They had come back into normal space at the coordinates Gears had programmed but, according to sensors, there were no planets, no stars, no moons within two hundred billion kilometers of their current position.
Nick’s eyes drifted across the Kid’s latest sensor report on the screen in front of the copilot’s seat. He could still smell the peanut butter on Gears’ breath emanating from the pilot’s seat next to him. Gears loved his peanut butter on white bread sandwiches.
