I got into my boss's expensive Mercedes and closed the passenger door. Mr. Adams also got into his fancy car and buckled his seat belt. My eyes fell on the dashboard where the time lit up. It was very late. My mother must have thought about where I was staying. I also hadn't informed them that I would be coming later. My cell phone had gone out because the flashlight had used up a lot of energy. "What's your address?" His voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Please?" I asked confused. "Where do you live? I need to know your address so I can drive you, Miss Smith." Oh right. Embarrassed, I gave him my address, which he typed into his GPS. Then he started the engine and drove off. Soft music played from the bass of his car. I noticed that the car smelled like him. So manly and good. His scent floated in the car and I wondered at that moment if he was married. I would love to know what his life outside of the company looked like. Was he just as stuffy as at work? "Do you have a driver's license, Miss Smith?" I gave him a sideways glance, noting his attractive side profile. "Erm... yes?" I answered, confused. Why did he want to know? I had a driver's license but no car. "Don't you buckle up when you drive?" What? Only then did I realize that I hadn't buckled my seat belt. "N-no... I mean of course I'll buckle up," I said, biting my bottom lip angrily. Why am I always embarrassing myself? I grabbed the seat belt and hastily buckled myself. "Then I'm relieved," he said and I noticed how the right corner of his mouth pulled up very slightly. Was that a sign of a smile? Was he laughing at me? Was that mockery? I had a hard time judging it as it was so hard to spot. The rest of the ride was quiet and neither of us said anything. Only the soft music could be heard and I looked out the window into the dark night. His car was damn nice and expensive. I usually had no idea when it came to cars, but I could say with certainty that this car was ridiculously expensive. He stopped at a red light and I gave him a quick look. He had his arm resting casually on the steering wheel while his eyes were fixed on the road ahead. His otherwise styled hair lay slightly on his forehead today and he seemed just as exhausted as I was. My gaze wandered from his jaw down to his Adam's apple, which made him look even more attractive and masculine. The first few buttons on his shirt were undone and his tie wasn't as perfect as it was this morning. Suddenly he turned his face towards me and I quickly looked away. He didn't really have to catch me checking him out. Luckily he didn't say anything about it. I don't think he noticed that I was staring at him. It took another 6 minutes until I finally recognized my house in the darkness. I've never been so happy to see my house. Mr. Adams pulled his sleek car to a halt in front of the curb and turned his head in my direction. "Thanks for driving," I mumbled, unbuckling my seat belt. He just nodded to me before he looked ahead again. I got out and closed the door. Have a great weekend too, Mr. Adams. With quick steps I ran towards my house and already saw that the light in the living room was switched on. My mother was probably still awake. When I got to my front door, I turned around and saw Mr. Adam's car still parked at the curb. Why hadn't he left yet? It was relatively dark, so I couldn't make out his face, but his head was definitely turned in my direction. "Madison!" my mom's voice snapped me out of my rigid state. I flinched and looked away from the black Mercedes. "Hello mom" I greeted my mother and hugged her. "Where have you been so long? I was worried," she said, stroking my hair. "Who did you come with?" my mom asked, eyeing the Mercedes curiously. "My... work colleague," I said, hearing Mr. Adams drive away. "Oh, how nice of him to drive you. I don't like it when you take the bus at night" my mother talked to me and we both ran into the house. My cell phone rang for the third time and I skillfully ignored it. Kyle. "Madison, please answer it. Who is calling you all the time?" my mother asked impatiently and stood in the doorway. I grabbed my phone and put it on silent. He hadn't answered the last 4 days and didn't answer my calls either. Was I angry? But something! "Nobody important" I said and continued to put on my makeup. Today was Friday and therefore also the day on which my flight to Paris was due. "Please take care my darling." "Mom, I'm not a kid anymore. I'm 21 years old after all" I replied and put on pink lip gloss. "Call me every day and let me know how you are," my mother continued, walking towards my suitcase. Why did she treat me like a little kid? "Did you hear me Madison?" she asked me. "Yes mom I will" I said, tying my brown locks into a high ponytail while a few strands fell over my face. I wore a pink summer dress that reached my ankles. It was fitted to the waist and from there it dropped down to be airy. It also had thin spaghetti straps and fit my body like a glove. I put modest earrings in my ears and put a necklace around my neck with my name engraved on it. I slipped on my gold Roman sandals and looked down at my pink painted toes. It shouldn't be hard to guess which color was my favorite color. I loved walking around in sandals. They looked super nice and were also very comfortable. I also loved high heels, but after a long day at the office, my feet sucked. After spraying myself with perfume, I ran out into the street with a suitcase. I whipped out my phone to order an Uber, but a blue Volkswagen pulled up right in front of me. "Hey baby" Kyle greeted me and got out with a grin. I crossed my arms across my chest, rolling my eyes, but inside I was on cloud nine. He had actually come to my house since I hadn't taken his calls! Grinning, he walked around the car and hugged me. "Why so mad, beautiful?" he whispered and kissed my lips. My anger evaporated as quickly as it came and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I had forgotten that he had not contacted me in the last 4 days or had not shown up. I had forgotten that he didn't answer my calls and that I should be mad at him now. With my eyes closed, I returned his kiss and smiled into it. I didn't have to stand on tiptoe as he was only an inch taller than me. As he broke away from me, he gave my mother a quick wave. "I drive Madison. You don't have to worry" he said and I bit back a sigh. My mother was so concerned that even Kyle could see it. I remembered my date with Kyle all too well, which was later