Later on that day, Rai walks in the same alley everyday, it got quite dark by the time the lessons were over.

“I knew that Sophia’s spell was not able to erase the memory of everyone with her spell, did you took care of the rest?

He spoke like he is talking to someone.

"That was your work right? Gaia?" Rai glance behind him.

A shadow started to rise from the earth and took shape of a human being. Following behind Rai as he walk, it was Gaia, yes, the person who kept laughing his a** off during the arena thing.

"Man, its quite hard to hide my presence from your ears. Can’t you just pretend that you didn’t notice me?" Gaia plead as he roll his eyes in disappointment.

Gaia caught up to Rai’s pace as his body fully emerge from the earth. Rai gave him a blank expression as he glance at Gaia beside his shoulder.

"Are you an i***t? I can hear your money clinking from your pocket you dumb a*s" Rai mock Gaia as he point his finger to one of Gaia’s pocket.

"What?! I thought spent my whole money! If I had any left I’d know it right away" he exclaim in surprised.

He was feeling his pockets when he suddenly heard a clink. Rai just looked at him with disappointment.

Gaia kneel down like the whole world is on his back. He slam his fists on the ground.

"It cant be, there is actually some gold coins that can escape my grasp! I am still too green to master the arts of money spending."

Tears run down his face as he had his head on the floor. Rai felt the embarrassment if someone were to see his friend act the way he does right now.

"Well whatever, that must have cost a lot, shutting up all those people." Rai grab Gaia by the shoulder to make him stand up.

"You’re worried about that? Who do you think I am?" Gaia said while holding his chin like an almighty man and refuses to stand up.

“Yes yes yes, Oh Almighty Gaia” Rai said in a boring tone, he gave up and decided drag him along as he walk.

“Hmph, it is about time you finally see my greatness” Gaia declare with his nose held high.

(This guy switch gears really fast.) Rai had an annoyed and embarrassed look in his face as his eyebrows twitch.

By the time Gaia stop being a baby and walk properly, they have already reach the end of the alley.

Both of them walk towards the inn they were staying.

Gaia kept embarrassing himself in so many ways as they walk. Rai could feel the stares of the people around them. So he distanced himself a little from Gaia.

"Rai, why are you keeping your distance?" Gaia asked unaware of his embarrassing actions.

Rai cover his face with his hands, trying very hard to ignore Gaia.

"N-nothing, I just saw something interesting" Rai whisper in a way that only Gaia could hear.

Gaia looked at him with suspicious eyes and stare at him. Rai avoided his gaze in an awkward way.

"Hmm, by the way I-"Gaia stop midway of his thoughts when he stop in his tracks after seeing a group of girls not too far away from them. He walk ahead of Rai to the direction of the group of girls.

"Just go on ahead, I'll head to the inn later. Hi girls!" He told Rai as he wave his hand to the girls. Gaia had the looks so it’s not surprising that he can hook a girl right away.

Yes, that’s right. Whenever he see some cute girls he always have the urge to hit on them.

"Don’t worry I will leave you either way" Rai answer in a fine tone.

He arrive at the inn after a few minutes of parting ways with Gaia. The innkeeper greet Rai with a smiling face as soon as he entered the door, Rai slightly bow in response and went straight to their room.

"Hah! Today is a really troublesome day."He let out a sigh as he sat on his bed.

He sensed that someone is walking towards his room and stop in front of the door. Then the attendant of the inn knocked on his room.

"Tak!"

"Tak!"

"Tak!"

"Sir Raze, your food is ready. Please head down now" the attendant said in a meek voice after she knocked.

"Yes, coming" he answered.

Rai had his dinner, after that he waited for Gaia to come home. He waited for an hour, he got bored and went to sleep.

[The next day]

"Don’t! Don-n’t, that’s my ticklish spot. Oh yea" he said as he roll over in his bed.

Rai woke up by Gaia's sleep talk. It seems like Gaia came a little late last night after having fun.

"What is this dumb a*s saying so early in the morning" Rai said while scratching his head.

Gaia continued to talk in his sleep.

"Yes, yes, yes! That’s the sp-" Gaia said in a sexy voice while covering his lower body part, please don’t misunderstand. He is covering his butt.

