Four years ago. .. “She is not a flower!” Old Lady Salsa, the physician announced cutting short the excitement that was seen radiating the crowd, the crowd turned to her. “What!” Alpha Festus exclaimed, shock written over his face, unable to believe what he just heard. Of course that can't be possible, … his precious daughter wouldn't do something like that … he thought as he walked towards Old Lady Salsa, quickly dropping his glass of wine on the table. “Yes,” The old woman affirms with a nod “Your daughter has been defiled.” Answering the Alpha's unasked question. Slowly with tears running down her face, fear consuming her and a trembling body, Dianna D'ell, Alpha Festus first daughter, the only child he had with his late fated mate, stood behind the physician. “Sweetheart,” Her father called slowly looking pass the physician “Lady Salsa just made an announcement,Dee, and I want you to tell me it's not true.” He said with a string of hope in his eyes. Dianna trembled all the more, tears keep cascading down her cheeks, she wishes this wasn't true, she wished she had not gotten drunk that night, she wished- “Dianna D'ell!” Her father screamed making her staggered backwards in horror, the old lady sighed and walked away leaving both father and daughter “Answer me!” “Father, I … I …” She stammered with fear. “The Alpha's daughter, defiled?” “Such a shame.” “She wouldn't get mated to him nor any other male.” “A defiled she wolf can't get mated to the Alpha King.” Comments began making the rounds. “You!” Came her stepmother's yell, angrily she stormed towards them “Old lady Salsa just made the announcement in the inner room,” She said looking at Dianna with that usual look, disgust and hatred “Our pack is in trouble Festus, your disappointment of a daughter has landed us in trouble!” She exclaimed. And for the first time ever, her father didn't dispute her stepmother calling her a disappointment, Dianna cried all the more, she was well aware that her stepmother hated her and called her names but on any occasion where her father was present he rebuke her stepmother. “You are such a disappointment, Dianna.” Alpha Festus said sternly. Dianna's heart broke into million pieces seeing the disappointed, sorrow and hurt mixed together on her father's face, he took a long look at her, every second of it, Dianna saw his love fading away, and then with a deep sigh he walked away. Dianna collapsed to the ground crying “I am sorry.” Her stepmother huffed “You’re sorry? you defiled yourself and you dare say you’re sorry?!” She shouted, she lowered herself held Dianna's shoulders “You are a disappointment and I am glad your father can see that.” “Well, well you have finally badded goodbye to the throne you were minutes away from.” She mocked. Dianna clenched her fists, she was fated to the Alpha King, the strongest man in the clan, the Alpha of Alphas, wanted by all she wolves, the one she had been crushing on since she was eighteen now her joy of being by his side just slipped away from her. “Everyone!” One of the guards yelled gaining people's attention including Dianna “The mating ceremony still continue, please come to the inner room.” “What?!” Dianna muttered in shock and disbelief, but that wasn't the rule, the rule was that the Alpha King is to be mated to a flower, a she wolf who hasn't been defiled. Wait? Could it be that he loves her enough to break rules for her? Though the Alpha King mostly wore a blank expression but ever since they found out they were mated, he always set up a private meetings with her, complimented her dress and beauty. Dianna hurried to her feet with hope and made her way quickly to the inner room but she stood rooted at the door when she saw her younger sister, Helena, standing before the Alpha King at the end of the aisle with a big smile and a banquet of flower in her hand, the flowers she, Dianna, was supposed to be holding. “Since the Alpha King fated mate has been defiled,” One of the Alphas started “The best thing to do is choose a mate for him and it has been decided that Helena D'ell would take her elder sister's place.” The crowd murmured. “But first, my lord,” He called, silencing the crowd, the Alpha King averted his gaze to the Alpha “You need to reject your mate.” Dianna's ears tingled. No! Please! Silence descended, all eyes settled on the Alpha King who just stood there staring into space, Dianna sees the Beta lean in and spoke in his master's ears. “I-” He started. “No, please!” Dianna pleaded as she hurried to the front, fell on her knees beside the Alpha King, Dianna could swear that she sees his face soften a bit before returning to its blankness. “I don't know how it happened, I didn't plan for it to happen, I am sorry.” Somehow she wished he did listen to her, she wished no of this has ever happened, she wished she had not been overwhelmed by her birthday celebration and had gotten drunk. Alpha King Connell lowered himself, he took her face in his hands, the tenderness in his eyes could not be mistaken yet… “I,” He stated as he straightened himself “Connell Sivarus, the Alpha King of the Western clan, reject Dianna D'ell as my goddess chosen mate.” He declared. “No, please!” She screamed as the tearing of the mate bond kicked in, pain surged through her. “I, Helena D'ell, now take Connell Sivarus, as my chosen mate, now and always.” Helena said, Dianna could hear the smile in her stepsister's words. “I accept.” Was the simple confirmation the Alpha King gave. “You may kiss your mate.” The Alpha officiating announced, Dianna shut her eyes preventing her from seeing them kiss. “Congratulations!” The crowd yelled happily. Dianna slowly stood up and walked away from the inner room, getting to her room she immediately collapsed to the ground crying helplessly. She suspected this might have happened that night, she had celebrated her birthday and had gotten drunk, she had awoken up to feel so tired and very sore between her legs, she had shrugged it off blaming it on the fun she had the night before. … “I never thought you could bring such disappointment to me and the pack.” Her father said bitterly as he walked in to the room, he stared at her, clear disappointment and anger was written over his face.. Hurrying to her father's feet, Dianna pleaded “Father, I am sorry, please forgive me.” Now she had lost her place beside the man she loved but she can't bear to lose her father's love too. “Forgive you!” He scoffed angrily “I almost lost my position, respect and honour, all because you couldn't keep your panties on!” Dianna flinched. Helena chuckled causing Alpha Festus to throw a death stare at her, she bowed and muttered “Sorry.” “Father-” “No,” He snapped, “for this you have done, you are no longer my daughter and I don't want to see you again!” He announced, Dianna immediately bowed at his feet, the tempo of her cries increased. “Father! No! please!” She begged as her tears wet his feet but he only pushed her off and stormed out angrily. Both her stepmother and stepsister burst out laughing. “Finally, father's eyes is opened,” Helena bent to Dianna's level “Finally the oh perfect Dianna is imperfect now, what a shame!” Plastered on Helena's face was a triumph smile the smile that told Dianna that her cunning step sister had executed a plan .. wait? Realization hit Dianna in the guts “It was … it was .. it was you.” Dianna stammered, Helena stood up and a smirk was plastered on both mother and daughter's face. Now that she remembers, Helena had served her all the drinks she took that night and had went ahead encouraging her to drink more. It was Helena and her stepmother! “You!” Dianna yelled, anger washing over her as she sprang to her feet, held Helena ready to beat her up. “Help! Someone help!” Helena and her mother yelled hysterically. Helena began making choking noises, sounding as if she was losing her breath, Alpha Festus and some guards came rushing in. Releasing Helena, Dianna tries to explain “Father, I -” Two slaps landed on her cheeks, her father just slapped her. “Stupid child!” He exclaimed “How dare you attack your sister, the Alpha King's mate?!” He yells frightened, checking Helena over, while the latter smirked over the Alpha's shoulders. “Father, she and stepmother did this, they ruin my life,” Dianna tries to explain as she points her trembling hands at Helena and her mother who were looking so innocent. “Shut up! Haven't you done enough ruins!” Her father yells at her. “Father, believe me, they did this.” Dianna said again trying to convince her father who only shook his head. “I’ve heard enough,” He turned to the guards “Take her away.” He ordered turning his back again her. “No! Father!”
