Chapter 7

Laura P.O.V How long was I on the train? Oh yeah, for five days straight. I have already finished reading the book Arcendonia, but I hated the ending. Ever since I finished the book, something seems off. There was some false information that makes it seems almost fictional not all information was truthful. I know this book was based on the revelation of the goddess of calamity coming to destroy the human race, but it happened more than a millennium ago, but perhaps, it happened right after the gods brought the world tree to earth. We got off the train and walked to my father friend's house. My dad's face seems to lit up with joy as the mother has a huge grin on her face. I wonder what was my father's relationship with his friend was like. Damberg is a small peaceful city since this place is far from where the king lives. It is a good hideout for supernaturals. The king rarely checks this place. According to what my father said, this small place is ruled by the old king’s friend. Fortunately, he doesn't like violence and wants supernatural beings and humans to be able to coexist with one another. He is like the lord in this place. Everyone in the city loves and adores him. It was said that the new king in Sanetir wanted to overthrow Damberg. Unfortunately, the lord of Damberg is a half supernatural being and throws a strong barrier all around Damberg to keep the evil beings from entering. I heard he have a supernatural wife who is the strongest fox spirit in the fox clan. They had kids together. I bet they must be legendary because of the strong gene they've inherited. Strangely, there were rumors where the second youngest of the siblings ran away from home. The eldest which is a famous writer who wants to live a peaceful life by staying anonymous. He is the most interesting son among the bunch. I wish I could meet him someday but this seems impossible for he is a royal and I am but just a peasant. There is absolutely no chance we’ll ever meet. He’s well known for his good looks, but I need to meet him to confirm this rumor. We headed into a mansion. As we neared the mansion, I was taken back by how huge it was. Just who is this friend of my father? And what kind of relationship does he have with my father? I was curious, but my parents did not share curiosity. My father knocked on the door, and it automatically opened by itself. I was shocked I bet there’s more than meets the eye. My dad just entered the mansion like he's been here before. Inside the dark mansion, my parents and I had to rely on our werewolf abilities: sense and sight. We, werewolves, possess the ability to see clearly in the dark. I had followed my father behind his back, but suddenly, he sprung in action. My mother hugged me tightly signaling me not to move. I can feel the movements of my father fighting with a strong opponent, but suddenly, my father aura overpowered the entire room. My dad summoned a sword out of thin air and moved swiftly as if he was dancing. In a blink, the sword reached the enemy's neck. The mysterious enemy let out a chuckle, then suddenly, the room was filled with light erasing the darkness. "You win," he roared. I stared at him with awestruck eyes at his handsomely gorgeous features. He was wearing a long v neck shirt and khaki pants. He has blonde hair, a bit of tanned skin, blue eyes, a piercing on the right side of his ears, and muscular body. "I always win," my dad smirked. "Well Karl Klein your moves haven't gotten old," he laughed. "Actually it's Tristian now, please. I want to keep a low profile because no one should know I am the legendary Karl Klein." "Sure thing Karl Klein, the lighting beast." My dad punched the guy in the face which cause him to tumble backward. "Kidding," he laughed. "Just kidding, I promise I won't tell anybody that you are Karl Klein sheesh." Then he stared at my mother. "Your majesty," he bowed his head. "Please," My mother replied. "I am no longer loyalty. I am just Vannessa." "Ah," he then turned towards me. "This must be your daughter for she inherited your looks. You're as beautiful as ever mademoiselle," he kneeled down before my mother and kissed her at the top of her hand. "Merci monsieur ç'est ma fille Laura," my mother said in French. "Mom, you know how to speak French?" "Oui," my mother played. "Besides mom, I don't get everything like how are you a royalty and my father is the legendary lightning beast. I know you told me the story about a handsome man fighting bravely to protect his clan, but stopped when he met a royal Princess," I paused. "Wait, mom, don't tell me that you are the princess from the story and dad is the legendary lightning beast." "You got it," the blonde laughed. "Don't laugh," I snapped. "Who are you anyway?" "Good question," he laughed again. "I am Alex Berserker, one of the five generals that support the nation. I believe your father was one of them."
