Quinn knocked on the wooden door with trembling hands. Her mind was already loaded with the worst-case scenario. Being fired! "Damn sure! He's going to fire me," Quinn hissed to herself. Knock...knock... Quinn knocked on the door once more time. "Move aside, please! Let me open the door!" Someone shouted from her back. Quinn turned around and found the charismatic man standing behind her in a white bathrobe. A masculine scent smelled from his body. His wet-messy hair covered his forehead with water dripping from the strands. "He is so hot," Quinn mumbled inwardly. For a moment, Quinn stared at him as if she was hypnotized by the charm and charisma of the man who was none other than her boss. "Why are you looking at me like that? I said move aside!" snapped Sean. He was so annoyed at the behavior of his new employee. "S-sorry, sir," Quinn stammered. She was unaware that she had been gazing unblinkingly at her boss' attractive face. Sean walked past Quinn and roughly opened the door to his office. "I'm going to change my clothes. Wait here, and don't go anywhere!" With a loud bang, he closed the door. Bamm! *** Five minutes later, the man opened the door. "Come in!" he called out. Quinn nodded obediently and stepped into the massive room. Once inside, her eyes were mesmerized by the luxury displayed before her. It was like the CEO rooms in the dramas and movies she had seen–a swivel chair at the back of the room, with a table that held a personal computer and laptop. Behind the seat, there was an infinity glass window, offering a great view of the cityscape from above. "Why are you standing there like a tree?! What are you thinking about?!" shouted Sean as he glimpsed at Quinn, who was again gawking for no reason. "Y-yeah?" she replied stammeringly. She realized she had admired the magnificence in front of her for too long, not just for the view of the city she saw through the infinity glass window. But also because of this attractive man. His charm was deadly, the magnetism of a mature, charismatic man. "Forgive me, sir!" Quinn groaned. She knelt in front of Sean and put her hands together. The girl put on a pleading guilty look. "Please don't fire me!" she squealed. "I have to support my foster parents. Please forgive me. I didn't know that you-" Sean glanced at the girl. He then walked towards Quinn. "What are you doing?" asked Sean as he furrowed his brow. "Me?" The innocent and unintelligent Quinn asked back. "Yes, you! Is there anyone else in this room besides us?" Ahh...Sean felt getting tired of that new employee. Sean's patience was on edge. "I begged you not to be fired," Quinn explained. Those hazel-colored eyes looked straight into Sean's face. "Stupid girl, who fired you?" "Didn't you call me here because you wanted to fire me?" she asked perplexingly. "No, I'm not an evil boss. I'm not going to fire you now. I called you here to tell you to clean that up!" Sean pointed at the pile of books in a cabinet on the left side of his room. Quinn's eyes followed Sean's pointer. There was a built-in cabinet four meters high. It was filled with stacks of hundreds or maybe even thousands of books. Her eyes widened, "how do I clean it?" "Take down all the books, wipe the cabinet, and put it back neatly!" "Okay, sir." "Oh yeah, get everything done today, too!" added Sean with a satisfied grin. There was nothing else Quinn could do but nod obediently. Although she was already overwhelmed, to imagine how much energy it would take to get the job done. "Oh my god, this is so much. How can I finish everything today?" Quinn muttered to herself. Quinn took down the books on the shelf using the ladder. Occasionally she glanced at the table at the end of the room, peeking at a man who seemed to be busy grimacing seriously at his laptop. "He is damn hot," Quinn mused. "But too bad he's such a swine," she added. *** Sean tried to distract himself by eliminating a few files on the desk, although he wasn't ready to finish all his tasks. Because his mind was still replaying last night's fight with his wife like a movie. He still didn't understand why Ivy resisted having a child. However, two of them agreed to have a child in the third year of marriage. But it had been five years, and she was still refusing. Since the beginning of her career, Ivy has been rarely at home. Although Sean always spends his Sundays at home. But Ivy prefers to spend her weekends hanging out with her friends. Like attending charity events that journalists overly cover. Things that Sean didn't like. Because Sean wants to preserve his privacy. Quinn silently glanced at the man who had been stressed out and ruffling his hair repeatedly. He didn't seem to be focused on his work. A knock sounded outside, "who is there?" screeched Sean. "Clara, sir." "Come in, Clara," he ordered. The woman with thick glasses entered with hurried steps. "What's wrong?" "Sir, there's a Mrs. Osbert outside. She insisted on coming in," Clara said with a tense face. "Ivy?" Clara nodded. "Let her in," Sean ordered with a long sigh. Not long after, a woman walked into Sean's room. The woman walked with a quick tempo. "Honey, why didn't you pick up my call? And where were you last night?" whined Ivy as she hugged her husband tightly. "Let go of your hand Ivy. There are other people in this room." As he pointed his chin at Quinn, the girl was sitting on the ladder wiping the cabinet. Ivy looked over, "who is she?" "She is a new employee. Now let me know what you're doing here. I have a lot of work, so I don't have much time to talk." "Sean, are you still mad at me?" Ivy grabbed her husband's cheek, forcing him to look at her face. Ivy made a sad face full of regret. "Ivy, let go of your hands. Just tell me what brought you to my office?" "Alright," Ivy pouted as Sean gazed fiercely at her. "It's about last night. I've thought it through," "What? Is that true? You mean you're ready to get pregnant?" Ivy was silent for a moment, "no, but I have a good idea." Sean's enthusiasm vanishes instantly. "I'm ready to have a child. But I don't want to get pregnant. We can hire a surrogate mother."
