CHAPTER ONE

"Welcome to Cheong's Paradise Palace...Arthur, it's great to see you, my dear friend." Eugene Cheong the owner of Paradise Palace, gave the Carsons a warm smile. "I see that you brought your children." Eugene said looking at Arthur "Eugene these are my twins Isaac and Darcy...and this is their mother Maya Carson." Arthur said Eugene smiles "Maya Carson I've heard so much about you and your lovely twins." Eugene said Maya gives him a faint smile as the twins stood by her side. "I want you all to meet my wife Rina Cheong, my son Kaleb Cheon and my daughter Sunny Cheong," Eugene said as the twins see a woman in her thirties with two teens that seemed to be the same age as them. "Hello, it's such an honor to have a talented Opera singer staying at the palace. I hope you all feel welcome." Rina said with a kind smile, Maya smiles and shakes Rina's hand. "Thank you so much for having us," Maya said Arthur looks at the twins "Don't be rude...say something," Arthur said Issac gave him a stern glare before looking at the owners of Paradise Palace. "I'm Isaac Carson the oldest...this is my sister Darcy," Issac said forcing a smile on his lips, Rina glanced at Arthur before returning Isaac and Darcy a warm smile. "It's lovely to meet." Rina said Eugene cleared his throat "Now then, shall we give you a quick tour of the palace." Eugene said Darcy glances over at the oldest son of Cheongs, Kaleb Cheong is known as the cold smart guy at Cheong Arts and Music Academy. He was quite the opposite of his sister Sunny Cheong is cheerful and a social butterfly, just like Isaac and Darcy they were both very close siblings.

Sunny turns to Darcy with a big grin "Hello I'm Sunny...it's so nice to see another girl in the palace." Sunny said as she hugs Darcy, Darcy was surprised by Sunny's action of kindness. Darcy smiles "It's nice to meet you..." Darcy said Isaac smiles as he watches his sister interact with someone her age. Kaleb gives the three teens a faint smile "You four seem to be getting along, why don't you two show the twins around while we parents have a talk." Eugene said with a smile Maya looks at her twins with a bright smile "That sounds great let's go." Sunny said pulling Darcy by her hand towards the elevators, Kaleb and Isaac follow behind the two girls. Maya watches as her twins were already creating a friendship with the Cheongs.

"Our dad is the owner of Paradise Palace, our mother owns of Cheong's Fashion," Sunny said Darcy drinks every little detail of the palace, Isaac hasn't said a single word since the little tour began. Kaleb turns to look at Darcy then at Isaac "Are two from the UK?" Kaleb asked Isaac looks at him "Born but Darcy was raised in LA by our mom." Isaac said Kaleb nods his head in acknowledgment, "I of course was forced to grow up in the UK because of our father." Issac continued Kaleb let out a small sigh "I could tell by the accent...Darcy's accent isn't that strong like yours is it?" Kaleb asked his gaze never leaving Darcy and Sunny. Issac sigh "Sadly it isn't." Isaac said they follow their sisters to a common room for teens.

"This is our common room, where we study and just hang out with friends." Sunny said she looks at Darcy "Now that you're here...you're welcome to come in here when you wish." Sunny said Kaleb hears the loud voices of their friends, Isaac turns to see two more teenage boys and girls. "Kaleb...Sunny who are these two..." Eunseo Ming daughter of Joy and Henry Ming gaze at the twins in slight disgust. Isaac seemed to notice that they were not likable to Eunseo, he walks over to Darcy who was busy admiring the paints and portraits. "Eunseo, Hannie, Seojun, Nathan this Isaac and Darcy Carson they've just moved into the fifth floor," Sunny said with a smile Sunny's friends smile except for Eunseo.

"Daebak! Wait your mother is Maya Carson...the opera singer?" Hannie Park daughter of Sarah and Brahms Park gave the twins a smile, her brother Nathan was also filled with curiosity. "Yeah, she is." Issac said with a faint smile, Nathan was filled with excitement "Daebak! Wow! That's awesome." Nathan said the twins look at each other and back at the group for friends "I'm a huge fan of her...she has the voice of an angel. I'm Seojun Cheong Kaleb's and Sunny's cousin." Seojun Cheong son of Logan Cheong brother of Eugene Cheong. Kaleb looks at Eunseo who was very uninterested in the twins' presence.

"Well it was lovely meeting you all but Darcy and I have to get back to our parents." Isaac said grabbing Darcy's hand they walk out of the common room, "Did we scare them off because of what we said?" Nathan asked Sunny shook her head and looks at Eunseo "You should be more polite when meeting new people." Sunny said as she walks out of the common room Hannie looks at Eunseo before following Sunny. Kaleb let out a small sigh of disappointment, he stopped by Eunseo and looks at her "Aren't you coming along?" Kaleb asked Eunseo looks at him with eyes glistening with envy and jealousy.

