Chapter 6I don’t know how we managed to fall asleep after that, but I do remember waking up in his arms. At first, I thought I had picked a guy up at a bar, but as soon as I opened my eyes, I remembered. We had to move. There was light coming in through a small break in the basement and the light was filtering through. It had been hours, and I didn’t hear the sound of shots anymore. I shook my companion awake. “We have to go,” I whispered and we slipped back into our clothes and got moving once again. We had to leave and the only way that would work was the secret passage. We weren’t going to expose ourselves again. I grabbed the quartz and strengthened the light spell that I had placed on it. It was a precious item, something I was going to need if we were going to make it out of this.