Rai look at his friend like he is some sort of insect. He reach out to the nearest thing that he can grab on to.

"Tuks!"

"Ouch~!"

Gaia groaned in a sexy tone after Rai whack him with a hard pillow. Gaia got up in surprise.

"You really know how to ruin my day before it even started, and whats with that groan? That was creepy you creep" Rai ask as he form a fist with a very annoyed face.

"Wha-what? Its morning already?" Gaia said as he look outside the window.

Gaia did not mind Rai as if nothing happened.

"Want another one?" Rai smiles maliciously with nerves bulging in his forehead.

"No thank you, come on dude. Its too early to be pissed you know?" Gaia formed an [X] with his arms while shaking his head.

Rai stopped and just looked at him blankly while Gaia gleefully smile at him.

"Dude, can’t you be normal for even just a day?" Rai ask as he massage his temple.

"This is who I am Rai, deal with it" he reminded Rai.

Gaia smile at him but rub Rai the wrong way.

"Whatever, thanks to you I woke up a little too early" Rai shook his head, leaving Gaia alone then he fold his blanket.

Everything is okay but Gaia with his playful nature still emerge.

"You’re welcome" Gaia wore a smile thinking of how would Rai react.

Nerves instantly form in Rai’s forehead, eyes fixed on Gaia, due to the curse placed on Rai, his negative emotion gets amplified.

"That wasn’t a compliment!" he shouted.

"Tud!"

Rai slammed the door, he went down to the shower room, bringing his change of clothes with him.

[In the Kingdom of White Pearl]

"Any news Taras?" a young lady with a white hair ask.

"Nothing as of this moment my lady, please forgive me" the attendant beside her answered as she lower her head.

"Its not your fault, he has always been the cautious type. How about I look for him myself?" the young lady with the white hair told her attendant.

"I am afraid that is not an option my lady, it is dangerous outside the kingdom even if you are an A Rank adventurer"

Taras seem to oppose the young lady’s idea as she change the young lady's clothes.

"I’m bored anyway, that ought to kill some time" the young lady insisted.

The instant Taras, the attendant heard the young lady, her voice grew louder.

"Princess Roxy! You must not! Your father, the king will be furious if you go." she persisted.

Roxy scratched her nose as Taras greatly oppose her idea.

Not knowing what to do, a her face brighten as another idea come into her mind.

"If I can have father's approval, am I good to go?" Roxy asked.

Taras’ face grew pale after hearing the Roxy’s question.

"Only if he give you permission" Taras answered while praying in her head that the king will oppose the young lady’s idea as well.

Taras said with a stern look in her face. Taras is strict with Roxy's safety as if she were her daughter. She was taking care of Roxy since the young lady was little, so their relationship is like a mother and a daughter.

"Why not?" the king said in a gallant voice that echoed to the whole room.

The answer of the king to his daughter's request left the surrounding personnel’s and general’s mouths wide open. This shocked Taras even more that she nearly fainted but she was caught by the others.

"Your highness, but sending Princess Roxy to look for Smoke is a rather dangerous idea" her perseverance kept her from losing consciousness.

"I know where you are coming from Taras, but she is a grown woman now. She needs to explore and have her own adventure. Besides I also need to talk to that guy, he is so evasive that I needed to capture him just to talk to him. What a mysterious young lad." the king said as he stroke his growing beard.

Taras was so concerned about the King's decision that it shown on her face.

“Thank you father”Roxy bowed to her father then walk towards Taras and hug her.

"Do not worry Taras, I will be careful so that you will not worry too much. Please take care of my father for me. He may be a carefree father but our kingdom needs his heart warming rule."

Taras just looked down while tears ran down her face.

"Father, I will depart tomorrow" Roxy decided.

She already had her stuff ready in case something like these happen.

"Please tell that kid that I want to see him as well, but due to the circumstance I am in, I cannot go to where he is. Tell him that I will be waiting for his answer." the king ask his daughter.

"What was it that you asked him father?" Roxy got curious about the thing that her father asked Smoke.

A smile crept across the king’s face as his daughter wonder about.

"I am afraid that you cannot hear of that for the time being, but in the near future, you will" the king apologize.