The twins walked out of the elevator to see their parents with the Cheong's, they walk over to them. A woman with raven black short hair dressed in a red dress, red matching heels, her lips were a cherry red. Her eyes could pierce through you like knives, she didn't look too friendly she could be easily be mistaken as a bitchy woman who craves power. 

Joy Lee Ming walks out of the elevator with her husband Henry Ming following behind her.

"Rina, how are you dear?" Joy asked with a faint smile Rina had to force a smile, "Henry, Joy I want you to meet Arthur's children and the mother of his children." Eugene said with a smile "This Maya Carson and her twins Darcy Carson and Isaac Carson." Rina said a serious look was formed on Joy's face as a familiar name ringed in her ears.  Joy turns to see Maya Carson, her old high school nemesis "Hello we've heard many good things about you, I'm Henry Ming and this is my wife Joy Ming." Henry said with a warm smile the twins gave them forced smiles. "Maya Carson...we finally meet again." Joy said with a stern look Maya forced a smile as memories of her high school life flashed before her eyes.

Joy Ming always had an unbearable hatred towards Maya not only was the beauty of the brunette the cause but her magnificent voice, Joy was envious of Maya's passion for Opera. Envious of the talent that Maya possesses unlike her, Joy always had her father and mother bribe many business people in order for her success. Maya Carson the Opera singer, the magnificent author, the dazzling beauty of LA was perfect she didn't even need to bribe for her success.

Darcy was able to sense that the relationship her mother has with Joy was not a good one, the Cheong's continued showing the Carson's around. Isaac grew worried that perhaps this place was not meant for them, perhaps they're not worthy enough to live in an elegant penthouse, perhaps this is all part of his father's plan to take custody of him and his sister. Isaac was uneasy knowing that his father's mind can be wickedly dishonorable. He turned to look at his sister her eyes were glued onto the painting portrait of a young girl with black hair and hazel eyes, she looked exactly like Rina Cheong perhaps it's her. Issac knew that his sister's love for art was bigger than his love for piano, a small sigh escaped his lips causing Darcy to gaze at him.

"What's the matter?" She asked "This place...it feels uneasy...unsafe." Issac whispered Darcy understood that her brother hated moving country to country hell it bothers her as well. "Don't worry you'll get used to moving...besides we're with mom so there's no need to feel uneasy," Darcy said with a smile Isaac looks at her before they both head off to their parents.

"This is where you'll be staying," Arthur said entering the code on the keypad, they entered seeing that every single part of the penthouse was filled with elegance. "We're staying here? In this fancy apartment?" Darcy asked her eyes wondering every inch of the place, Arthur looks at Maya then at Darcy "Yes...now if you don't mind I have some business to do. I'll see you all tomorrow morning for breakfast." Arthur said leaving a notepad and elevator key cards for them on the coffee table. 

While the Carson's settled in there was one particular person that had an issue with the idea of Maya and her twins living in the penthouse. Joy paced back and forth in the living room, her husband Henry was pouring himself a glass of red wine he seemed to notice that his wife was angry and frustrated. "What's bothering you this time?" Henry asked taking a big gulp of the wine, he knew that his wife married him out of jealousy and envious, he knew his wife didn't have true feelings for him yet they have a daughter named Eunseo.

"Maya Carson that's what's bothering me..." Joy said her expression was a stone-cold glare as she grips onto her necklace tightly causing a small wound appeared on her hand. Henry rolled his eyes at his arrogant wife, "Aren't you going to ask why?" Joy asked looking at her husband with anger Henry shook his head "Why would I bother...besides I'm heading off to bed, you do whatever you wanna do." He said walking upstairs to his bedroom, Henry and Joy don't share a bedroom together it makes Joy feel uncomfortable is the way she puts it.

Joy gritted her teeth together as she began to think of a plan to get rid of Maya and her twins, Joy Ming was known the woman with viciously wicked thoughts, a twisted mind, no soul. If Joy is able to get rid of Maya then she can be the only one higher or above everyone else. Joy began to think of many ways to get rid of Maya and her twins, even if it meant to be wicked toward the Carson's. Joy has always been a selfish wicked woman, a woman who does not like to share her spotlight with someone who has more talent than she holds, that's just how her parents taught. They taught her the ways of how the world of wealth should be, by bribing people with millions of dollars, blackmailing people with their filthy secrets, and worst of all murder yet making it look like an accident.

Joy Ming was no good woman, not even a nice one, she always puts an act on for the public but behind closed doors is a woman filled with wicked thoughts and a malevolent persona, her eyes hold such evil, an evil that could pierce knives through your chest, you could say she was sociopathic but she prefers the term overly intelligent.
