Chapter 3 - A Flirtatious Meet

Sarah left not long after the men were gone.
I was relieved as she was really trying to convince me to go.
I just didn't want the risk, I have such a huge responsibility and that is Jacob. He and Nonni are my number one priority right now and I feel I am needed.
Sara managed to get our mutual friends Hannah and Laura to go with her so I'm happy she is not on her own. I don't see Hannah and Laura that much they are very wild compared to me and are always at the next party on the island.
I look at the time and see that it is time to start packing up the stall. I was rather pleased with how much I managed to sell today and only have a few bits left over. There were less trips putting everything back in the car and that is always a win.
I took my apron off and folded it into my boot and got in the car.
I grabbed my water bottle and drank the last bit before starting the car and making my way to the school to pick up Jacob.
I walked up to the class room and stood with the parents outside waiting for the doors to open and the kids to come out.
"Hey Chloe" I looked around to see Tina another mother from a child in Jacobs class.
"Hey there, hope you have had a lovely day?" I asked.
"Yer was very busy in the office? what about you?" she asked, being polite.
"Yer good thank you?" I replied.
"I was wondering if you will be able to donate cakes for the summer fate in 2 months for the PTA" she said with a pleading grin.
"Oh...yes! sure thing?" I replied.
"Amazing! thank you!" she replied as the class room door opened.
The children started coming out and running to their parents and I just waited until the teacher flagged me to come into the classroom.
"Everything Ok?" I asked, worriedly.
"Nothing to worry about too much," the teacher smiled, sheepishly.
I walked in to see a very upset Jacob.
I walked down and knelt on floor, he ran up and hugged me crying so much more.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong." I asked, and looked at the teachers for answers.
"He misplaced his water bottle and we can't seem to find it" the teacher replied softly.
"Oh sweetheart, that is okay we can get you another..the very same one" I said holding him close.
Jacob has shown autistic ways for a while now and the school have been fantastic as getting in flagged.
Jacob don't like anything changed, he would have wanted to grab his things that he usually grabs for his bag and if that process has a change it will get him really emotional.
"Jacob look at me, it's okay I promise...we can get you another bottle then exact same okay" I said and seen that he is now calming down.
The teacher sat next to me and smiled.
"Jacob tell your mummy what we were learning today." Mrs Dixon said with an excited voice.
He looked up with a smile as he wiped his eyes.
"We are learning about the planets" He said smiling.
"Oh you love space don't you" I smiled at him as I could see him starting to relax.
"Although I don't know who is teaching who?" His teacher giggled.
I nodded and smiled "He has so many planet books at home that he loves and reads"
"He is a little genius, his reading, memory and maths blows us away for his age, you can see that you have sat with him teaching and bonding with him. It's lovely to see" Mrs Dixon said with a huge smile.
I smiled "Thank you, I appreciate you saying that"
Jacob seemed to have settled as he took me to the display wall and he pointed to his picture of the moon.
"Wow! good job buddy! that looks amazing" I said picking him and looking at it again.
I could see he was settled now and happy and walked out carrying him saying goodbye to Mrs Dixon.
I got him in the car and we drove to see our Nonni.
I opened her door and Jacob ran in.
"Nonni!!" he shouted.
"Oh hello you handsome boy" she said as she opened her arms out for a hug.
I smiled and put the kettle on as I placed a box of baked goods on the table for her.
"Thank you, I will enjoy some of them later when I watch my programmes" she said smiling.
"Your very welcome. how was your day" I asked her as I made her and myself a cup of tea.
"Betty came over and we'll she told me that her granddaughter is expecting so I have started to crochet a blanket" she said happily.
"Oh wow is that Lindsey...that's exciting news for her" I said now taking a seat next to her.
"How did you do on the stall?" Nonni asked.
"Great actually..sold alot" I said, chuffed with myself.
"Good, I'm very proud of you" She said smiling.
I told her what happened at the school and got her to watch Jacob as I went to the local shop to grab the same bottle and something to do for dinner.
I was walking around when I bumped into someone and fell to the floor.
I looked up and felt flustered, it was the man with grey shorts on that came to my stall.
He helped me up and I looked at him embarrassed.
"I am ....s..so sorry" I said quickly, trying not to stare at his abs.
"you okay?" he asked.
"Ye I'm okay.. thank you" I said, still feeling embarrassed.
"Your welcome, take care" He said bluntly and I went to move out his way bit realise he was going to step aside and nearly bumped into him again.
"Oh goodness...how embarrassing I'm so sorry" I said flustered more, knowing my face will be very red from blushing.
"hmm" he said looking into my eyes.
We stood quietly for a few seconds that felt like minutes.
"Bye then" I said and started to walk down the isle.
I found the water bottle for Jacob and was happy to see the exact one and grabbed two. I also walked around and grabbed some bits for dinner and then joined the queue at the till.
I looked around to see if I could see him but he was not around. I have never been this interested in a guy. I have had very fit guys ask me out but I just don't want anything. I am happy in my bubble at home baking.
I walked out the shop to see that the grey shorts man was leaning against my car.
I walk up "Hi?" I said as I get to my car.
"Hey, I forgot to ask you why you don't want to come to the yacht with us tomorrow night?" he said, his eyes staring straight into mine.
"Erm..how did you know this was my car?" I asked now putting stuff in the boot.
"Your cute cake logo?" he said pointing at my door where it said Enchanted Bakes.
"Oh... ha" I said, now closing my boot.
"So... how comes?" He asked again.
"Well, I don't know you and well you could be a killer and kill us chucking out body's overboard" I said quickly, regretting the last part.
he chuckled and bit his lip.
"I'm Lucas, and your are?" he said with his hand out to mine.
"I am Chloe" I said, with a sweet smile.
"Well now we know eachother" he smiled.
"oh.. well in that case I will sure to be there" I said now getting into the car.
I put my seatbelt on and put the window down.
"That was sarcasm wasn't it?" he grinned.
"100 percent!" I giggled.
"Well you would be an awful friend letting her come on her own?" he said now leaning his hands on the roof of my car leaning in.
I could smell his aftershave it was so nice and I want to close my eyes and take it all in.
"She won't be alone, so don't worry...it's just not something I do..." I said with a smile.
"Okay, we'll take care" He walked off and I found my self watching him too much from my mirror that I nearly crashed into a lady.
"I'm so sorry!" I pleaded to her as I made my way out of the car park.