Roxy bowed and left with Taras. They headed directly at Roxy's room where Taras looked like life was sucked out of her. Roxy who was concerned about Taras, held her hand. Taras look at Roxy, she saw her smiling.

"You have been taking care of me ever since I can remember, even so after my mother died. You are like a mother to me Taras, I promise that I will return here safe" she promise, as she look at Taras with radiant eyes.

"I’m so sorry for worrying you child. I am just afraid that something bad might happen to you." Taras said as her eyes went watery.

Taras cried til the evening and Roxy felt sorry and kept her company. The king was about to enter his daughter’s room worried that Taras will do anything to keep her in the kingdom but halted when he heard their conversation.

“I guess I worried for nothing.” the king said as he left with a smile on his face.

[The next day]

"Headmaster, please. Rai Raze has only been sleeping the whole day, almost everyday since he got here. And it kept getting on my nerves" Guru complained in a loud tone to the point that the nerves in his throat are really visible.

Guru who is the instructor in charge of Rai's class. The principal just watched him ran his mouth til he poured everything out.

"It really is disrespectful for a student to sleep in class, don’t worry Mr. Guru I will deal with him." the headmaster agreed and swore to deal with Rai.

The instructor nodded and bowed towards the headmaster.

"Hah, Thank you headmaster" Guru sigh as the headmaster gave him assurance.

"Of course" the headmaster answer in a calm tone.

"Then I will be on my way" he said as he wipe the sweat on his face.

The principal forced a smile as the instructor left. The instant Guru left the room, the headmaster’s aura change from serenity to a raging storm. Nerves in his forehead are bulging in great size as the corner of his lip and eyebrow keep twitching.

"That brat is really giving me a hard time huh?" he force a smile but the irritation in his face could not be hidden.

In a flash Gaia instantly appeared lying down in the bench.

"If I were Rai, I would do the same thing. Some things are pointless after you cross beyond that line. But I will do what I can." Gaia said while staring at the ceiling.

The headmaster stared at him with a disgusted face.

"Well, we are sorry for not even worthy of crossing that line of whatever it is, but it would not hurt to listen. I don’t really asking help from a person like you, especially you." the headmaster said in a humble and mocking tone.

Gaia’s yellow eyes moved towards the headmaster’s direction, the headmaster is looking at him as well then a smile slowly crept in Gaia’s face

"That’s pretty harsh, I can still feel pain you know" his piercing gaze gave the headmaster goosebumps.

Gaia said while smiling, yes smiling as always. The headmaster still finds it creepy even after the time they spend together in the room.

"Jokes aside, I received news about the Princess of the White Pearl kingdom coming here to look for him personally." the headmaster change the subject.

Gaia sat normally after hearing the news.

"Oh, that. I think I know." he declare as he stroke his chin.

"The princess set out this morning, she had a history with you guys right? She might be able to help change Rai" the headmaster’s eyes are glimmering in hope.

"She does have a chance, but I don’t know about Rai. That guy can he very hard to control sometimes." Gaia said while scratching the back of his head not knowing if the result would be positive.

The two talk more about the problem regarding Rai.

"Alright class, today I am going to teach you about minimizing your concentration consumption..." Guru said in a cheerful voice.

The whole class were focused on the instructor, well except for one person. Yeah, you know him. It’s our boy Rai who is snoozing off in the middle of class. Guru instantly saw the ever so sleepy Rai.

"This little s***, he really dares to sleep in my class" his eyebrows twitch as he curse at Rai.

Guru snap his pen accidentally in two. Determined to take the matter in his own hands he called out to Rai.

"Mr. Raze" Guru called as he wore a fake smile.

Rai yawned then faced the instructor with his sleepy eyes. The whole class knows that Guru is really furious and failed to mask his anger with a smile.

"Yes Sir?" Rai ask while rubbing his eyes.

"You seem quite lively this morning, can you please show us how to control your concentration to the minimum degree?" Guru ask while trying not to raise his voice.

Rai looked behind him and turn to Guru who is irritated by his action.

"Me?" Rai pointed at himself after looking behind his back.

"Yes!- ahmmmm yes, you Mr. Raze"Guru accidentally raised his voice.

The other students felt the anger in his voice. Then they started to talk to themselves.