than I thought it would be. After our date we went to a club to celebrate. It had taken longer than expected and when I got home at 4am my mother wasn't too happy about it. If only I had at least contacted her on my cell phone, she wouldn't have been worried. But I was out of battery. As usual. "Drive carefully and call me when you get there Madison" my mom called and waved at me. I took my suitcase and put it in Kyle's trunk, which he had opened for me. My suitcase turned out to be a bit more difficult than I had intended. Then we both got in and drove to the airport. We laughed and joked around a lot during the drive. I didn't know what it was between me and Kyle. We'd been out before, and kissing was pretty much a part of when we saw each other. Were we something like together? Yes or? I didn't dare to ask him about it. After all, he was the boy. He had to take the next step somehow. It was so sweet that he wanted to drive me to the airport because I was actually going to call a cab. When we got to the airport I got out and took my suitcase out of his car. "Aren't you coming in?" I asked, trying not to show the disappointment in me. "I have something very important to do, baby. I will miss you" he said and kissed my lips again. The kiss didn't last long as it broke off after a short while. "I'll miss you too" I murmured hugging him. "Have fun in Paris," Kyle said as he pulled away from me and got into his car. "Kyle wait-" He sped off before I could say anything. I would miss him very much, but after two weeks we would see each other again anyway. I also looked forward to the weekends in Paris. The city of love. Why couldn't Kyle be Sophia's assistant instead of Liam? Then life would be far too perfect. I wheeled my large suitcase into the airport and looked out for Liam. Sophia, Liam, Mr Adams and I were on the same flight to Paris. That means I would definitely have to meet one of the three. I looked for the check-in line and saw the unbelievably large number of people in front of it. That could take a long time. Incidentally, I looked for Liam and walked towards the check-in center. Looking around, I didn't realize I was walking straight towards anyone. It wasn't until I hit something hard and trotted back a few steps that I looked straight ahead and saw a man standing in front of me. "Oh, I am very sorry! I didn't see you" I said quickly, but trailed off as green eyes looked down at me. Mr Adams? He just raised an eyebrow, looking as arrogant as ever. Why did he always have to cross my path? I had to admit, however, that I was amazed at his clothes. He wasn't wearing a dark blue suit today, but light chino pants and a light blue shirt over them, which he had tucked into his pants. His beard had grown a little making his appearance even more attractive than usual. A Louis Vuitton belt adorned his light trousers and he had a black suitcase with him. His black hair was freshly cut and styled. Even though he wasn't wearing a suit, he still looked damn good in his elegant outfit. You couldn't say he was such a philistine. He looked more like a model from the magazines and magazines. Usually these models were also very arrogant. In any case, Mr. Adams also had this quality. I quickly looked away from him and looked for the way to check-in. He wasn't the only handsome man in this world. There must have been a lot more handsome men than him. It's too bad he's the most attractive man I've ever known. I quickly shook my head to dismiss those thoughts. This man had nothing else to do but throw me off balance. I rolled my suitcase behind me and got in line. A short time later, Mr. Adams queued up behind me. Great. I wanted to at least meet him. Where were Liam and Sophia? Were they already checked in and waiting in the waiting room? I waited a long time before it was finally my turn. When it was my turn, I pulled my passport and plane ticket out of my shoulder bag and showed them both. However, it turned out that I had accidentally booked economy class instead of business class. As this information was relayed to us, I heard Mr. Adams snort behind me in annoyance. I tried to make myself as small as possible while standing. He's gonna kill me! How could I miss something like that? Fortunately, Mr. Adams had not commented on this until now. After that my suitcase should be put up to be weighed. Well, that's going to be more difficult than expected. I'd carried my suitcase into Kyle's car earlier and it had been damn heavy. This tape was significantly higher than Kyle's trunk. "I think you packed more than is allowed" the gentleman at the check-in center laughed at me, noticing my difficulty in lifting the suitcase. I blushed slightly and tried to carry the suitcase up again. I'm sure everyone starts me. Especially my boss. That's why I felt so uncomfortable. Suddenly a man's arm came at me and I gasped as my back made contact with a man's hard chest. I immediately stiffened and took a step forward. As good as it went of course. By that I mean it wasn't possible at all. My head snapped back and I recognized my boss's face. He was suddenly so damn close to me it felt wrong. What was that again with the proximity-distance ratio? He took the handle of my suitcase in a gentlemanly hand and set it down on the belt with ease. After that, he put his hands in his pockets. Luckily he had taken a step backwards. Why did he do that? And how could he have carried the suitcase so lightly? It was damn hard. He hadn't even batted an eyelash. I was still staring at him in surprise and confusion. His green eyes were fixed neutrally on me and his poker face didn't let me make sense of him. His facial expression didn't match his actions at all. After a little while, he looked away from me and straightened his gaze, but I still stared at him. I was far too surprised at his willingness to help. "Lucky again. The weight is okay. You can take your girlfriend's suitcase back down," the gentleman said to Mr. Adams, smiling. I beg your pardon?! He was my boss and not my friend! My mouth dropped open and I whirled on the man in disgust. Mr. Adams took it easy and picked up my pink suitcase. "I hope you're aware we're only staying in Paris for two weeks and not two years," my boss remarked in a mocking tone as he placed my large suitcase on the floor next to me and gave me a quick eyeball before turning away went to the counter to check in. This... I was hoping he would be sitting far enough away from me on the plane that I wouldn't have to see him for the rest of the trip!
