Proposal

1072 Words
The was hot and muggy. Not a very good combination.  Today is the day that Erick plans to propose and I am in the middle of creating the picnic lunch. I have kicked everyone out of the kitchen so I can do what I want and need without being interrupted. It had displeased Jenna, because she likes being me around due us being the only girls.     "Don't yell at me. I have something I want to ask you." Erick said quickly, as he walked in with his hands up. Raising a brow, I put my hands on his waist. "You look like my mom when she is getting ready to lecture me. Anyways, do I hang onto the ring or are you still going to keep it?"     "I'm going to keep it. I have it in the bag that's on that stool. That is part of the reason as to why I haven't let anyone in the kitchen. When I tell people what to do, they better listen or suffer my wrath." I stated firmly. Erick cringed, remembering the last time he faced my wrath. He stayed away for a week because of the punishment and how bad I scared him. I do believe he still has nightmares from time to time.     "I'll leave you be then. What time do you think we will be leaving?" He asked nervously.     "About half an hour till noon. Have everyone ready in forty-five minutes. I will keep everything on track or everyone will have a pissed off, Evie. Nobody wants a pissed off, Evie." I warned. Erick ran out of the kitchen giving off orders and warnings. Listening, I heard them running around followed by some panic shouts. "I am now a happy, Evie."     Firty-five minutes later, we were all ready to hike to the clearing. Without Erick knowing, I had taken it upon myself to make picnic tables for us to sit at. There is also water guns and a cooler of water ballons so we can have some fun before the big surprise.     I slung the bag over my shoulders while ordering Neil and Joseph to carry the cooler full of drinks. I gave the picnic basket to Jonah, receiving a few grumbles. Rolling my eyes, I turned to Jenna and Adrian. I wrapped my arms around them, leading the way to the clearing. "It's wonderful out here. I am so happy we are living in the mountains. It's like being away from reality. I wish it could always be like this." Adrian gave a dreamy sigh.     "You are such a dreamer."Jenna giggled. I smiled. "I have no doubt your dreans will come true though. You have a big heart and you deserve all the happiness you get. No will take that away, and if someone tries to do that, I will kill them."     "You will kill anyone who messes with the people you love." I laughed out. Jenna gave a small shrug, not arguing.     "Is that the clearing? It looks so cool!" Adrian ran ahead, followed by Jenna. I smirked when all the boys but Erick followed. I turned to him and smiled.     "You came here early this morning, didn't you. Before everyone woke up." He questioned knowingly.     "You know me so well." I patted his arm and linked arms with him. "Everything will go as plan. Act like you always do and nothing will go wrong. We have kept the secret very well. You are not backing out on this one anyrime soon."     "Of course not. If I backed out now, not that I would, you would kill me. It wouldn't be a quick death either. It will be the most painful death that you can come up with." Erick shivered at the thought.     "You got that one right. I may seem innocent, but you know I'm not. It's an act to trick everyone else." I said. "Come, it is time that we eat. I have made everyone's favorite lunch and dessert."     "You always out do yourself." Erick kissed my cheek and then joined Adrian at one of the tables.     Everything was going as planned. Everyone was sitting and now finishing dessert. Standing up, I went to the second cooler that was partly in the ground. Opening it up, I took out one one the water guns and showed them to the boys and Jenna. Their eyes lit up like a child getting candy. Tossing a water gun to everyone, we started spraying each other like there was no tomorrow.     Without them seeing me, I climbed one of the trees, hiding until one of them was under me. Using the last of the water and the bag of balloons that I snuck while they weren't looking, I soaked Joseph and Neil. They let out squawks and gasp as I jumped down. "I win."     "That is so mean, Evie. How did you even climb that tree? The braanches are too high!" Neil whined.     "I shall never reveil my secrets. It wouldn't be fun if I did. Now, sit in the sun and dry out. Erick!" Erick looked up sharply. Saying something to Adrian, he walked off to the side. I grabbed my bag and joined him. "Now, you remember what I said?" I asked.     "Act normal. Don't be stupid. Don't back out unless I have a death wish. Did I miss anything?" He asked nervously.     "Nope. You did well. Now, go over there and get one more step closer to fully claiming him." I declared firmly.     "That just makes me more nervous." He whined. I glared at him, making him swallow thickly. "I'll just be going now." I walked over to everyone else with a small smirk. They gave me questioning looks which I chose to ignore.     Erick took Adrian's hand and walked into the middle of the clearing. "Adrian, for as long as I have known you, you have supported and cared for me." Jenna squeezed my arm tightly. "You talk about our future all the time. Always dreaming of it, so, to take one more step closer to making that dream reality," Erick got down on one knee "I am asking you to marry me."     "OH MY GOD! YES!" Adrian squealed and pounced on Adrian. This is truly the best thing to happen in months.