"Silence please. Mr. Raze here will demonstrate minimalization" he ordered as he grit his teeth not to lunge at the guy.

[Minimalization is the the most common usage of concentration, it is very effective in large scale spells but the downside is that it take too long for the spell to activate and it greatly consumes a lot of concentration. With that being said, the users usually cast their spells before the fight.]

"No helping it I guess" Rai rub his eyes again.

He walked towards the board. After a few steps her look at Guru.

"Sir, do I need to show how strong a minimum concentration is?" Rai ask as he turn his head to Guru.

"How thoughtful, please do Mr. Raze. Please do" Guru smiled as he answered.

Rai sighed as he focused his concentration in both of his arms. Everyone focused their eyes on a rare element type user.

"I feel like a newbie again, its been a long time since I got to do this. It is efficient, but I will not recommend this. But if these instructors-" he thought while channeling his concentration.

Rai smirked as he realized that something was wrong about the teachings of the instructor.

"Why don’t we spice things up a bit" Rai wore a villainous smile.

“Ksssh!”

“Crackle”

A loud crackling sound traveled in the entire room, purple lightning shown bright as they appear dancing around his hands. The other students are astonished after seeing his lightning up close, others stood up to see it even a little closer. Among those students were the group that Rai challenge, Charles and Verette are standing as well.

"Such strong lightning concentration"Other students thought as they saw the lightning surrounding his hands.

"Odd, a kid his age shouldn’t have that much output, who the hell is this kid" Guru wondered as he saw the amount of concentration Rai showed.

He too stared at the lightning in Rai’s hands.

Then the lightning started to slowly lose its brilliant light, until its finally gone. Only orbs as small as grapes remained.

Rai smiled as he knew what Guru thought of what he just did.

"Impossible! Lightning type is one of the hardest types to control, it requires a massive amount of mastery to control those raging lightning earlier" Guru jump off his chair after seeing Rai control his lightning with his very eyes.

Sweat was starting to fall from Guru's forehead as he thought of the damage that those orbs are capable of.

The students were amazed as well, Rai controlling an element that is naturally hard to manipulate is a major achievement for them.

"So pretty" Verette manage to spill out some words after seeing the purple orbs in Rai’s hands.

Charles was surprised when Verette speak out her thoughts. The others were captivated as well, be it boy or a girl.

"That is a great manipulation Mr. R-Raze. Now will you please dissolve those orbs before it can destroy the academy." Guru asked nervously, hoping that Rai knew how to dissolve the orbs.

He knows how strong those orbs are, an instructor like him can tell even at a glance about how dangerous the things that Rai held in his hands. But to his demise, Rai wants to toy with him.

Rai smirk as he look at Guru with his villainous smile.

"Mr. Guru, I don’t know how to dissolve these things" Rai tried to act ignorant.

"What?! You know how to manipulate that much concentration but you don’t know how to dissolve it?!"Guru shouted in shock.

The students were surprised to hear Guru's voice rose to maximum level that made his voice scatter to the surrounding rooms. Heads of students as well as instructors popped out of their doors to see which the voice came from.

Guru realized that he made a scene when other instructors went into his room and asked what had happen.

"Mr. Guru, I can’t control it anymore!" Rai screamed at Guru.

Rai acted as he tried to swing his hands back and forth, which drove Guru to run towards Rai trying to stop Rai from releasing his lightning orbs.

"Stay still, you brat!" Guru demanded as he tries to stop the orbs from slipping off of Rai’s hands.

Rai continued to swing his hands back and forth while Guru kept catching his hands. Then suddenly an orb slip Rai's hand and is falling like a snow to the floor.

"Get everyone out!!!"Shouted Guru as loud as he can like he was ready to break some nerves in his throat.

The students followed his order, then rushed towards the door.

"Hey! Don’t block the door!"

"Hurry up"

"Faster!!!"

A commotion broke out, Guru had his back on the door trying to block the incoming destruction with some spells.

Sweat was dripping from the faces of the instructors and students.

The other instructors assisted the students and forbid the students from entering the room.

The orb landed on the floor, the instructors prepared spells in hopes to block the lightning concentrated orb.

"Poof!"

Their eyes widened as the sound travel the entire room engulfed in silence.

"What?!!"

"Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!??"
