"Guys, we've been walking for three days! I'm hungry and thirsty." Joseph whined. "It's so hot and we have no clue where we are! We lost our bags in the process of running! That wolf or whatever it was tried to kill is. It even injured Evie. Speaking of Evie, how are you holding up?"
"I will be doinng better if you would stop complainging for five minutes." I snapped. He blushed, but still looked at me in concern. "I am pretty sure my leg is infected, but it is too covered in dirt for me to know. We seriously need to find a way back home. We've gotten nowhere. I officially hate exploring."
"Just saying, you and I both had a bad feeling about the f*****g cavern. None of this makes sense. A cavern that leads to another forest? It's like a bloody dream. If I have to sleep in a tree for one more night just to make sure we are safe from killing creatures, then I will just kill myself. I just want the comfort of my bed."
"You're not alone in that one brother." Joseph agreed. "Let's rest here for a bit. Evie is limping pretty bad and Jenna looks like she is about to collapse." As in a silent agreement, we all paused in our walking. I leaned against a tree and slid to the ground.
"There has to be people around here some place!" Jonah exclaimed in disbelief. I pulled my pant leg up to check out the wound as everyone else tried to figure out our next step. Blood oozed out of the wound with some puss. I cringed. It is deeper and worse than what I thought. "We need to find someone who will take care of that. It's bad and we don't need you getting sick because of that." We all fell into silence.
we spent thhe next thirty minutes before we heard rustling come from a patch of bushes. "It better not being a killing hell wolf." I growled. The rustling stopped.
"Perhaps it was just a animal." Jenna suggested, looking unsure. "At this point, I don't even know. It could be anything. I feel like we entered the twilight zone. "
"I think we all feel that way." Neil grumbled.
"Dude, this is so your fault. If you hadn't convinced us to go to that stupid cavern, we wouldn't be in this situation!" Adrian snapped. Neil glared at him. "We should have listened to Evie when she said she didn't know!"
"You begged her to go too!" Neil snarled. Looking up at them, they were standing face to face. Erick looked panicked, while everyone else seemed to let it just continue. "I am not the only one who wanted to go to the damn cavern. This whole thing isn't my fault! You played a part in it as much as me."
"I'm agreeing with Adrian on this. This was your idea, Neil." Jenna said firmly. Growling, I stood up.
"ENOUGH!" I shouted. Silence fell on anyone. "It's all of your guy's fault! You all begged to go and explore the caern. Fighting will not do anything. The important hing is, we are all safe for the time being. THat creature couldn' pass the entrance, so no more fighting. Am I clear?" They nodded, not saying anymore on the subject.
"What's that?" Jonah asked. We all looked to where he was pionting. What looked like a flower, also looked like fire. "Is that a...burning flower?"
"This day just keeps getting weirder and weider." Adrian said. We nodded in agreement. "Let's follow it!"
"Adrian, I swear to whatever god is out there, I will f*****g end you." I declared, annoyed by the fact that he is willing to walk into danger without thnking. Adrian paled, quickly hiding behind Erick. Erick looked at me annoyed. I glared at him and he returned it.
"There's another one and the first one has a face now. There are others, but they look like people!" Jenna hid behind Neil. I looked back to the fire people.
"Welcoming to the Blooming Forest." The, what I asume to be the leader, said.
"Bloomin forest?" Joseph muttered.
"The real name has been lost for many years, so we now call it the blooming forest. There are others like us, but different. What bring you here?"
"We haven't the slightest clue. We were exploring one minutes and the next we were being chased by something from hell itself." Neil explained. I guess that is one way to explain it.
"Yes, and our leader is hurt." eRick sai, giving me a look.
"Since when have I been the leader? Did you guys make some sort of code or rule that I become the leader in an unknown situation?" I asked confused and in disbelief. The little fire people laughed.
"We are the Fire Blooms. The Snow Blooms are to the south of us. The Water Blooms are to the west and the Flower Blooms are to the east. We are all loyal to the queen. Who are you loyal too?" The leader asked.
"The queen? Where in the hell are we?" Erick asked.
"Clearly not in our world." I muttered. "I'm Evie Moon. We aren't from around here and we don't even know where we are. We have been walking for three days and haven't had anything to eat or drink. If you can show us where we can gain energy back, we will be thankful."
"We will take you to Queen Miranda. She will be able to help you. It is a two hour walk from here. Will you be okay to walk that far with your injury?" The leader asked. I nodded. "My name is King Haco of the Fire Blooms. Welcome to the Kingdom of the Winter Elves."
"Winter Elves?" I asked.
"Yes. There is no snow here because of the fire we are made from. There are enchantments that keep this part of the forest warm all the time. The cold will kill us." He explained.
"Damn." Neil muttered.
"Follow me and I will take you to the border. The queen always has guards there and they will escort you to the castle." King Haco said.
We followed the group of Fire Blooms. The forest became lush and warmer. A river flowed through this part. "The water is fresh. Drink before we continue to wash. Wash your wound in the river. It is too dirty and the infection will only get worse." Nodding, we all went to the river. ERick helped me wash the wound as the others began to drink the much needed water.
"This ia the best water I have ever had. Very refreshing." Jenna said happily. The Fire Blooms chuckled as they watched us.
After another ten minutes, we began walking again. We followed the river all the way to the border. There stood two guards, who gave a friednly greeting to the Fire Blooms. "They are lost and are in need of help. One is injured and requires healing." KIng Haco turned to us with a smile. "I hope all goes well for you, new friends. Come back and visit in the future."
The soldiers led us away. We walked onto a hill. We could see many things from here. The one that stood out the most was a grey castle in the distance. Jenna gasped in disbelief while the boys jaws dropped. "Why do I have a feeling we are going to be dragged into something we'll regret?"
