beating, listened to everything around her surrounding, the calmness in the air around her. She shivered a little maybe because of how chilly it had been the entire night, or maybe because she just had on a plain grey t-shirt and some black jeans, the same ones she had borrowed from Ellen but she still didn't understand what prompted her body to feel how cold it was, but she knew, she knew that some of the things that were happening to her were not a part of who she was but she didn't have time to think about that she had something important to do so she focused, focused on trying to reach him. Trying to search for his heartbeat from a distance seemed so futile, so she tried something she thought could work. "Eyken...It's me Rey..." She slowly rubbed her engagement ring with her thumb, her eyes still closed. "I-I really need you, I did so many wrong things today and I know I can't fix what I've done. I just.. I need you here, grandma said you will help me so I need that help. Come get me back home." She was concentrating so much on getting to just hear his thoughts that she didn't notice Ellen, Eli, Halsey and Halsey standing beside her until Ellen tapped her shoulder. "I-I." She mumbled facing them, there was worry in their eyes and either she was reading her own feelings wrong or something else was wrong because she just felt drawn to just how worried they were for her. "You don't have to explain." Eli tried to lighten up the mood. "I had to help." Rey said to Halsey totally ignoring Eli. "But I couldn't stop." "It was you, you are responsible for that fire?" Haley asked her. "It was all me." Rey breathed. "But how?" They all asked. "I can create fire with my mind and let it all out using my hands." She explained briefly and they just watched startled by her revelation. "I am not going to hurt you." She reassured them. "So why are you here?" Eli asked and she turned to him a'd stared at him for a while. "This is where your sister and Haley found me and my grandmother said I need to get my fiancé to come to me, that he can help." Then she answered. "Oh." Eli just swallowed hard and evaded her eyes. "How much damage was done Halsey?" Rey shot her eyes on her left side where Halsey stood. "They are trying to pick up everything form what I've heard so far, some people lost their homes and..." She paused for a while. "And some lost their lives, particularly the guards." She added. "Okay, they won't stop now until they get their revenge now." Rey said dryly. "I know." Halsey sighed. "But I am gonna make sure not one of your people get hurt." Rey said honestly looking at each one of them, she had made a promise to herself and even though she was yet to tell them that the darkness was looming inside her she was going to keep it. "w******p with Vee?" Haley asked making Rey shift her gaze to her watch. "Long story, I should explain while you are all sitted." "Let's get to the house then." Haley said softly but no soon had they walked a minute the earth shook slightly for a few seconds making them stand still. "Since when do we experience earthquakes?" She asked. "Am wondering too." Her sister said but Rey turned back looked up to the sky then she closed her eyes and felt it. "That wasn't an earthquake." She opened them. "It's an incoming space ship." She answered, showing a huge smile all over her face. "Please tell me that it's you." Then she blinked hard staring blankly at the skies. "Who else would it be?"
