Chapter 10

Laura P.O.V Babysitting a princess was not in my plan. So I am more than annoyed right now. I am currently living at my father friends house so it wasn’t good for the princess to stay with us. But she insisted that she needed to hide. I had no other choice but to obey. "Hey princess, are you really the princess or are just an impostor pretending to be a princess. You know I heard that there is the second youngest among this city that she ran away from home." She turned around and smile. "Oh that is just a rumor," she said calmly. I smirk the moment she said that. I knew she wasn't the princess of Sanetir. "How are you so sure since you're not her?" I questioned. I listened to sudden heartbeat jumping a little unsteadily. She is afraid, but I didn’t care I wanted her out of the house ASAP. I didn’t want to be mean but if Alex figures that I had brought the second youngest princess who ran away from home then, of course, as a general of Damberg he will bring her back to her family which she didn't want. "Do you know where we are? Princess," I asked. "Your home," she said like it was obvious. "Wrong, this is Alex Berserker’s home." "Alex Berserker. The general," she said scared. "We need to get out of here." "I don't need to but you do." "What are you talking about? This is general Alex Berserker we are talking about. If he finds me here there is no doubt that he will send me back to the castle and what's more is you! You are just a stranger whom he might probably think that you had broken into his house. He is a merciless person who won't forgive people easily. Especially to a peasant." I smirk. "So you do admit that you are not the daughter of the merciless king, but the king of this town." "Look that is not important right now." Slowly I stood up from the chair and used my werewolf speed to catch her surprisingly pinning her body against the wall and locking with her hands with mine. Cassandra P.O.V BAM! All I felt was the sound of my back crash against the wall. I looked towards Laura. She wasn’t a human. Her hands were locked with mine making it impossible for me to escape. Her eyes showed nothing. Bloodlust fear began to crawl down my spine. I was afraid for the first time in my life. All this time I was protected by castle walls. I never knew anything about what lay outside the world. I have never truly felt pain, sadness, corruption or anything that has to do with negative emotions. I always got everything and anything I wanted and always felt safe. Ever since I stepped out of the castle, everything changed. I was now experiencing the reality of the world. I’m scared and frightened. The world outside is truly a sight of mystery. Her blue eyes caught my attention. I notice how beautiful her crystal blue eyes are. I am afraid that something inside me wanted to seize this moment. She owned the sadness in her face with the mixture of loneliness. She was abandoned and betrayed. I wanted to reach out to her. I wanted to tell her that everything would be fine. That I would stay by her side. But my the other brought me back to my senses. I barely know her. Our first encounter. How could have I said that? "Cassandra," she said my name. Her raspy voice flowed into my ears sending shivers down my spine. "Why did you run away from home? What goals are you trying to accomplish? What are you doing out here?" "I- I j-just want to see the real world, the one outside the palace," I lied. “Don’t lie, Cassandra. You are the princess of this town. Many people are worried about. Your family is searching desperately for you. What's more, they are worried that you will be kidnapped by the King of Sanetir.” "Kidnapped!" My voice went high pitched. "He wouldn't dare if he knows what I am? I am the strongest amongst my family members." "When he knows what you are he will use you as a bait to lure your family in and kill all your family member including you." "My family wouldn't be so stupid. Besides my family is one of the strong supernatural beings." “They are powerful but the King of Sanetir has more power and authority. Your father is just the small king of Damberg who is opposing him. You know what happens to those who oppose him. All of them end up dead. So think princess. If you had gone over to his side, what consequences your family will suffer? Think before you act. That’s important. Go back. Go back home. Your family, they’re worried sick about you.” "I can't. Even if I have to have, I won't be able to go back. I know what I foresaw. The world is going to fall apart soon. the world. It is going to get destroyed by the goddess. I need to get to King of Sanetir," I spilled out. s**t. It looks like there is no going back. I trusted her. My words were gonna be safe with her. "What are you talking? That is suicidal?" "I know it is, but when I told my family of the vision I have had, they said that they will find the solution. So far I haven’t seen any progress. For this reason, I wanted to ask the king to grant us the permission to go into the world tree to search for a way to stop this calamity befalling upon all of us.” “Once the King of Sanetir made a decision he won’t ever change his mind again. That is how he will do things and that is how he really is.” "How would you know if you hadn't tried?" I scolded. "The goddess is coming to destroy the world. I need to find information about her. I need to stop her from coming into the world." She chuckled as her lips quickly drew it up close to my ears feeling her breathe slightly touching onto my earlobe. I close my eyes believing that she might be a vampire wanting to suck my blood. But instead, she whispered into my ears. My eyes opened back wide again. "Don't even try, Princess. I know exactly what is going to happen." Laura P.O.V "Don't even try, Princess. I know exactly what is going to happen," I whispered into her ears. All of the sudden the door flung open. I turned around to see who it was. And to my amazement. It was Alex and my parents. They were looking at me, their eyes lost into the horizon. From deep down I swore I was not out with a girl. "Laura, mind telling us what is going on here?" dad questioned with authority in his voice. "I made a new friend and her name go by Cassandra Blake." I turn to look at her. But this time she was looking at me, I could feel the fire raging within her. I moved away from Cassandra building up space between us so that my parents would not misunderstand the situation. Alex smiled happily. "I guess we found the Princess of Damberg. Didn't we Karl Klein?" "Would you stop calling me Karl Klein already. Like I said I want to keep my profile low?" "I get it, but this is the princess we were talking about she has always been ranting about you and wanting to meet you for a very long time. Since she heard about your legend and how you fight bravely in battle." I turn around to see Cassandra it seemed what Alex said was true. Her eyes were sparkling at the sight of my father. She ran to my father and smiled at him creepily. My father couldn’t do anything but to surrender her eyes"Are you really the legendary Karl Klein?" My dad looked like he was having a tough time but nodded. Cassandra’s eyes sparkled even more. Then she went hopping down to my mother. "Are you Isabella the princess from the story?" "Yes," my mother answered. I laughed at how silly she looked. "What?" she looked at my direction. "Who are you laughing at?" "You," I replied. "You are looking at my parents as if you have seen a god." "You are the legendary Karl Klein's daughter?" "Yes," I said. "Sorry if I hadn't introduced myself earlier. My name is Laura Glimpse, daughter of Tristan Glimpse and Vanessa or should I say the daughter of the legendary famous tale of Karl Klein and his love for Princess Isabella."
