Without thinking, she picked up the phone and called the police. She told them everything they needed to know without crying. After she hanged up on them, she tried to call Jane but with no answer. She's probably just getting off work or working overtime as a bouncer for different bars across town. Jane doesn't look like she can handle herself, but she can. She's 5'2, red hair with grass green eyes and a smile that takes your breath away. Her body makes Lacy go crazy. Jane is also a black belt in Taekwondo.
Lacy and Jane have been together for about four years. They met at a book store Lacy is working at. Jane walked in with a couple of her friends. Her smile made Lacy's heart skip a beat, with her white teeth and red lipstick. Lacy couldn't keep her eyes off of her. She gathered the courage to walk up to Jane and ask if she needed help with finding something. Her heart was beating so fast she was scared that Jane might hear it. Jane is a little taller than Lacy. Jane nodded yes. ""Yes. I am looking for a mystery novel."" She answered. Her voice sounded like a symphony to her. ""R-right over there. In section 12 is the mystery section."" Lacy stuttered. Her face turned a little pink. "Thank you," Jane said. As soon as Jane walked away, her perfume hit Lacy's nose. ""I like perfume. What is it?"" Lacy asked. ""I made it myself. I call it my potion."" Jane said. Her friends called out to her. Lacy admired Jane when she walked away, her long red hair went down to her middle back. A long white sleeve shirt and blue jeans that hugged her body perfectly. A pair of cowboy boots to put the outfit together. They didn't find anything they were looking for. They started to leave. Right as they walked by Lacy. She yelled, "Bye, have a nice day." They all waved bye at her.
The next day, Lacy dressed up nicer for work. She ironed her black work shirt with a dark pair of jeans that snuggled her body just right. Lacy put on a nice smelling perfume hoping Jane might show up. She put on lip gloss to try to make her lips pop. Her smile is contagious, her smiles brighten up the room and makes everyone around her smile. She ties her hair back with two strips of hair down to frame her face. She put on her comfy work shoes and off she went. Jane, she put on a black and red skirt, a long black shirt with knee-high black boots. She braided her red hair. Once she put on her natural lip balm, she kissed the mirror goodbye. Jane walked into the book store and saw Lacy. They smiled at each other, Lacy blushed a little. That made Jane's heart race a little bit. ""Mystery section?"" Lacy asked jokingly. Jane was shocked at the joke, she thought she was too shy to joke at all. ""You know me so well."" Jane replied sarcastically. They both laugh. Lacy had to put some books away. They both walk away with a smile on their faces. They kept shooting glances at each other.
After a few minutes, someone pushed a button to let Lacy know that someone was ready to be cashed out. Lacy walked over to see who needed help. Jane was waiting up front for help. Lacy's heart started to pound. She took in a deep breath and walked up to her. "Hey, you found what you were looking for?" She asked. ""Yes, thank you, Lacy."" Jane answered while looking at her name tag. That made Lacy smile and giggle. "You know its kinda unfair that you know my name and I don't know yours." Lacy said with an uncertain voice. Jane looked down and chuckled. ""Its Jane."" she answered, showing her white teeth. What a perfect name for a wonderful woman. Lacy thought. "What time are you off?" Jane asked. "4pm" she replied. "What are you doing tonight?" Jane asked, tilting her head and smiling. Happiness swells up inside Lacy. She built up enough courage to say, "Whatever you are doing tonight." She couldn't stop the blush that was forming.
Jane admired Lacy's brown eyes when the light hit them just right. It looked like a dark caramel. "I'm having a movie night with a couple of friends if you want to join us," Jane informed her. A smile fell on Lacy's face. She clears her throat. "Yeah, I just need your number and address." She replies. They swap phones, so they put their information on each other's phones. They exchanged smiles. Lacy's boss yelled at her to get back to work. Jane walked away waving goodbye. "Wait what time?" Lacy asked before she walked out the door. "6:30pm" Jane replied, then off she went.
