Prologue
A soft sigh escaped Darcy's lips as she looked at her mother wearing a black dress, silver low heels, Maya had on a pair of black silk gloves. "Are you two going to be okay while I'm gonna?" Maya asked fixing her earrings and retouching her lipstick, Issac smiles at their worrying mother. "Of course mother don't worry, father said he's on his way here," Issac said giving his mother a warm smile. "Right your father is visiting...oh I should just cancel today's concert and stay with you two." Maya said hugging her twins, Darcy smiles and looks at her "Don't worry mom...we'll be fine besides us Carsons always stick together no matter what." Darcy said with a smile Issac nudged her side playfully, "Good...now please be safe. I'll see you guys soon." Maya said grabbing her purse, Daniel walks into the loft "Maya we should get going or you're going to be late." Daniel said looking at his watch.
Maya kissed her children on their cheeks before leaving, "Bed before ten." was the last thing Maya said to them before leaving the loft. Isaac turns to his twin "Mom needs to relax a bit, I mean we're about to enter our senior year. How does a spa day sound for the two of you?" Issac asked walking over to the red sofa centered in the middle of the living. "Isaac mom just worries about us because she cares, also she shouldn't have to worry if dad didn't cause-" Isaac cut off Darcy "Let's not talk about dad at all." he stated grabbing his book, Darcy walks to the bedroom leaving her brother to read in peace.
Darcy walks over to vinyl she pulls out a disc of all-time favorite Beethoven, as her room was filled with Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata's first movement she went back to her painting. Dipping her brush in a warm green color and slowly paint what came into her mind, Darcy was talented many of her classmates were envious of her but she didn't blame them for their hatred towards her indeed Darcy comes from a family of pure talent. Her mother Maya Carson an Opera singer who knows how to play violin and piano, her father Arthur Hardin a famous artist whose artwork was sold in galleries, her twin brother Isaac got their mother's talent in piano, violin and has a passion for poetry. while she got most of her talent from both parents painting, violin, piano, and of course her mother's lovely opera voice. Darcy's voice is soft and kind when she speaks with a small English accent you could barely hear her accent but it's there just not as noticeable as her twin brother's accent.
Although her mother and father are both famous artists, she was still labeled as the lowlife and pathetic student in their school. Isaac was labeled as the cold-hearted English boy a label that wasn't harsh like hers. Darcy looks at her painting, she had drawn a black raven flying over a green hill, two kids playing with their mother as a father was walking away from. The painting said it all, their father had left their mother for another woman in Seoul. Darcy felt this strange hatred towards both her father and the woman, yet her mother says it's wrong to feel hatred towards the man who was part of her life.
Isaac was still sat on the red sofa reading a novel by Jane Austen Pride, and Prejudice. Darcy's music could be heard from outside of her room, it is peaceful to the twins. Issac also has an indescribable hatred towards his father who took him from his mother at a young age, taking him to the UK. His father's actions caused heartache to his mother and caused his sister to believe her twin brother didn't exist, all the negative thoughts caused Issac to lose his focus in the pages of the book. He slammed it shut placing the book on the coffee table, the doorbell made him get on both feet.
Isaac walks over to the door opening it to see his father, Darcy's music was no longer playing. She had walked out of her room her eyes watched their father's every move as he walks into the living room. "Where's your mother?" Arthur asked looking at his twins, Isaac close the front door "She's performing at an award show." Isaac said walking over to Darcy, "Well isn't that lovely your mother is performing while you two are home alone." Arthur said his tone was obviously filled with annoyance. Isaac gave his father a stern look "We're doing fine thanks for asking." Isaac said crossing his arms over his chest, "Don't worry about mom...what is it that made you fly all away to LA?" he asked Arthur looks around the loft and turns to the twins. "I came here because I'm taking you both to Seoul with me." Arthur said Darcy and Isaac gave each other a look, "You're insane...you just can't come here and take us away from mother." Isaac said Arthur gives him a stern look "Oh don't worry your mother is coming along," Arthur said with a sigh of disappointment "Your mother wouldn't let me take you unless she comes along." Arthur continues Darcy lets out a sigh of relief "If mom is coming along then...we'll go." Isaac said as he ran his hand through his dark brown hair.
Maya arrived at the loft before eleven, she walks in to see Isaac and Darcy sitting on the sofa with Arthur. "You're still here?' Maya asked as she removed her coat and black silk gloves along with her heels. Arthur looks at Maya with a look of seriousness "Moving day is tomorrow Maya, I thought you told the twins about Seoul." Arthur said getting up from the sofa and walks over to the front door Arthur and Maya exchange looks of ingratitude "I know don't worry about them I can handle it." Maya said her voice filled with calmness yet inside she wants to scream at him. "My lovely twins start packing before your father throws a fit," Maya said turning to take one last look at Arthur as he leaves the loft. Darcy looks at her mother with soft puppy eyes "Yes mother." Isaac said as he and Darcy get up and walked into their rooms leaving their mother as she loathes herself in pithiness.
Darcy walks into her room and pulls out the brown cardboard boxes from her closet and began to pack her things, the twins always hated the idea of moving in with their father but wherever their mother goes they'll follow behind her. Isaac knew that after what his father did he had to be the man of the family and take care of his mother and Darcy. He cherished them deeply, Isaac made a promise to his mother no matter what happens he'll always do whatever it takes to keep Darcy safe. Little did he know Maya was preparing him for the worst.
