Heather is a werewolf betrayed by the man she was to wed. She was being chased in the forest, when she was rescued by Dominique, the alpha of the East River Pack.

Dominique was shocked to discover that the woman he had rescued was not only his mate but may quite possibly be a rogue. And how can an Alpha take a rogue as his mate? If only she could reveal her identity to him....except, she was in a coma and when she finally wakes, she is unable to remember anything about herself. All she knew was her first name.

Heather does not understand why the Alpha does not feel the bond between them. Time and time again he pushes her away and refuses to acknowledge the attraction between them.

He appears determined to resist her and pretends not to be drawn to her.. but for how much longer can he continue to restrain himself? ....if only he could stop himself from kissing her...if only he didn't want her so much..or feel the need to protect her so much. Together, the two embark on a journey of love, betrayal, secrets and a fight against a society that is hell bent on ensuring werewolves become extinct.

Prologue
My heart thundered in my chest as I dashed across the dense forest. It was dark and My normally great werewolf vision appeared to be failing me because I couldn’t really make out where I was going.Pain etched up my legs at every stride I took but my will to survive surpassed every bit of pain that I felt. I struggled to keep Sasha my Wolf under control. She was in pain and wanted to defend us. But I couldn’t allow her to continue this journey. Never mind the fact that her frustration from my shielding her was beginning to wear me out. I just couldn’t let the humans see that part of me. I had to protect my family. If I didn’t survive this then they would go after them. My lungs screamed for me to stop, every breath I took sounded strained and I could barely make out where I was going. Sweat burned my eyes and my feet were bleeding. Still I pushed further. Those who seek my life were gaining ground on me. The light from their flash lights signified doom for me as they trailed me. They were fast approaching and I was getting weaker. But I was in full survival mode and I willed my muscles to go further. No, I couldn’t stop now. I had to survive. I wouldn’t give my attackers the benefit of seeing me suffer. “There she is!” I heard one of them shout as he fired a gun at me. Nothing prepared me for the excruciating pain of that bullet. I fell to the ground and gasped holding on to my torso. I heard my Wolf cry out in fear . Still I held on and backed myself against a tree. My attackers finally caught up to me and circled around me. I watched as my fiance... Lucian the man I was to marry in two days get down on one knee with a wicked smile plastered across his face and grab my chin. “You know... you really would have been a beautiful bride. “ he spat out. “ it’s a pity I’m gonna have to kill you.” Tears threatened to roll down my face but I kept it at bay. I wouldn’t give this monster the satisfaction of seeing me cry. This was what it had finally come down to. A man that I trusted , even loved would be the end of me. I felt my shoulders slump down in resignation and I whispered. “Go ahead.. do your worst.” “No!” Sasha my wolf screamed. “We can’t go down without a fight!” But I ignored her. I looked up at Lucien .Not breaking eye contact. Was it pity that I saw in his eyes? Regret? Maybe it was just the pain I felt. I had lost too much blood and was starting to feel light headed. My vision blurred and I could sense that I was losing consciousness. Suddenly I heard a twig snap and in the corner of my vision I thought I saw a huge black wolf baring it’s teeth in anger. But I didn’t care anymore... I was dying and I didn’t want to remember. I didn’t want to remember the pain. I wanted to forget it all. My eyes drifted close and I heard the sound of growling and men screaming coupled with an even stronger stench of blood. Finally a shot rang through the air and I drifted into the unknown.
