Cabin Dolva

1483 Words
The drive up the mountain is rough and confusing. Erick grumbled about the road being too bumpy and annoying. "We aren't far now. I got pictures of the place a few days ago. They made the place look like a cabin, but it looks great. It looks like a place we will all love."     "I'm sure we will all love it, Erick. You've worked so hard to make sure we will feel at home. It's a new start for all of us and I'm sure we will all figure out who we are while being here. Away from the grief of society will do us some good." Jenna assured him. She kissed his cheek and settled against Jonah, who is asleep, despite the road being rough.     "How can Jonah sleep through this?" I asked. Jenna shrugged and finished painting Jonah's pinkie nail, somehow perfectly. I sighed and looked out the window. The surrounding trees cluttered close together, making a beautiful sight. Everyonce in a while I would catch sight of deer, wolves, and a lot of birds. It reminds me how close to nature we are. It's so different from living in a town. To say the least, Erick chose the best place to come to. No one will ever know that we are out here.     "Evie, didn't you have a great-great-great-great grandfather who once lived up in the mountains? I remember your Grandma Willow talking and telling serval stories about him." Joseph asked.     "Yeah. Apprantly most of our family lived out and away from people for a long time. Something about coming from a different country and just wanting to stick to themselves and doing what they know best. There's paintings in my ancestory home that go back many years ago before cameras were invented. Apprantly my family has been rich for as long as my I can remember. I found one of my ancestors journals, but i haven't read it yet. I want to get settled in here before reading it. We can read the journal together. It will be more fun that way." I said.     "That sounds cool. Hopefully your family was more giving back then." Joseph chuckled when Jenna slapped him. "Come on, you know her family isn't the best!" They neglected her so much, it's the reason why she is so short!"     "I'm not that short!" I defended. Everyone laughed.     "What's so funny? What i miss?" Jonah mummbled, waking up with a jolt.     "Nothing much. We are about to the place, so stay awake or you'll be sleeping in the van tonight." Adrian warned him. Jonah crossed his arms and pouted. "You are such a child. Erick, will you and I be sharing a room?" Adrian asked, making puppy dogs eyes.     "If that is what you want. You still have your own room for whenever you want to be alone. I know how you get when your want a quiet spot." Erick said. "I know you hate sleeping in your own bed in new places. You hate sleeping in your own bed in general."     "It's so cold and lonely without my special boyfriend next to me!" Adrian whined. "Do we get to paint our rooms the colors we want?"     "Yeah. I told them to just paint the walls white so you guys can do what want with them. I know where all your bedrooms are and will personally show them to you once we get there. It's nearly dark. I know we will eat something light before turning in early, which is why we stopped to get lunch meat. We can start working on the house tomorrow. I have serveal paints in the trunk."     "That sounds like a plan." Jenna said. "I will love to paint my room a sunset orange. Perhaps I can just do a sunset on my wall. That will be cool to wake up to every day. I may change my mind."     "Let's make our rooms a surprise. We don't tell anyone about what we are doing and show them once we are all done." I suggested. They nodded in agreement. "It will keep us busy for at least a week or two. We can run down the the city when we need to and get things we need for other fun projects."     "I would love to learn archery. I think that will be fun. Make my own bow and arrow for the heck of it." JOnah said.     "Hey guys, we're here!" Adrian squealed.     "Welcome to Cabin Dolva. Don't judge the name. It was so random. I just came up with it on the spot." Erick said. Laughing, we got out and checked out the front of the house. "Totally better than the pictures. Let's get the coller out before i show you the rooms. After you guys check out your rooms, meet up in the kitchen. Evie, you are going to love the kitchen. I thought of you when I designed it, with the help of Neil of course."     We entered the house, waiting for Erick and Adrian to back to us. Erick let out a string of curses from the kitchen followed by laughing from Adrian. They came back, Erick sucking on his thumb. "He pinched his thumb on the cooler. How he did that is beyond me." Adrian giggled as Erick glared at him.     "Let's head up stairs, shall we?" We walked up the stairs. The stairs wound up to the second floor. The hall on the second floor has light blue walls and wooden floors. Pictures hung on the wall of all of us. Erick must have sent them here for them to hang up for him. "Neil, your room is the first door on the right. Jonah, yours is the second door on the right." They went to their rooms to check them out.     "The hall is so pretty." Jenna said.     "I'm glad. Turned out better than I thought. My door is the first on the left followed by Adrian's and Joseph. Jenna, yours is next to Jonah's." They went to their rooms. Erick turned to me and smiled. "That lone door at the end of the hall, thets your room. I had your room put there, because behind the house is a meadow. I know how much you love watching the animals. Go check it out, Evie." I walked past the others doors and straight to my room.     I opened the door and gasped slightly at the size of the room. I closed the door behind me before standing in the middle of the room. To the right of me, stood a king size bed. A little too big in my opinion. The bed held black blankets and pillows with silver and green trimming. The carpet is a light grey followed by white walls. A forest green nightstand stood next to my bed with an alarm clock and a few pictures with a lamp. To my left is a black dresser with blue lillies painted along the drawers.      I walked to one of the two other doors in the room. The first is a walk in closet. Apprantly Erick has already took it apon himself to buy new clothes. Knowing my style, everything fit towards my needs and likes. I looked at the different types of shoes he thought I needed. There was hiking boots, dress boots, regular shoes, jogging shoes, and more. I shook my head. That is more shoes than I have ever had in a year.     The other door led to a bathroom. It was rather large for just one person. It held a marble tub and sink. Hair supplies and makeup sat on the sink. A mirror lined the wall above the sink. I looked in the cabinets below the sink to find other supplies I will need. "Erick, you really out did yourself. It's like having a brother that loves to spoil me." Walking out of the bathroom, I faced a set of doors that led to a balcony. I gasped as I walked out onto the balcony. The meadow looked like it came from another world. The beauty of the meadow was wondeful. Lilacs, lillies, roses, and many other kind of flowers sat below me. Different kinds of animals wondered the meadow. "Amazing."     I reeluctantly moved away from the balcony to rejoin my friends down stairs. Jenna was hugging Erick and thanking him over and over again. The boys laughed as Erick tried to push her off. "Alright Jenna, don't suffacate him. Erick, you have really out done yourself. Thank you for the room. I defently love the veiw. It's a calming and beautiful sight."     "Only the best for my friends." He said truthfully. I smiled while giving a hug. "Now food and then bed!"