She rushed home after she clocked out. She lived a couple of blocks away from the book store, a small studio apartment. Her phone went off as soon as she walked into the door. A big smile fell on her face when she saw the name Jane pop up on the screen. She texted her address and made sure she was still coming. She put the address in to see how far away Jane lives. She is about 30 minutes away. If I leave here at 5:50, I can make it if I stop at a red light. She looked around her apartment thinking about what to wear. Her eyes glanced over her worn-out gray love seat and a box TV. She looked at a black and white wall clock to the right of the TV. It says 4:10, perfect timing. She quickly jumped in the shower to get the work off of her. It was 4:30 when she stepped out of the shower. She put on a pale pink shirt, white skirt, white flats with a light pink bow on top. She turned left to look at a full-length mirror. She let her hair air dry for her natural waves show. She put on a little bit of makeup. She glanced down at her phone at 5:48. Time just flies when you are getting ready. She thought when she grabbed her bag and checked to make sure she didn't forget anything. She popped a mint in her mouth and off she went.
Lacy follows the GPS on her phone, in her beat-up old car she got for cheap a month ago. She was happy that it got her from A to B. She was happy that she barely hit any lights going to her house. She arrives around 6:20. Lacy's heart was beating fast. Her hands were sweaty. Her knees were feeling weak. She hasn't really dated or met someone that she really found attractive in a while. She stares at Janes house, a white house with wooden steps. It's in the middle of nowhere. Lacy got out of the car and headed towards the house. At first, she thought it might be a trick. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Maybe she gave me the wrong address for kicks. She thought to herself. Once she sees Jane opening the door, her worries leave her mind. A sigh left her mouth. Jane tilted her head like a little puppy. "I thought it might have been a trick," Lacy said. Jane scrunched her eyebrows. ""Why would I do that? I think you're cute and want to get to know you."" Jane stated, smiling at her. Lacy's face turned pink, including her ears.
Lacy stood there staring at Jane to let her inside. Jane just stared back at her but wasn't actually looking at her. A small breeze passed by. ""Can I come in? It is a little chilly out here,"" She asked. Jane's eyes widened. She sidestepped and motioned her in. Lacy walked in, and her mouth dropped to the ground. The house was beautiful from the inside. The walls were off-white with wooden flooring. To the left was a massive kitchen with a marble bar. Lights are hanging down from the ceiling. To the right was the living room with a dark brown lazy boy couch with a matching love seat. A giant fireplace in front of the couch with a flat screen TV above it. Jane motioned Lacy to follow her. "You have an amazing house," Lacy said. They walked down the hall and had pictures of Jane and her family. Lacy stops when she sees a picture. "You have dogs?" She asks. She stares at a photo of Jane and two big huskies. She had never seen huskies that big before. They look mostly like wolves. The picture was taken in the living room on the couch. One dog on each side of her. "Yeah, the one on the right is Roxy and the one on the left is Sam," Jane informed her.
Roxy is a gray dog with a hint of white. Sam is a full white dog. ""They are so cute. Where are they now?"" Lacy asked, looking around. Jane smiled and chuckled. "They are sleeping in their room," Jane answered. Lacy's eyes widened. "Their own room." Lacy repeated shockingly. Jane started walking and turned left towards a door. She whistled, then opened a door that had the letters Roxy and Sam on it with two paw prints. The dogs burst through the door, almost knocking Jane over. They rushed over to Lacy, sniffing her all over. She stretches her hand out, so they can sniff it. Wow, they are a lot bigger in person. She thought. Roxy knocked her on her butt hard. A little pain shot through her but went away quickly. They both attack her with licks. Lacy started to laugh. "They like you," Jane stated while laughing. She walks over, getting Roxy and Sam to stop and help her up.
Lacy looked around and saw more photos of different dogs with Jane, but one photo had a guy with a big dog. "You had a lot of dogs." Lacy added. "Those are dogs I rescued and gave homes to." Jane explained. Lacy smiled. She's so sweet for doing that. Lacy notices Jane and her are the only ones there. "Where is everyone?"" She asks. "They won't be here until 7. I wanted you to be more comfortable before they get here. I want to warn you, though they can be loud and obnoxious,"" Jane informed her. They both laughed at the comment. Jane looked at her phone and said, "They should be arriving soon." They heard a knock at the door, a smirk fell on Jane's face. The two dogs went straight to the door, but they weren't barking. Jane opened the door, motioned to Lacy to come over. "This is Jax,"Jane said. A 6'2 guy was standing in front of the doorway with nice brown eyes and blonde hair.
