As the thunder rolled, the wind had a sharp bite to it. "Show me the enemy", Gina spoke in a cold voice. She saw the enemy in a matter of minutes. There were about fifty rogues with arrows dipped in what she believed was wolvesbane. She looked to see if her uncle was among the enemies but didn't see him or feel him anywhere. "Wolves must not try to get close to these enemies ", she spoke calmly "Shay stay back , I will leave this to the elements, earth swallow them whole, fire burn them alive, air and water freeze them throw them around, do your worst to them show them the error in their ways attacking your king and queen" The other pack members looked at her in shock as she uttered the words "No survivors, wipe them all out" her eyes were as black as the darkest depths of the earth. Zonta shivered and looked at Amani curiously. She smiled gently at her friend. "I know it is harsh but they are using wolvesbane-tipped arrows that they are shooting at us fellow werewolves. As a Queen, these are the judgement calls I must make. None of the enemies are children. Never mind the fact that they shot an arrow at the king of all kings like he was some stag to be hunted." Zonta sighed "apologies you are right " "I will let their cursed souls rest in peace if they want it I will allow them to be reborn as true wolves. If they are vengeful, their souls will be purified. If their souls are too black, then sadly, they will be destroyed." Zonta was relieved to know Amani wasn't dark. Her goodness was still there , she would trust in her friend, her queen. "Let us walk towards where the enemies are. I have work to do now". Gina released her hold on her body. She smiled reassuringly at her loyal subjects. They could hear the screams of the wolves in the distance. Some of them shuddered at the thought of the horror those wolves were going through. When they got closer, they could smell the stench of the cursed blood. She held her hand out to Rue and the elves joined in as she chanted and prayed for the dead as the Salamanders set the dead on fire . As she prayed, she apologized for the terror of their deaths and offered them their choices for their next lives as her wolf children . As colored orbs rose from the flames, Shay cawed loudly. Flying over them, she led the souls to their new beginning. There was a lone female ghost that hadn't yet departed. She stood there and waited for Amani to approach. " Please allow me to stay with you so I can see my sister one last time before I move on. Her father stole her away from my mother and I, but I would recognize her anywhere" as the girl spoke she moved towards Zonta, who was frozen in place clutching Amani's hand. "You are my sister Zonta Lianna Menan. You have been missed dearly little sister, mother would be overjoyed to know you have lived well all this time. Zonta felt her eyes getting wet. " How do you know all that?" she asked, tears falling. The ghost smiled. "Our tribe all have a special tattoo we were given when we were born. Yours is there on your hand. It's a small green dot. Our mother gave us all the same one so we could always recognize our own blood ". Amani felt Zonta's hand tremble in hers. They wanted to ask more but the spirit was glowing a bright white and Amani knew she was ready to go. "I'm sorry, I love you but I must go. Just know they live still". The ghost vanished and Zonta collapsed in a crying heap on the ground. Mingen went to her side and held her close to his chest, patting her hair, while Amani went and got some tissues for her friend. She instructed everyone to get ready to continue on their way to Rue's home. Mingen picked Zonta up off the ground and got comfortable in a carriage with her, instructing her every now and then to blow her nose. No one spoke as they all had so many thoughts in their minds. Zonta's sister's soul was already getting ready to be reborn, so Amani could not find it to ask it anymore questions. "Have any of you heard of such a tribe that tattoos their infants? " Amani thought that was cruel to do, but since it was only a dot she assumed it must not have hurt that much . The Greyson elders were all shaking their heads. "I don't think I have heard of that practice , it might be a secret thing that outsiders aren't privy to." Koki said with the others nodding in agreement. "I think we have seen people like that at our hospitals before, we have medical tattoos to tell children apart when there are multiples births" Motono said trying to remember something "if I remember properly the place the tribe would be from Raven pack" I have noticed many of their children have tattoos " Keokuk looked back at his son in the distance teaching his sister dodging techniques "I think I will send the three of them on their coming of age journey early , Mingen , Zonta and Dakota we will send them with Envoys from the new King and Queen to invite them to a meeting of Allies as they are technically on our lands" Motono nodded his head "you are right we do have to have the sub packs pledge their loyalty to Amani " he watched her as she looked at her friend with a worried expression on her face "don't worry she's with her mate , that's the best possible place for her at the moment" he comforted her with his words she smiled and nodded "alright then , I need to take a nap I am feeling pretty tired after using all that energy earlier" she looked sheepishly at her elders Motono just shook his head at her "we are traveling over night so sleep in the carriage" she nodded waved at them then went to go take a nap . She had just gotten comfortable when Zonta had come in and snuggled her in her wolf form , she propped her head on top of her friends, nuzzling her comfortingly before she fell asleep.
I am not sure if I will post tomorrow, though I will try my best . April 1st I find out if treatment worked depending on those results, I may once again take a day or two off just to deal with my emotions. Thank you for reading this far.