Lacy stretched out her hand to shake his. "Hey, I'm Lacy." She introduced herself. His grip was strong, and she felt a ring on his left hand. He noticed she was looking at his wedding ring. "Her name is Monica, she is still in the car." He said with a deep voice. He was wearing a black shirt with blue jeans. She notices he has sleeve tattoos on both arms. She complimented his tattoos while he was looking behind, waiting for his wife. He walked in, followed by his wife. She wore a dark red shirt with black pants. "I'm Monica." She said. "Lacy." She replied. Monica is 5'4, with black hair with pretty caramel eyes. Lacy stared at her and tilted her head to the left. "Is that a tattoo on the side of your head?" Lacy asked shockingly. "Yeah, do you like it?" She said, turning her head to the right, showing a tattoo of a moon on her left temple. "Yeah, but it looks like it will hurt." Lacy commented with a small smile. "It was worth it." she said with a shrug.
Jane came out of nowhere with two drinks in her hand. She handed one to Lacy. Another knock on the door, everyone went into the kitchen area to get something to eat besides Jane. "Kyle, Bobby, hey." Jane said happily. Lacy looked over to see who had come in. Two guys walked in. One was shorter than the other. The shorter one had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a dark blue undershirt with shorts. Lacy can see his muscular body and has the same tattoo as Manica on his wrist. The taller guy has dirty blonde hair and gray eyes. He wasn't as muscular as the other guy. He is wearing a white shirt with black pants. He had one hell of a beard, but he kept it nice and neat. He had the same tattoo on his neck. "Who is this cupcake?" The blonde guy asked. "I am Lacy." She said, giggling. The way the blonde guy looks at her is different from everyone else had. "I am Kyle, and I am a huger." He replied, stretching his arms out. She hesitated for a moment before hugging him. She felt her cheeks heating up and also a tingly sensation like electricity with every place he touched. She didn't want it to end.
Everyone started to laugh, which made Lacy blush even more. After Kyle let go, the other guy introduced himself. "I am Bobby and also a huger." When Lacy hugged him his beard tickled her a little bit but with no tingling feeling like Kyle. She giggled, Jane cleared her throat. Bobby quickly let go and stepped back. Lacy questions it a little bit. Are they together? Why would she say she liked me if they were though? Jane clapped her hands together, snapping Lacy out of her thoughts. "Now that everyone met Lacy, do y'all want to watch a movie?" Jane asked. Jane poured Kyle and Bobby a glass of tea. "What are we watching?" Lacy asked. "Slit." Everyone said in sync. "Never seen it." She replied. Everyone gasped in surprise.
They all moved to the living room. Kyle, Lacy, Jane and Bobby sat down on the couch while Jax and Monica cuddled on the love seat. Lacy sat in between Kyle and Jan while Bobby sat on the other side of Jane. Lacy's heart was beating fast. She was worried they might hear it. Bobby and Jane kept whispering during the movie and Monica kept on shushing them. Kyle slowly put his arm around Lacy, and she snuggled up to him. Lacy doesn't know what it was, but she is drawn to both Kyle and Jane. Jane looked over and moved Kyle's arm and placed her arm around Lacy. She pulled Lacy towards her and Lacy snuggled up against her. Bobby kept glancing over with a nasty look on his face. When Lacy looked at him, he quickly looked away. Maybe Jane and he have a thing going on? Or had a thing. Lacy thought. She moved away from her, sat straight up. She didn't lean back to Kyle or Jane, even if they put their arms around her. She didn't move for the rest of the movie.
When the movie was over, Jax and Monica headed out a couple of minutes later. Bobby and Kyle headed out for a smoke. Jane turned to look at Lacy with a serious look on her face. Before she could say anything, Lacy asked, "Is there anything going on between you and Bobby?" Jane tilted her head. "What do you mean?" She asked. "When we were cuddling during the movie he kept looking at us with a disgusting look. When he hugged me, you kinda got mad." Lacy explained. He is like a brother to me, he's just protective of me. He doesn't want me to get hurt. He does this to all the people I like. When I got a little jealous because I wanted you to be mine. Please don't worry." Jane said, placing her hand on top of Lacy's. She stared at Jane, looking to see if she was lying or not. "Okay, I believe you," Lacy said. They both had smiles on their faces. Jane leaned in for a kiss. Sirens filled Lacy's ears being her back to reality. She sees lights flashing in the house from the windows.
